Chapter 103
The Alpha’s Little Rogue
Chapter 103
Cadenâs POV
Iâve been awake for the past half hour and Iâve spent all that time studying my mateâs face.
The pain thatâs usually etched on it when sheâs sleeping is now gone. A result of her healed injuries.
A soft smile graces her lips like sheâs having a sweet dream and I suddenly wish that werewolves also possess telepathic skills. Does it make me conceited if I assume that Iâm the reason sheâs having such a peaceful sleep?
If that smile isnât caused by the fact that we had another round a few hours ago, then it will definitely be because of the sixty-nine we had a couple of minutes back.
Alessia is insatiable and Iâm more than happy to take care of her needs. Her heat is over but that doesnât mean that we
canât keep having these stolen moments together.
Her eyes flutter open, her amber eyes shining brightly. They flick to the window behind me and widen in surprise, effectively shattering the moment.
She jerks up on the bed. âWe missed dinner!â She groans, falling back on the bed and dragging her hands down her face.
This performance canât simply be because we missed dinner. âItâs ok,â I say anyway, gripping her hand and pulling it away from her face. Itâs a crime to keep such a beautiful face hidden. âIâm sure that thereâs some leftovers in the fridge. Iâll go down later and get something for us to eat.â
âItâs not that.â She sits up straight and Iâm having a hard time concentrating as my eyes slide down to her breasts which are bouncing from all the movement.
âThen what is the issue?â I force myself to keep my gaze above her neck.
âWe both didnât show up for dinner and Iâm sure they know that we didnât step out of the pack house.
Everyone is going to
know what weâve been doing,â she ends with another groan.
So thatâs where her predicament is coming from. Iâm too much of a gentleman to tell her that the entire pack house probably heard her screaming my name. Countless times.
âIs that such a bad thing?â The words are out before I can rethink them.
âWhat?â She asks, finally turning her focus on me.
âIs that such a bad thing?â I repeat, taking hold of her hand again. âI honestly donât care if my pack members find out that
weâre mated.â
Her brows shoot up.
I continue. âIn fact, I havenât cared about them for a long while.â A pause. âMove in with me. My pack members and the
rumors can go to hell for all I care.â

Her mouth drops and her eyes saucer-shaped. âMove it with you?â She echoes in disbelief.
âYes,â I answer, smiling softly to ease her nerves because itâs clear to anyone that sheâs freaking out of her mind. âWe would be spending every night together. A lot of chances to do a lot of things.â I make sure my voice is dripping with innuendo. Thereâs no way for her to miss what Iâm implying.
My hands slide up her arm and I can barely keep my smirk concealed as she shivers. The effect I have on her might just
work in my favor.
âWhat do you say?â Cupping her face, I caress her cheek with my thumb, stopping at the edge of her lips and tracing that pouty mouth. G o d, the things that mouth has done to me.
As if on cue, my c oc k stiffens under the cover, begging to join in on the action. Alessia just needs to accept my offer and then we can move on to other fun things. Things that will leave both of us very worn out but also sated. All she has to do is say-
âNo.â
The wheels in my head come to a halt as I try to wrap my head around her one-word answer. It doesnât sound anything like the answer I wanted. âNo?â I echo, wondering if I somehow heard her wrong.
âI donât think it will be a good idea for us to move in together,â she expands.
My finger stops tracing her lips and my hand falls from her face to my side.
Of course, this scenario did cross my mind, Iâm not that conceited- but I never actually expected it.
Weâre both relaxed from living in our cocoon and away from the outside world. In short, I expected a yes.
âI think weâre moving too fast and need to move things back a notch.â She inches back, making a literal translation of her
words.
âWeâre fated mate and we just found out that our existence has basically been entwined for years.â
âIt doesnât mean that we need to start living in each otherâs space,â she bites out, a frown settling on her face. A totally different look from the peaceful look she had on while sleeping.
âIt doesnât mean that we shouldnât,â I counter lamely, hearing how dumb I sound even to my ears.
If the universe is trying to get us to be together, then who are we to try to stop it? I know how to read the signs and Iâm not trying to get struck down by lightning by going against the universeâs wishes.
âA few weeks ago, you didnât want anyone to know weâre mates and now, you want to mark me and have me move in with you.â She pauses, shaking her head. âI canât handle the drastic changes. Itâs giving me whiplash.â
I know I turned over a whole new leaf, but Iâm tired of fighting off my attractions. I tried to do it for months and look where it landed us. Alessia was nearly killed and we lost a valuable member of our pack.
âWhat changed you?â She asks, her eyes running over my body. She mustnât have found what she was looking for because her gaze goes back to mine with that confusion still intact. âWhy did you change your mind about us?â
