The CEO's Amazing Ex-Wife Is Back!
Chapter 95 Chapter 95 +25 BONUS Karenâs hands shook as she raised her head to meet Krisâs cold eyes. âI donât... I donât understand. What is this?â
His nostrils flared impatiently. âI donât remember you being illiterate.â
âDivorce? Kris, you canât divorce me,â she protested.
âDo you still doubt something even when you have evidence in your hand? Just sign the divorce papers, Karen. I canât continue being married to a woman like you. This marriage shouldnât have happened in the first place.â
âBut... but what about the luggage? Why have you brought all my things out?â
Kris glared at her. âSince you seem to have lost your comprehension abilities, I will explain it to you. I donât want you in this house, not in my life.â
âBut... Tessa... what about our daughter? You canât separate me from her,â Karen said, turning her panicked eyes âto her mother, who was standing behind her. âMom, please tell him that what heâs trying to do is wrong.â
Rita felt helpless, unable to say anything. As much as she knew Kris was taking things too far by trying to keep Karen away from Tessa, she also understood his anger.
âMy daughter is better off without you and will be well taken care of. You will be allowed to visit her twice a week, but thatâs it. Itâs all in the divorce agreement,â Kris stated firmly.
âWell, I donât agree with this!â Karen hissed and threw the papers on the floor. âI want to live with my daughter like I always have.
Sheâs my daughter, and she deserves to be with me.â
âSheâs right, Kris,â Aunt Cynthia chimed in. âAsk any psychologist, and theyâll tell you a child her age needs to grow up with the love of their mother.â
âForgive me, but I didnât ask for your opinion, Aunt,â Kris snapped, startling Cynthia.
She wasnât the only one standing behind him. Linda and Tyler were also there. Karen felt bitter because Linda wasnât even doing anything to change Krisâs mind.
Kris turned his glare back on Karen. âThrowing those papers away wonât change my mind. You and I are going to get divorced on those terms.â
Tears streamed down Karenâs face as she suddenly fell to her knees, gripping Krisâs leg. âPlease, donât kick me out, Kris. I beg you. Donât separate me from my daughter.â
âYour actions caused this,â Kris spat, about to shove her off his leg when a sweet, tiny, and confused voice spoke.
âDaddy, why is Mommy crying?â
Kris spun around, his eyes narrowing at the nanny. He couldnât control his voice as he spoke. âBoatemaa, I told you not to bring her down here and to keep her in her room! Why did you bring her here?â
Boatemaa quickly explained. âIâm sorry, Sir. I told your sister, but she still insisted on bringing the girl here.â
Krisâs dark look fell on his sister, Susan, who was standing beside the nanny. âWhat the hell is wrong with you? Take her back right now!â
He didnât realize heâd spoken too harshly until his daughter flinched. âDaddy, why are you screaming?â
Kris dragged in a deep breath. âSweetheart, Iâm not screaming. Everything is fine. Please let Boatemaa take you to your room.â
âNo!â Karen immediately rushed toward the little girl, engulfing her in a hug.
1/3 +25 BONUS Chapter 95 âMy darling... my darling. I know you missed me, but Mommyâs back, alright?â
Tessa nodded, but her brows knitted with confusion and worry. âBut Mommy, why are you crying?â
âItâs nothing, sweetie. Your mother is crying because she has to go away again, and-â Kris tried to say, but Karen cut him off.
âNo, heâs lying. Mommy is crying because Daddy wants to send her far, far away. Daddy wants to separate me from you, Tessa.â
Tessa turned to look at him with wide eyes. âDaddy, why do you want to send Mommy away?â
Kris gritted his teeth. He couldnât believe Karen was trying to use their daughter to spin things in her favor. How could Thalassa have even thought of dropping the charges against her? She was still as manipulative as ever.
Before he could speak, Karen spoke again. âBecause Daddy doesnât love me anymore. Thatâs why he wants to send me away.
But you donât want that, right? Tell Daddy that you want to stay with Mommy.â
Tessa did exactly that, turning her saddened eyes toward Kris. âDaddy, donât send Mommy away. I want to stay with Mommy.â
âTessa-â
Linda finally stepped forward. âKris, are you really sure you want to do this? Just look at your daughter. Sheâs about to cry. Donât you think it would be too cruel of you to send Karen away? I know she has made a lot of mistakes, but sheâs still the girlâs mother and she loves her.â
The more Karen cried, the more Tessaâs eyes brimmed with tears until she began crying too. âPlease, Daddy. Donât send Mommy away.â
Her tears were like several pins being poked into Krisâs skin until he couldnât take it anymore. He would find another way. But for now, he couldnât stand seeing his daughter cry. He immediately knelt in front of her.
âDonât worry, sweetheart. Your mother is going to stay with you. Iâm not going to send her away,â he said as he wiped the tears from her face while glaring at Karen out of the corner of his eye.
âPromise, Daddy?â
Kris was left dismayed, running a hand through his hair. Seeing the pleading look in her soft cyan eyes, he just couldnât refuse.
âYes, sweetie. I promise.â
A heartwarming smile beamed on the little girlâs face as she turned back to her mother. âSee? Daddy wonât send you away.â
âThank you, baby. Youâre an angel,â Karen crooned, feeling immense relief.
Smiling tightly, Kris looked at the nanny and instructed, âPlease take her back to her room, Boatemaa.â
Boatemaa did as told, carrying Tessa away. While they were gone, Kris turned his furious eyes on Karen.
âYou canât help manipulating everything, can you? You had to manipulate our daughter too.â
Karen pleaded. âKris, youâve got to understand. It was the only way I could ensure not to be separated-â
âSave your excuses,â Kris hissed, raising his hand to cut her off. Then he sneered. âIâm leaving this house.â
Karenâs eyes widened. âWhat? No! You donât have to leave. Please, Kris. Letâs save our marriage for our daughterâs sake.â
âStop trying to use Tessa as leverage!â Kris gritted out. âIt doesnât matter what you do. I can never live with a 2/3 +25 BONUS Chapter 95 woman like you again. Youâll hear from my lawyer again soon.â
Linda panicked. When sheâd decided to defend Karen, she hadnât thought it would cause Kris to leave the house.â Son, please reconsider. You donât have to leave.â
Kris shook his head. âIâm sorry, but I have to go, Mom. Iâll go see Tessa first.â
As much as he didnât like the idea of leaving his daughter alone, he was afraid that if he spent even another day in the same house with Karen, he was going to explode and do something he would regret.
Linda fumed. This was all Thalassaâs fault. She was so tired of that lowlife ruining their lives. She had to teach her a lesson.
