Chapter 55
The CEO's Amazing Ex-Wife Is Back!
Chapter 54 +25 BONUS It was Alden, his eyes blazing as he glared at Victor. Luisaâs heart soared the moment she saw him.
Victor was offended that another man was trying to tell him what to do. He turned his head to glare at Alden.
âDonât butt your nose into other peopleâs business. Just get back inside the bar. This doesnât concern you.â
He began trying to push Luisa into the car again while she resisted. Aldenâs whole body tensed up, his eyes narrowing, jaw clenching, and the muscles in his arms bunching and straining against the bodyâhugging shirt he was wearing.
Luisa knew this was the worst time to be thinking this, but she couldnât help but notice how hot his anger made him look.
âI said let her go,â Alden said in a voice that was too calm not to be dangerous.
âFuck off, motherfucker,â Victor snapped, flipping him the finger. âSheâs my girlfriend, so stop bringing your presence where youâre not needed. Just leave us alone.â
âShe might be your girlfriend, but she clearly doesnât want to go with you, so fucking let go of her right now.â Aldenâs voice had risen a little higher now, ringing with warning.
âGo fuck yourself,â Victor sneered and was just about to shove Luisa into the car when Alden suddenly lunged forward.
Grabbing Victorâs collar, he pulled him back forcefully and jammed his fist against the manâs mouth, causing him to finally let go of Luisa. Victor stumbled a few steps before making a comeback.
He threw a punch, but Alden saw it coming and quickly ducked, landing two quick hits to Victorâs belly. Victor hunched over in pain, clutching his stomach. Luisa was rooted to her spot from fright, but Alden quickly grabbed her hand and protectively pulled her behind him.
âWhat the fuck is your problem, bastard?â Victor wheezed, his voice much softer than a few seconds ago.
âStay away from Luisa. Is that clear?â
âFuck you! Sheâs my girlfriend. You canât forbid me from seeing her.â
âOh, I am, because she clearly doesnât want anything to do with an animal like you.â
Victor turned his accusing eyes to her. âHe knows your name. That means you already know him. Who is he to you, huh? Is he the reason you refuse to return to New York with me?â
Luisa gritted her teeth. âNo, I refuse to return to New York with you because I want nothing to do with you. Iâm not going to allow you to treat me like you please anymore, Victor. So fucking go away.â
âWhatâs going on?â Thalassaâs voice came as she rushed onto the scene with Clark behind her. Her eyes darkened when she saw Victor.
âWhat are you doing here, Victor?â
âItâs you, isnât it? Youâre the bitch whoâs putting all these arrogant thoughts in Luisaâs head.â
âHey, you better watch your mouth, dude,â Clark warned, standing protectively behind Thalassa.
Unknowingly, Kris had also come out after being told by Henry that Alden had gone out after seeing a man take Luisa away. He watched them with a sour expression on his face.
âLuisa wants nothing to do with you, Victor. Youâre not wanted here, so go away,â Thalassa said, not at all 1/2 +25 BONUS Chapter 64 offended by the insult because she knew that was what Victor always thought of her, though he never had the courage to say it to her face.
Victor wanted to grab Luisa again, but looking at all the people who were backing her, he knew it would be fruitless. Perhaps he could try another strategy.
Letting out a breath, he spoke softly. âLuisa, baby... What did I do wrong? Please, whatever I did, I can fix it, okay? Just come with me and weâll sort all this out.â
Luisa smiled bitterly. Throughout their relationship, heâd never sounded this apologetic. âItâs not going to work, Victor. If you cared about our relationship, you wouldâve fixed things a long time ago, not now that I want to leave you.â
Just like that, Victorâs facade broke, and he warned, âIf you donât come with me right now, that will be it, Luisa. Youâre going to lose me forever, and I wonât take you back even if you beg on your knees.â
Luisa scoffed, âDonât worry, my knees will never touch the ground in front of you.â
Victor was furious, his breathing ragged as he glared at her. âStupid fucking bitch,â he hissed and quickly rushed into his car before Alden could pounce on him again.
Once the car sped off, Alden spun around and suddenly cupped Luisaâs face between his hands, his eyes filled with concern as he looked deeply into hers.
âAre you okay?â
Everyone was taken aback by his actions, but Luisa was the most shocked and confused.
Why was he acting like he cared so much about her?
