Chapter 32
The CEO's Amazing Ex-Wife Is Back!
Chapter 32 Later that day, Thalassa was in her office reviewing some designs when she heard muffled bickering outside her door.
âI told you, you canât just go in,â her secretary Juana said.
âGet out of my way.
Thalassa sighed, wondering who she would have to deal with now. Just then, the door burst open, and Karen stormed in.
âThalassa, Iâm so sorry. I tried to stop Juana began to explain in a panic, but Thalassa calmed her down.
âItâs okay, Juana. Leave us alone.â
Juana nodded and walked out, not without glaring at Karen, who looked unapologetic.
Once the door closed, Thalassa turned to Karen with a smile. âI was wondering when you were going to come to see me. Iâm surprised you didnât come with your accomplice.â
Karen stared back at her. âYou fooled us so well.â
âFooled you well?â Thalassa tsked. âI donât think so. After all, your dear husband recognized me. Thatâs why he sneaked into my room last night to seek me out.â
She smirked, enjoying how Karenâs face flashed with anger before she continued. âOr maybe it was you who couldnât recognize me because you felt too guilty to even consider that it was me.â
âGuilty?â Karen scoffed. âI have nothing to be guilty for.â
Thalassaâs smile hardened as she walked around her desk to stand directly in front of Karen. âAre you sure about that? How about the fact that you betrayed me when I asked you to tell Kris the truth that his mother was the one who sent me? You were supposed to be my best friend, yet you betrayed me in the worst way possible.â
Karen shivered, seeing the blatant look of hatred in Thalassaâs eyes, which confirmed that sheâd indeed come back for revenge.
But maybe if she managed to appeal to Thalassa, then she would spare her.
âIâm sorry. I didnât want to do any of those things,â she said. âLinda forced me. She was so determined to get rid of you, and she threatened that if I didnât help her or exposed her, she was going to destroy me and my family. I couldnât allow that.â
After Karen finished speaking, Thalassa could only shake her head in wonder. âAnd did Linda also force you to have an affair with my husband and marry him after we divorced?â
Karen opened her mouth to speak, but nothing came out.
âI canât believe how easily it comes to you to betray the people who trust you. Youâre still as despicable as ever, so donât play innocent. You betrayed me to get me out of the way so that you and Kris could finally be together.â
Karen finally dropped her innocent mask as she sneered, âknew it. So this is what all this is about! Youâre doing all this because Kris chose me over you.â
Thalassa scoffed. âBelieve me, you couldnât be more mistaken.â
âNo, you canât fool me, Thalassa,â Karen said, a malicious smile stretching across her face. âIt pains you to see. Kris and me together. It pains you that he loves me so much It pains you that he accepted my daughter even though he rejected that bastard you were carrying for me.â
Chapter 32 All Thalassa saw was red as she smacked her hand across Karenâs face in a violent slap.
âDo not ever dare call my child a bastard again!â she raged. âIs that clear?â
Karen held her burning cheek, tears springing to her eyes from the pain.
âHow dare you slap me?â She raised her hand to return the slap, but Thalassa saw it coming.
Catching Karenâs hand, she threw it to the side before delivering another slap to the same cheek. Karen gasped in pain, but before she could think of what to do, another slap landed on her other cheek. Then another, and another.
By the time sheâd received ten slaps, Karen felt like she was floating. She couldnât even think because the pain had occupied every cell in her brain. She stumbled back until she couldnât stand properly and landed on the cold tiled floor.
Breathing fire, Thalassa walked forward and crouched beside Karen as she hissed, âI know that it was you and Linda who sent that man to attack me on the night Kris and divorced. The two of you killed my baby, and for that, Iâm going to be your worst nightmare.â
un âI donât know what youâre talking about,â Karen managed to say, holding her arms up to cover her face from more slaps, but that did not stop Thalassa from slapping her two more times.
âStop. Please stop,â Karen pleaded.
âStop?â Thalassa let out a bitter chuckle. âThatâs exactly what I said when that man kicked me in the abdomen over and over again. Do you think he stopped? No! Because you and Linda had sent him. He kicked me until I passed out.â
Suddenly, she felt sadness mixing with her anger. Before everything, sheâd considered Karen the sister she never had, someone she could always rely on.
âWhy? What did I ever do to you to deserve such cruelty?â she asked.
âBecause you stole Kris from me!â Karen snapped. âHe was the man Iâve always loved. I introduced you to him because you needed a job, but you stole him from me while pretending to be my friend!â
âYou never told me you were in love with him,â Thalassa reminded her, shaking her head. âIf youâd told me, I wouldâve never accepted his proposal to be his girlfriend. Instead, you chose to frame me and kill my unborn child!â
Her anger sparked back to life, and she descended on Karen giving her more slaps. Afterward, she grabbed her by the hair and pulled her off the floor before dragging her out of the office while Karen cried, begging her to let go. of her hair. 1 Just as Thalassa was about to drag her further, Krisâs voice bellowed, âLet go of her!â
