Chapter 82
The CEO's Amazing Ex-Wife Is Back!
Chapter 82 The next morning, in her holding cell, Karen was going crazy as she paced up and down. Every once in a while, she screamed, âThis is an injustice! Get me the fuck out of here! I donât belong here! This is an injustice. I havenât done anything!â
She was sharing the cell with two other women. It disgusted her so much that she had to share the place with actual criminals.
âSweetheart, shut your mouth, or Iâll shut it for you,â one of the women finally snapped. âCanât you see weâre trying to think?â
âBut Iâm innocent!â Karen protested. âTheyâre framing me The other woman rolled her eyes. âThatâs what we all say. Itâs like a game we know we can never win, yet we still keep playing.â
âNo, Iâm serious. Iâm innocent. Theyâre framing me for something I didnât do. Havenât you seen how theyâve even refused me the phone call Iâm entitled to?â
âWe donât give a fuck, princess,â the other woman hissed, eager for Karen to shut up. âYou might be wearing fancy clothes, but in here, weâre all the same. So, show us some respect and shut your mouth like a good girl, or weâll give you a taste of what prisonâs like before youâre even transferred.â
Karen scrunched her face in disgust but was wise enough to stay quiet, knowing the womanâs threat wasnât an empty one.
Just then, a police officer walked up to their door and unlocked it. A huge smile of relief spread across Karenâs face. Finally, this nightmare was about to end.
Immediately, she tried to walk past the officer, but he pushed her back so forcefully that she nearly fell.
âWhat the fuck did you think you were trying to do?â the cop questioned, his hand resting on his taser.
Karen was deeply confused. âBut you came to release me, so what have I done wrong?â
âRelease you?â The officer chuckled. âYou have big dreams princess.â
Then he looked at one of the other women. âYour bailâs been paid. Come sign out and get the fuck out of here.â
The woman didnât show the slightest bit of excitement, which made Karen stare at her in horror. It was as if she was used to it.
The cop gave Karen one last glare before locking the door. Karen was shoved into another bout of misery and agitation.
âWhere is my phone call? I know I have a right to a phone call, so I demand it now! Ugh!â
Nobody responded. Karen ran her hands wildly through her hair as she turned away from the door. When she turned back, she froze at who was now standing there.
âThalassa?â
Thalassa flashed her a smile. âHello, Karen. Did you have a great night?â
Karenâs nostrils flared. âDid you come here to mock me?â
âWish I had the time,â Thalassa shrugged. âNo. I only came down to the station to file charges against you and the 1/3 +25 BONUS Chapter 82 dear stripper you hired, and I thought Iâd pass by to say hi.
Hearing this, Karen was instantly thrown into a panic. If Thalassaâs charges were processed, she would be transferred to prison, and getting out without a trial would be difficult.
Now she only had one option: to beg.
Clasping her hands in front of her, she pleaded, âLassa, I beg of you. Please have mercy on-
11 âItâs Thalassa to you,â Thalassa said calmly, though her expression hardened slightly.
âOkay, Thalassa,â Karen swallowed. âYou have to get me out of here. Please, I beg you. I canât take it anymore. I canât stand this place.â
Thalassa raised an eyebrow. âAlready?â She scoffed. âJust one night in here, and you already canât stand it?â
She stepped closer to the cell. âDo you remember when I was arrested? You and your accomplice framed me and had me jailed.
I spent three days in the same cold, bare cell. Not a single person came to visit me.â
âI had nothing to do with your arrest!â Karen denied. âThat was all Lindaâs doing.â
Thalassa snorted. âJust like what you did to me on my wedding night was also Lindaâs plan?â
âYes,â Karen said earnestly. âYouâve got to believe me. I didnât want to do it because I never wanted to hurt you, but she made me. I donât know how she convinced me.â
She reached her hand through the bars, attempting to touch Thalassaâs hand, but when Thalassa glared down at it, she quickly withdrew.
âThalassa, I could have let that man rape you. Thatâs what Linda wanted, but I didnât. I strictly warned him not to because, despite everything, you were still my friend, and I didnât want to harm you.â
Thalassa didnât know whether to laugh or reach through the bars and slap the life out of Karen.
âSo what, Karen? Am I supposed to be grateful that you didnât allow that man to rape me but instead violated my privacy and assaulted me?â
Karen bit her lip, unable to answer as the expression on Thalassaâs face hardened further.
âAnd what about my unborn child, Karen? You and Linda sent that man to attack me, and you killed my baby.
âNo! I promise I had nothing to do with it,â Karen denied. âLinda sent that man to attack you, but she never told me anything beforehand. It wasnât until the next day that she told me. I was horrified and told her she shouldnât have done it, but she said killing your child was the only way to ensure you didnât return to tráp Kris again.â
Thalassa felt a surge of rage brewing inside her. Somehow, she knew everything Karen had just told her was the truth. That was how much Linda Miller despised her. But that didnât change the fact that Karen had been the womanâs accomplice.
âNow that Iâve told you everything, will you please get me out of here?â Karen sounded hopeful.
âIâll get you out of here on one condition,â Thalassa said. âBeg me for forgiveness.â
Karen frowned. âBut thatâs what Iâm doing. Please...â
âOn your knees,â Thalassa commanded.
Karenâs eyes widened in disbelief. âYou canât possibly be serious.â
Thalassa shrugged. âYou wonât do it? Then fine. Iâm leaving.â
2/3 Chapter 82 +25 BONUS As she attempted to leave, Karen instantly panicked. âOkay fine. Iâll do it.â
Her face red with humiliation and tears of embarrassment Brightening her eyes, Karen slowly lowered herself to her knees.
âThalassa, I...I beg you to please forgive me for everything Iâve done to you and for being Lindaâs accomplice. Please forgive me and get me out of here. Please.â
Thalassa wished she would feel the satisfaction she had hoped for, seeing Karen on her knees, but that satisfaction was nowhere to be found.
While Karen was still begging, Thalassa turned and began walking away.
Karenâs eyes widened. âYouâre going to arrange for my release, right?â
Thalassa paused and turned back to face her. âArrange your release? What are you talking about?â
âKaren instantly shot to her feet. âBut you promised.â
A mirthless chuckle left Thalassaâs lips. âHow does it feel to be on the other end of betrayal, my dear best friend?â
With that, she turned and sashayed away.
Pulling her phone out of her handbag, she hit save on the voice recording her phone had just recorded.
