Chapter 968
My Wife is a Hacker
âThis is it.â Nicole looked back at the shop assistant inside and led her grandmother in under her watchful eye.
âMr. Patel, this isâ¦â
âDonât you even recognize Miss Riddle? Go get her grandma some of the latest clothes this year,â Mr.
Patel said.
âYes.â The shop assistant immediately did as she was told, not daring to delay for a second. Soon, the shop assistant held several sets of the current new clothes in front of Nicole. âMiss Riddle, it is my fault for not recognizing you. I apologize. These are the best clothes in our shop. Please have a look.â
Mr. Patel could immediately tell that there must have been friction between the shop assistant and Nicole before he arrived, and he hurriedly mediated. âMiss Riddle, if there is anything that doesnât fit, I will immediately ask her to go and change it for you.â
Nicole was not one who was difficult to reason with. When she saw the sincerity of the shop assistant and Mr. Patelâs pleading, she let it slide. âLetâs give this one to my grandma to try on.â
The shop assistant hurriedly picked the outfit up and helped Grandma to put it on her. âYou look so spirited in it. Miss Riddle, what do you think?â
Nicole looked at Mrs. Wallace Sr. It was really a matter of dressing up and dressing down; Mrs. Wallace Sr. looked much more refreshed in her new clothes, and her entire temperament was elevated. âNice, it fits.â
âHow do you feel, Grandma?â Nicole asked.
Mrs. Wallace Sr. looked happy in the mirror. âIt looks good.â
Seeing how much her grandmother liked it, Nicole said to the shop assistant, âSame size; wrap these all up.â When Mrs. Wallace Sr. heard this, she said, âWhy buy so many, Nicole? One is good enough.
Clothes nowadays last ten years at least.â âItâs okay. You can change it every day.â Nicole would buy Mrs. Wallace Sr. any she liked. âYou have such a dutiful granddaughter. We are so envious.â Mr. Patel praised.
Mrs. Wallace Sr. was all smiles.
âMiss Riddle, are you paying by cash or card?â The shop assistant asked with a smile.
âCard.â Nicole took out a gold card and handed it to the shop assistant.
Mr. Patel and the shop assistant froze when they saw the gold card, which was a limited edition gold card with the word Harmon on it. That someone could hold this card spoke volumes about her status.
âWhat are you waiting for? Iâm in a hurry.â Nicoleâs words jolted the two of them back to reality.
âYes, Iâll go right away.â
Mr. Patel did not even expect Nicole to come up with a gold card. He only knew her as Jaredâs fiancée, not that she and Scott Harmon were friends.
After checking out, Nicole helped Mrs. Wallace Sr. downstairs while Mr. Patel carried her shopping bags behind her all the way to the car park.
Nicole helped her grandmother into the car and turned to Mr. Patel. âThank you very much.â
âDonât mention it. It is my pleasure to serve you. Please visit our mall again next time.â Mr. Patel smiled politely. âByeâbye.â Nicole got in her car and drove off toward the seaâview villa.
Nicole was so happy to see her grandmother all groomed and dressed up.
âGrandma, from now on, you will wear it all like this. Itâs classy.â Nicole praised.
Tia nodded from the sidelines.
Mrs. Wallace Sr. did not quite understand what Nicole was saying, but she looked at her and smiled, knowing in her heart that she was complimenting her. âTia, weâre off to Mr. Riddle Sr.âs house. No need to wait for us for dinner tonight.â âOkay. Drive safe.â
