Another slap landed on Karen’s face, followed by another, and another. Karen’s ears were ringing and her head spinning from the pain radiating through her. She felt too overwhelmed to even attempt to hit Luisa back. All she , could do was grab onto Kris’s arm and cling to it.

“Kris, save me. She’s going to kill me. She’s going to kill me.”

She tried to hide behind Kris, but he shoved her away as he growled, “Don’t you ever fucking dare touch me again. You don’t know how much you disgust me–how much I detest you with every fiber of my being.”

Karen stared back at him with tears and desperation in her eyes. “But... but I did it all for you!”

Kris’s nostrils flared incredulously. “You did it for me?”

“Yes,” Karen nodded earnestly. “I did it for you. I did it for us so that we could finally be together.”

“Finally be together? What the fuck made you believe that I wanted to be with you?”

His lips curled in disgust, but it was directed more at himself than at her. How could he have been so blind and stupid? How did he never see through her fakeness to see the snake she truly was inside?

“Because I knew it. I knew that deep down you loved me too, but Thalassa came along, seduced you, and stole you from me,”

Karen lamented.

“And that’s why you had someone assault her?” Luisa raged, about to pounce on Karen again, but Karen immediately ran and cowered behind Kris.

“Why don’t you face me and try to continue explaining, you bitch?!” Luisa hissed.

“Don’t worry, Luisa,” Kris said. “She can explain herself to the judge.”

Karen froze, her eyes looking like they were going to pop out of their sockets. “Ju... judge? What are you talking about?”

A few seconds later, a door on one side of the restaurant that had been closed burst open, and three men in police uniforms stepped out.

Karen’s heart raced furiously with fear. “What are these officers doing here, Kris? What are they here to do?”

The guards holding the stripper immediately let him go so the police officers could take him. Seeing an opportunity, the stripper tried to dash out of the restaurant but the police officer was much quicker. He tripped the man with his foot and slammed him to the floor before handcuffing him.

“Edward Evans, you are under arrest for committing the crimes of sexual assault, drugging an individual without their consent, and participating in the creation and distribution of illicit photographs. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to an 1/2 +25 BONUS Chapter 74 attorney. “No, please! You can’t arrest me! My mother is sick!” The stripper began thrashing on the floor, then strained his neck to look up at Kris pleadingly. “Please, I beg of you. I only did what that bitch paid me to do. You can’t arrest me! I can’t go to prison, please.”

Kris’s lips twisted in disdain. “You should’ve thought better of it before accepting the money and laying your filthy hands on my wife. I’m going to make sure today is the last day you see the light outside of prison walls.”

Thalassa stiffened at the way he referred to her, while Zeke fumed.

Another police officer grabbed Karen’s arm. “Karen Miller, you are under arrest for conspiracy to commit sexual assault, drugging an individual without their consent, and orchestrating the creation and distribution of illicit photographs. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to an attorney. If you cannot afford one, one will be provided for you. Do you understand these rights as they have been read to you?”

“No, I don’t agree with any of this. Let go of me!” Karen fumed as the handcuffs were slipped onto her wrists. ” Officer, you’re making a big mistake. I’m being framed. You have to believe me.”

“Like Mr. Miller said, you can explain that to the judge.”

“Kris, you can’t do this. You can’t let them arrest me! I am your wife and the mother of your child! How can you have me arrested because of Thalassa? Our daughter needs me,” Karen pleaded.

“My daughter will be fine without you because she doesn’t need a snake like you as her mother,” Kris sneered.

Tears streamed down Karen’s face. “Kris, no! I’m begging you. I’m sorry, but please don’t let them lock me up.”

“You’re sorry?” A bitter chuckle slipped through Kris’s barely controlled rage. “Because of you, I lost the happiness I could’ve had with the woman I love. I tortured her and made her suffer all through our marriage because I thought I was punishing her for betraying me and cheating on me when she’d never done anything like that. And you think your sorry is going to make all that right?”

His eyes intensified with more hatred, all for Karen, as he looked at the police officers. “Take them away.”

“Wait!” Karen suddenly screamed. “If you’re going to arrest me, then there’s someone else you need to arrest- your mother!”

Kris stiffened, his gaze darkening. “What did you say?”

“I said you have to arrest your mother too! She was the mastermind behind the plan. She was the one who told me to do it!”
