Chapter 28
The CEO's Amazing Ex-Wife Is Back!
apter 28 Chapter 28 Thalassa stared at the man in front of her. She was surprised but not shocked, because she knew he was coming.
Having known him for more than two years even before they got married, she knew how impulsive he could get. That was why she told her security guards not to stop him if he sneaked into the house. She just hadnât expected him to do it so soon.
âWelcome, Kris. I have been expecting you,â she said calmly.
He let out a laugh that had no warmth whatsoever. âIs that the excuse youâre going to use now that Iâve caught you?â
âNow that youâve caught me?â She rolled her eyes. âOh please, donât be such a drama queen. It doesnât suit you.â
Krisâs o eyes blazed as he stared at her. Three years. He finally had her in front of him again after three years. Heâd spent so many restless nights thinking about her, wondering where the hell she was, hating himself for it.
Yet, now that she was in front of him, he felt a conflicting ball of emotions.
âWhat did you think you were going to achieve with that mask? That I wasnât going to recognize you?â He scoffed. âHow long were you planning to hide?â
âNot very long.â Thalassa shrugged, a nonchalant expression on her face. âIâve been able to hide so well all these years, what makes you think you wouldâve found me unless I wanted you to? Why do you think I left the balcony door unlocked? I couldâve told my guards to shoot you. After all, youâre trespassing on private property, but I didnât.â
âWhy didnât you?â Kris demanded, his eyes fading her to answer as he took steps closer towards her.
âBecause death isnât what you deserve. At least not now.â
Her voice was cold. Colder than Kris had ever heard her speak before. So cold that he felt a chill run through him.
âWhere have you been all these years, huh?â he asked, hating the throb in his voice.
âWhy? Did you miss me?â Her voice was back to being the nonchalant one devoid of any emotion.
Kris narrowed his eyes. âWhy are you back, Thalassa? Why are you targeting my family? Why are you targeting my mother?â
âI donât know what youâre talking about.â She let out a sigh. âIâm already beginning to get bored of this conversation.â
Before she could anticipate his next move, he lunged towards her, grabbing her by the arm. It hurt because of how forcefully he grabbed her, but Thalassa bit back the pain, not allowing it to show on her face.
âMy motherâs fashion house was doing fine until TT Fashion came along. Suddenly, the stocks began dropping and she started to lose a lot of deals. Now I find out that youâre the owner of TT Fashion and you expect me to believe that itâs all a coincidence?
Are you still going to deny it?â
Clenching her jaw, Thalassa furiously snatched her arm from his hold as she sneered, âNo, Iâm not going to deny it because itâs true. Iâm the one behind your motherâs losses. But believe me, this is not the end of it. This is just the beginning.â
Kris stumbled back, staring at her like he didnât recognize her. Even after everything she did to him and his family, she was standing here still unapologetic.
âWhy do you hate my mother so much? Because she helped me see the kind of trash you are?â
Chapter 20 His words cut Thalassa, making tears burn her eyes, but she was damned if she was going to shed a single tear in front of him.
âTrash?â She let out a mirthless laugh. âIf you want to see what trash really looks like, then take a good look at everyone in your family. Theyâre the perfect example, including that wife of yours.
The corner of Krisâs lip twitched. âOh, I see. So this is what all this is about? Youâre doing this because jealous I picked Karen over you? Because she now holds the position you used to hold in my life?â
âre e youâr His guts twisted. God knows he hadnât chosen Karen. Heck, he wished he didnât have to be with her for his daughterâs sake, but he just wanted to see how his words would affect Thalassa.
And judging from how her eyes brightened with moisture, Kris was sure his words had gotten to her no matter how stoneâfaced she looked.
âYou think youâve found yourself some gold as a wife, donât you?â Thalassa snorted.
âYes, I do think Iâve found myself some gold because Karen is a decent woman and so much better than you. She would never lie to me or betray me. She didnât marry me for my money, and she would never cheat on me.â
Disgust filled his eyes as he scanned her from head to toe. âTell me, how many men did you have to fuck in order to get all this money? How many Before he could finish, a resounding slap landed on his cheek, violently tossing his head to the side.
âIf you think you can come to my house and insult me, then youâre sorely mistaken,â Thalassa gritted out.
all the Krisâs check burned. In ears heâd known Thalassa, sheâd never laid a hand on him, so he realized just how much his words had hurt her.
He wondered if heâd gone too far with his words, but at the same time, he felt so angry. She never apologized for all the things she did three years ago, and yet she still wanted to hurt his loved ones.
âDoes the truth hurt?â He sneered.
âGet o out!â Thalassa hissed. âGet out of my house! Guard!â
Immediately, a guard burst into the room. It was obvious that heâd been waiting behind the door.
âGet him out of here!â Thalassa commanded.
Kris raised his hand sternly when the guard began walking towards him. âNo need. I can find my way out.â
He turned to Thalassa. âIf you think Iâm going to sit back while you harm the people I love, then youâre sorely mistaken.â
With that, he walked out of the room with the guard following behind him.
