Chapter 799
My Wife is a Hacker
Vivian could not believe her eyes because no one had registered for all the sports events. She thought the reason Nicole did that was to steal the limelight.
âWhatâs this?! Youâre proud because youâve registered for all the events?
âYouâre from the countryside. Iâm afraid that you donât know how cruel sports can be. Donât pretend to be sick and withdraw from the competition when the time comes!â Vivian threw the registration form at the people beside her. She then left the classroom.
âWhy is she always acting this way? She doesnât have a sense of collective honor. Hope she doesnât quit the competition when the time comes! She had never participated in any competition before. And yet, she registered for four events. She overextended herselfâ¦â June could not stand Vivianâs mad face.
Gary was watching Nicole from behind. He walked toward her after Vivian left. âNicole, I want to make changes to the registration form.â
âThe registration form is over there. Make the changes on your own.â
âIf anyone of you wants to make changes to the registration form, do it before noon. Iâll submit the form in the afternoon,â Nicole said to her classmates. She did not bother Vivian, who was yelling.
âWe wonât make changes. Weâd given it a deep thought for a night!â
âGary. Why did you register for all the events?â This is just a sports meeting. You donât have to do this.â
Jack stared at Gary in surprise.
âThatâs right. Gary, weâre just making up the numbers, right? Why are you being so serious about it?â
Wayne scratched his head as he wondered.
Gary glanced at Jack and Wayne as they tried to dissuade him. He then picked up a pen to register for all the sports events for them as well.
âDonât do that, Gary. Are you trying to kill us?!â Jack and Wayne saw the checkmarks behind their names. They were anxious to the point that they almost cried.
âDonât cross them out.â Gary glared at them. He then took the registration form and went back to his seat.
Time passed quickly in the morning, as usual. It was lunch hour in a blink of an eye. Nicole stood up and said to her classmates, âAnyone who wants to make changes to the sports day events registration form, do it now. If not, Iâll submit the form.â
She had a look around. Nobody spoke.
âWhereâs the form?â Nicole asked.
âItâs with me.â Gary took the registration form as he walked toward Nicole.
âGive it to me.â Nicole reached for the form.
Gary took a step back. He did not give the form to her. âIâm going to the student council too. Letâs walk together.â
âItâs alright. Iâm going for lunch now. You go ahead.â Nicole took the registration form from Gary. She then turned around and left.
Garyâs blood was boiling as he looked at Nicoleâs back. âI donât even deserve to walk with her now?â
âGary, do you want to go for lunch now?â Jack reminded him softly. âAll you care about is food. Youâre useless!â Gary scolded Jack ridiculously. Jack felt wronged.
âWayne, I didnât do anything that upset Gary today, right? Whatâs wrong with him?â
âYou didnât know? Gary has been a changed man ever since the Johnston familyâs party. I guess itâs something to do with Nicole.â
âI see⦠Gary, wait up.â Jack chased after him.
Nicole submitted the registration form to the student council after lunch. She then went to the cafe outside of her school.
Claus welcomed her immediately after she entered the cafe. âMs. Riddle, Mr. Johnston will be here in a minute.â
âI know.â
âCappuccino?â Claus asked. Nicole showed him the âOkayâ hand gesture. She then sat at her usual table and took out her laptop.
After she logged in, she saw a job, âInformation on the website was stolen. We need an expert to fix it urgentlyâ.
