Chapter 966
My Wife is a Hacker
Nicole did not want to argue with him. Indeed, she had more or less everything to do with winning the last bid.â Stop interrupting my reading.â
âOkay. The flight is booked for the day after the exam. Iâm leaving.â Harvey got up and left.
After Harvey left, Gary slowly moved over to Nicole and looked at Harvey as he went. âWhat did he want with you?
Nicole scowled at him. âWhen did you get here?â
âI-I came with you. But I was reading over there when I saw Harvey. So I came over to ask.â Gary looked as if he had a guilty conscience.
âSince when do you have to ask about my business? Go and do your homework.â Gary went back to his seat and started reading seriously.
It was the day of the exam. Nicole entered the exam hall and came out in about 20 minutes.
The invigilator sat at the podium and looked at Nicoleâs paper; this was the student who had submitted her exam paper the quickest under his invigilation. Previously, students who turned in their papers so fast were those who did not study, but Nicoleâs paper was clearly and neatly answered, and she did not miss a single question.
Nicole walked out of school, relieved that she was done with her exams and that she no longer had to go to school to deal with lessons. She got in her car and floored the gas pedal to drive to her grandfatherâs house.
Mr. Riddle Sr. was happy to see her. âDonât you have classes today?â âThe exam is just over today,â
Nicole said. âHow did you do on the exam?â Mr. Riddle Sr. looked at her.
âZero pressure. Grandpa, how have you been lately?â This was the first time she came to see her grandfather after she returned from abroad.
âTo quote you earlier, zero pressure. My everyday life as it is; just boring.â Mr. Riddle Sr. joked.
âYou sound like you are a bit tired of your current life? Do you still want to experience something exciting?â Nicole asked tentatively.
âWhat other exciting things can I experience with my old bones? The daily news is exciting enough.â
Mr. Riddle Sr. beamed.
âI havenât been following the news lately. Is there something big going on?â Nicole looked at him with bewilderment.
âMany people have been hurt by the recent unrest in many places abroad.â Mentioning these things made Mr. Riddle Sr. feel sad. âYeah? I have been so busy with other things lately that I havenât noticed.â Nicole could not help but think of Zane and Carl, that maybe they were on a mission in a foreign country at the moment. âGrandpa, I brought my grandma to the villa you gave me earlier. You wonât be angry, right?â
âOh? Why didnât you tell me earlier? I would have given Mrs. Wallace Sr. a reception, which should have been done out of courtesy.â âHow is her health?â Mr. Riddle Sr. looked at Nicole with an avuncular face.
âShe is healthy. She wanted to come over to visit you before, but she didnât because she was afraid it would disturb you,â Nicole said.
âWhat disturbance? Iâm bored to death here alone all day.
âWell, you go back now and pick up Mrs. Wallace Sr., and we will have a casual dinner together tonight.â Mr. Riddle Sr. said with a big smile.
âOkay, then Iâll go now.â
After Nicole left, Mr. Riddle Sr. instructed the family butler. âAsk the chef to come to the house. I want to entertain an important guest tonight. Also, get the family over here. I want to introduce them to an honored guest.â
âYes, Sr.â
Nicole drove back to the sea-view villa. Her grandmother was watering the flowers in the garden.
