Chapter 106
The CEO's Amazing Ex-Wife Is Back!
Chapter 106 Tempers flared. Tension thrummed through the air. The two men looked like they were ready to pounce on each other. Not wanting that to happen, Thalassa quickly inserted herself between them.
âWhat is going on here?â she demanded, her questioning gaze on Kris.
âWhy donât you ask that guy?â Kris sneered, waving the bouquet of pink lilies in his hand. âHeâs not satisfied with just controlling his sisterâs life. He also thinks he has the right to make decisions for you.â
Thalassa was confused. She turned to look at Zeke. âWhat is he talking about?â
Guilt mixed with anger on Zekeâs face, but he didnât say anything.
âWhat? Cat got your tongue?â Kris snickered. âSince you wonât tell her, I will. Thalassa, I sent some flowers to be delivered to you, but this bastard sent away the delivery man and even threatened to call security on him, all while claiming that it was by your instructions.â
He was so glad he had stayed in his car after sending the delivery man to deliver the flowers.
Thalassa was taken aback by what she was hearing. She turned back to look at Zeke with a stern expression, giving him a chance to deny Krisâs accusation. That denial never came; the guilty expression on his face gave him away.
Thalassa made a mental note to talk to him about it later. But for now, she wasnât going to allow Kris to feel validated in any way.
She tilted her head back to face Kris. âAnd?â
Kris paused. âWhat do you mean, âandâ? Heâs trying to control your decisions. He sent the flowers away without your permission.â
âThatâs because he knows that I want nothing to do with you or any gift you might want to bring me.â
Kris stared at her in disbelief. âJust to spite me, are you really going to let him control your decisions?â
âIn this case, and everything that has to do with you, yes,â she announced, a cold look entering her eyes. âWhat were you even thinking, sending me those? That I was just going to accept them after Iâve clearly told you that I want nothing to do with you?â
She scoffed. âYouâre lucky Zeke sent the flowers away, because if they had been brought to me, I wouldâve torn them apart and flushed them down the toilet. And what a waste of money that would be, wouldnât it?â
Kris was hurt. The absolute coldness and disdain in her eyes felt like several pins poking through his skin.
âThalassa...â he tried to say, his voice heavy as he stepped forward.
âJust go away, Kris. Youâre not needed here.â
Now that Thalassa had taken his side, Zeke felt confident again and stepped forward, hissing, âYou heard her. Get out of here, or I will throw you out myself.â
He had the audacity to push Kris on the chest. Kris furiously shoved him back.
âDonât fucking lay your hand on me again,â he warned.
âOr what? What are you going to do, huh?â Zeke challenged, but before things could escalate, another voice came from behind them.
âLassa, did you... did you throw my flowers into the trash?
It was Clark, coming toward them with his messedâup flowers in his hand, hurt and confusion on his face. âWhat are you talking about?â Thalassa asked, raising a brow as she stared at the flowers in his hand.
âI sent these flowers for you, but I just noticed them in the trashcan.â
âFuck,â Zeke muttered under his breath. Now he knew that Thalassa wasnât going to let him off the hook.
Thalassa didnât need to be told what had happened. Facing Zeke with narrowed eyes, she said, âYou had no right to do that.â
Zeke couldnât even deny it, his face reddening with embarrassment.
âWait! It was this guy who threw my flowers into the trash? Who the fuck do you think you are?â Clark raged, but Thalassa held up her hand, subtly telling him that she could handle it.
She continued looking at Zeke, her eyes demanding answers. Zeke looked flustered and said the first excuse that came to his mind.
âIâm sorry, I did it because I thought he was bothering you.
Thalassa blinked in confusion. âWhy would you think that?â
Zekeâs mind worked overtime again. âItâs just that Luisa told me the news circulating about your relationship with him was fake, and I assumed that the pictures were taken because he wouldnât leave you alone.â
Behind them, Luisa glared at her brother, not believing he was throwing her under the bus after she had clearly told him that Thalassa wasnât going to like what he was doing.
âYou assumed?â Clark huffed. âWho are you, anyway? What makes you think you have any right to assume anything about Thalassaâs life, let alone take action on her behalf?â
âNo matter what you assumed, you shouldnât have done what you did, at least without informing me first,â Thalassa chastised.
The joy Kris felt at hearing there was nothing between Thalassa and Clark knew no bounds, but at the same time, his chest tightened with bitterness. She hadnât told Zeke off when he informed her that Zeke had sent his flowers away, yet here she was, reprimanding Zeke because of Clarkâs flowers.
âYou didnât say anything to him when he sent my flowers away,â he couldnât help but say.
Immediately, Clarkâs face contorted with fury as he gave Kris an incredulous look. âYou brought her flowers? What the fuck, dude? Arenât you ashamed of yourself after everything you and your family have put her through?â
Thalassa rubbed her temples, already feeling a headache coming on. By now, their voices had risen so much that the few models and other employees on that floor had stepped out to take a peek at what was going on.
âDonât speak about what you know nothing about!â Kris snarled.
Clark scoffed. âI know enough to know that Thalassa gave you all her love and trust, only for you to trample all over it.â
âExactly,â Kris added. âSo you have no right sending her any flowers.â
âNo one asked for your opinion,â both Clark and Kris hissed.
The three men stood glaring at each other, their breathing heavy, looking like they were ready to start throwing punches until Thalassa couldnât take it anymore.
âEnough!â she yelled, her breathing ragged with irritation. âDonât talk about me like Iâm not standing right here.
+25 BONUS Chapter 106 None of you decide for me. I make my own decisions, and right now, Iâve decided that I want none of you here!â Fuming, she stormed back into her office and slammed the door shut, leaving the three men staring at the door in dismay.
