Chapter 967
My Wife is a Hacker
âGrandma, youâre watering the flowers?â
âAre the exams over, Nicole?â
âYeah.â
âHow did the exam go?â Mrs. Wallace Sr. was concerned about her studies.
âI donât think itâs a problem.â
Mrs. Wallace Sr. saw Nicoleâs confidence and nodded her head. âGlad to hear that. You can relax now.â
âMy grandpa asked me to come and pick you up. He invites us to have a family dinner tonight.â
âTonight? Will we disturb him?â Mrs. Wallace Sr. asked endearingly.
âNo. I will take you in now and change.â Nicole helped her into the house. When Nicole came to the room, she found that Mrs. Wallace Sr.âs clothing was not suitable for attending dinner. So she drove Mrs. Wallace Sr. to the mall to buy some clothes. She realized it was her fault for only thinking of taking her grandmother shopping for clothes now, blaming herself for not having thought of it before.
âWhy are we coming to the mall?â Mrs. Wallace Sr. felt dizzy looking at the busy mall. âYou have been here for so long, and I canât believe I havenât even taken you to buy a few outfits. Itâs so unthoughtful of me. It just so happens that we have dinner to attend today, so letâs pick out a few more sets.â Nicole took Mrs. Wallace Sr.âs arm and headed into the mall.
âI have clothes. Donât spend unnecessarily.â Mrs. Wallace Sr. disagreed that Nicole was spending money frivolously. âIt is alright. Iâm earning money now, and I can afford to buy you something better.â
Nicole led her into a shop.
âHello, how can I help you?â A shop assistant came forward and asked. Her attitude was a bit haughty when she saw Nicole and Mrs. Wallace Sr. dressed plain and simple.
âGet my grandma some clothes that fit her. We have dinner to attend,â Nicole said.
âOkay, just a moment.â Nicole clearly sensed some impatience from the shop assistant, but she said nothing and took her grandmother aside to sit down.
âMiss, take a look at these dresses.â The shop assistant took out some dated styles to try and fool Nicole.
âThese styles seem to be old from the year before last, donât they? Nothing new?â Nicole asked.
âIâm sorry, Miss. The new arrivals are out of stock today, and the shop only has the old ones.â The shop assistant looked disgustedly at Nicole and Mrs. Wallace Sr.
Nicole was about to get angry. But considering her grandmother was there, she calmed down and walked back to Mrs. Wallace Sr. âGrandma, this shop doesnât have the right style. Letâs look at other shops.â
âOkay.â Nicole helped Mrs. Wallace Sr. to the other shops.
âBring out this yearâs new clothing that fits my grandma, and let us have a look.â Nicole was not polite this time as she spoke straight away.
The shop assistant swept her eyes at Nicole and Mrs. Wallace Sr. and waved her hand in disgust.
âThere are no clothes here for you two. Get out of here.â
Nicole got furious. âGet your manager over here.â
âThe manager doesnât have time, so get out of here.â
Nicole walked out to look at the billboards in the mall and then dialed a phone number. Soon the head of the mall came trotting over to Nicole. âMiss Riddle , Iâm sorry to keep you waiting. What can I do for you?â Mr. Patel came up to Nicole respectfully and squeezed a flattery smile.
The shop assistant looked dumbfounded, wondering when Mr. Patel had ever been behaving like this.
Usually, it was someone else who treated him like this.
âMr. Patel, I was thinking of buying some clothes for my grandmother, but the shop assistants in several shops said they didnât have any. Is there nothing my grandma can wear in a mall as huge as yours?â
Nicole questioned him nonchalantly.
Beads of sweat popped up on Mr. Patelâs forehead, and he said flatteringly, âHow can it be? There is everything that your grandma wants here. Which shops have you gone to? I will accompany you.â
