Chapter 70
The CEO's Amazing Ex-Wife Is Back!
Chapter 69 +25 BONUS âThe dress is beautiful, no doubt, but I feel like the bust could be a little less extra,â Thalassa said, her forehead creased thoughtfully as she stared at the model on the rotating showcase platform.
The model was wearing a recently completed and unreleased design. The dress was a deep mauve color with flares around the bust and silky appliques at the bottom.
âWhat?â Luisa looked at Thalassa as if there was something wrong with her. âThis is perfect. It looks so good on her and would look absolutely good on anyone as long as the right adjustments are made.â
They were in the showroom where their models tried out designs for release or remodeling in order to ensure the best outcome.
But this showcase was particularly important because they were gearing up for a fashion exhibition show that was coming soon.
It was one of the biggest exhibition shows, giving several designers the chance to showcase their works. So they , couldnât just pick any dresses. They had to pick the best of the best dresses for that show.
Thalassa bit her lip, analyzing the dress. No matter what Luisa said, she just felt like there was something missing.
âIf you would let me, Thalassa, I would like to give my opinion,â the model said hesitantly.
Thalassa had told all of her workers to address her by name and be free around her, but they always seemed shy in doing so.
She flashed the 19âyearâold woman a warm smile. âGo on.
âI agree with Luisa, but I donât think thatâs the main problem. I think it has to do with the slit in the flare around the waist. It wasnât necessary, if Iâm being honest. I think sealing it for a normal flare will make it perfect.â
Thalassa couldnât help but beam as she nodded her head, finally realizing what had been missing all along. She looked at Luisa, and from the look on her face, she also agreed.
Thalassa looked back at the young woman. âThank you, Meg. You may go change now, but before that, I just want you to know that you have a very good eye. Keep it up, and not only will you become a successful model, but you might also become a very successful designer.â
âThank you.â The young woman blushed before making her way into the changing room.
Once she was gone, Luisa let out a chuckle. âAt least I was half right.â
Before Thalassa could say anything, Luisaâs phone, which was behind them on a chair, rang. Luisa turned to pick it up, and seeing that it was Millicent, she answered.
âHey, Millie. Whatâs up?â
At the other end, Millie cleared her throat before speaking. âUh, Luisa, do you have any plans for tonight?â
âNot really. Why? Whatâs up?â Luisa answered.
âGreat. Would you like to hang out at a restaurant bar later?â Millie asked.
Luisa pondered. âSure. I donât have anything to do, so we can definitely hang out.â
âJust so you know, Alden is going to be there too,â Millie quickly said.
Luisa froze. âAlden? You mean Krisâs friend? What would he be doing there?â
Were Millie and Alden together that they were already going out together? Her chest tightened for reasons she couldnât explain.
1/2 Chapter 69 +25 BONUS âThe truth is he was the one who suggested that we go out and he asked me to invite you. He also said you could bring Thalassa as well.â
Luisa didnât know how to feel about this. âI see.â
âSo what do you say? Will you come?â Millie asked.
Seeing the uncertain look on Luisaâs face, Thalassa inquired, âWhat is it?â
Bringing the phone down from her ear, Luisa covered the mouthpiece before answering. âShe said that she and Alden would be going out, and he asked her to invite me.â
Thalassa was pleased, smiling. âSo? Whatâs the problem?â
Luisa frowned. âWhy would he ask her to invite me when heâs going out with her?â
âOh, Luisa, isnât it obvious?â Thalassa chuckled. âYouâre the one he wants to go out with, but he obviously âcouldnât ask you outright. Thatâs why heâs doing it through Millie. I think he likes you too.â
âToo? Lassa-â
âOh please, Luisa. You can deny it, but I can see that you feel something for him too, so why donât you just accept the invitation?â
Luisa thought about it for a few seconds. âOkay, Iâll accept. But he said I could bring you too, so youâre definitely coming with me.â
Thalassa shook her head. âNo, thereâs no need for me to come. Millie will be there too, no?â
âCome on, Lassa. Millie might be there, but I need you too as support. Besides, you donât have anything to do tonight. Please come with me.â
Thalassa sighed, raising her hand in surrender. âFine. Fine. Iâll go with you.â
