Chapter 54
The CEO's Amazing Ex-Wife Is Back!
Chapter 53 +25 BONUS Their first kiss in three years was explosiveâat least for Krs. As soon as his lips touched hers, sensations heâd only ever experienced with her surged through every pore of his body.
If only it had lasted a while longer.
But it didnât. Just a few seconds later, Thalassa pushed against him with all her might, and when he stumbled back, her palm connected with his cheek in a fierce slap.
âDonât you ever do that again. Ever again,â she spat, fury blazing in her eyes.
Kris took another step back, running a frustrated hand through his hair. âIf you didnât want me to kiss you, then why did you say all those things to me? Why did you provoke me?â
âBecause I wanted you to see just how pathetic you are. But you have no right to kiss me ever again in your life. No right! Is that clear?â
Glowering at him one last time, she made her way to the washroom door and opened it before stepping out.
âFuck!â Kris slammed his fist into the wall, furious with himself.
She was right. He was pathetic. How had he allowed himself to be provoked like that? Now she knew that she still had an effect on him!
Earlier, after Thalassa left for the washroom, Clark and Luisa continued dancing until Clark paused with a frown and spoke.
âHey, donât you think Thalassa is taking a little too long?â
Luisa also stopped dancing as she nodded. âYouâre right. Let me go and check on her.â
She made her way off the dance floor, but just as she got to the mouth of the hallway that led to the washrooms, a firm hand grasped her arm.
She let out a gasp, ready to shriek, when the man spoke.
âDonât make a fuss. Itâs me.â
Luisa relaxed even as she glared at him. âVictor? What are you doing here?â
âI should be the one asking you that question,â he grimaced. âYou and I need to talk. Letâs go outside.â
He began dragging her towards the entrance. Luisa knew she couldâve freed herself or even resisted, but she willingly went with him because she agreed they needed to talk. She wanted to set things straight.
âLet go of me!â she demanded when they finally got outside, jerking her arm from his hold.
âWhy havenât you been picking up my calls or replying to my texts?â he snarled.
Luisa crossed her arms over her chest. âBecause I didnât feel like it,â she said, narrowing her eyes. âHow did you even know where to find me?â
âI tracked your phone,â he admitted. âAnd guess my surprise when I realized youâd come to a club, the very kind of place Iâve forbidden you from coming to.â
Luisa was furious, glaring back at him indignantly. âFirst of all, who do you think you are to track my phone?â she hissed, making a mental note to tighten security on her phone later. âSecond, youâre no one to forbid me from 12 +25 BONUS doing anything.â
âIâm your boyfriend!â he snapped. âI told you to return to New York in two days. Why are you still here?â
âDidnât you hear any of what I said?â Luisa huffed, though she wasnât surprised. Throughout their relationship, what she thought or wanted never truly mattered. It was always about what he wanted or how he felt. Sheâd always put him first, like the idiot sheâd been. But not anymore.
âDidnât you give me an ultimatum to return or forget about our relationship?â she sneered. âIsnât it obvious that Iâve already made my choice?â
His eyes darkened. âSo youâre saying you want to break up with me? Youâre out of your mind,â he huffed. âThis is all because of that stupid friend of yours, isnât it? Sheâs the one putting these stupid ideas in your head.â
âDonât you dare insult Thalassa,â Luisa warned, pointing a threatening finger at him.
Victor was taken off guard by her boldness. Obviously, he needed to put her in her place again, to make her the submissive woman sheâd been before.
He lunged forward, grabbing her arm. âEnough with your stupid, childish tantrums. Letâs go.â
âLet go of me,â Luisa hissed, snatching her arm out of his grasp. âI am not going anywhere with you.â
âYes, youâre coming with me,â he said with determination as he grabbed her again, this time much stronger and firmer. âWeâre going to spend the night at my hotel, and weâll return to New York first thing tomorrow.â
âYouâre sick. Let go of me. You canât force me to come with you,â Luisa fumed, thrashing her body to free herself from him, but he was too strong.
No matter how she resisted, he continued pulling her until they got to a car.
âVictor, I said let go of me. I do not belong to you, and Iâm not going anywhere with you,â Luisa said, still struggling.
âShut up,â Victor gritted out as he opened the door. But just as he was about to shove her inside, a voice bellowed behind them.
âLet her go right now!â
