Chapter 31
The CEO's Amazing Ex-Wife Is Back!
8/3 Chapter 31 Linda Miller was so shocked by the slap that she could only hold her burning cheek and stare at Thalassa in disbelief. During the time Thalassa had been her daughterâinâlaw, she had never dared to talk back to her or retaliate in any way, let alone slap her.
âYou! How dare you lay a hand on me, you imbecile!â Linda raged.
âNo. How dare YOU raise your hand at me!â Thalassa sneered back. âDo you think Iâm still that naive, stupid woman who allowed you and everyone else to walk over her? Think again! Donât throw hands if you donât want hands, because if you throw hands, youâll get hands. Is that clear?â
âHow dare you speak to my mother like that, you lowlife whore?! And how dare you lay your hands on her?!â Susan fumed as she charged towards Thalassa, but before she could do anything, Thalassa landed a hot slap on her cheek Susan flew back, stumbling into her mother and aunt, causing all three of them to fall on the floor in a tangle of limbs.
âOh, children,â Thalassa sighed like a disappointed mother âThey just donât listen.â
Immediately, the employees erupted into loud applause with proud smiles on their faces. Thalassa smirked down at the three people on the floor. 1 âYou bitch! You are going to pay for this!â Tyler, who was the only one left standing, growled as he glared at Thalassa, who rolled her eyes.
The three women finally managed to untangle themselves and get up from the floor, their faces flushed with humiliation âYou savage lowlife,â Aunt Cynthia spat, looking like she wanted to cry. âYouâll pay for this!â
âWhat is going on here?â A manly voice questioned.
Luisaâs eyes widened. âZeke!â
She immediately ran into Zekeâs embrace, but because Zeke was pensive, he didnât return the hug for long before moving to Thalassaâs side.
Linda immediately recognized Zeke as the young, renowned businessman he was.
âI know you. Youâre Zeke Mathews,â she said. âI knew there was something off. This woman can never be the owner of such a successful fashion empire. Youâre the owner, right? And sheâs just the CEO.â
She immediately stepped closer to him, holding his arm. Zeke looked down, glaring at where her hand was touching him, but Linda was oblivious as she continued talking.
âYou need to fire that woman. You canât let her keep being the CEO.â
Zeke raised a brow. âReally? And why is that?â His voice was mocking, but Linda obviously didnât notice as she explained.
âBecause sheâs nothing but a thief, She used to be my daughterâinâlaw and worked for my son in our textile company, but do you know what she did? She betrayed my son. She took advantage of our trust and embezzled several million dollars from us.â
âOh my God, really?â Zeke said with mockingly widened eyes. âI didnât know that.â
âYou can search everything on the internet. Youâll see that my mother is telling you the truth,â Tyler passionately 1/2 Chapter 31 supported his mother.
âOh, Iâm sure youâre telling me the truth,â Zeke smiled. âUnfortunately, I canât fire her. How can I fire the owner from her own company?â
Linda looked dismayed. âSo sheâs truly the owner?â
Zeke finally dropped his mocking persona, his face hardening. Why? Did you really think that she would amount to nothing after what you and your family did to her?â
âSo you knew? Then why did you let me keep speaking?â
Zeke shrugged. âWhen people want to make a fool out of themselves, who am I to stop them By this time, Lindaâs face was red with embarrassment and anger as she looked at Thalassa. âThis is not the end of it!â
With that, she turned and stormed out of the reception.
âIâm going to tell my nephew about this. Heâs going to deal with you!â Cynthia promised before she also turned and left. Susan and Tyler followed.
Once they were finally gone, Zeke turned to Thalassa. âAre you okay?â
âHow wouldnât she be okay?â Luisa chirped in. âYou shouldâve seen how she dealt with those idiots before you came here. By the way, what are you doing in Baltimore?â
Zeke grinned. âWhat? Did you really think that I was going to leave you girls all alone here?â
Pulling his sister close, he hugged her and placed a kiss on her forehead. When he untangled from the hug, his eyes softened as he looked at Thalassa.
âI know youâre a strong woman, and you probably donât need me. But please remember that no matter what, Iâll always be here to support you.â
Î Thalassa felt slightly uncomfortable with the way he spoke and looked at her, but she flashed a smile for his sake.
âThank you, Zeke.â
