1002 Ange Got Beaten Up Last Night

The next morning, Zi Yi walked out of the corridor on the second floor and happened to hear Lu Yunxiao saying to Anya, “Ange got beaten up last night.”

Anya was puzzled. “Why would someone hit him?”

Zi Yi could not resist smiling.

She did not go downstairs. Instead, she went straight to the nursery by the side.

Anya continued speaking, “This means he offended the wrong person. Just ignore him. If he can’t settle it on his own, he will tell me about it.”

Zi Yi walked into the nursery to see Lu Jingye and Mrs. Lu both inside.

Mrs. Lu said to Lu Jingye, “They slept very well last night. Don’t worry. From now on, if you are busy, they can spend the night with me.”

Lu Jingye said, “I’m not busy.”

Zi Yi smiled on hearing the conversation.

Last night, her husband woke up several times in the middle of the night even though the babies were not with them. If she did not stop him, he would have gone to the third floor to take the babies back.

Lu Jingye and Mrs. Lu noticed Zi Yi standing by the door.

Mrs. Lu smiled and said, “Yiyi, can you please do something about your man? He’s trying to steal my grandchildren from me. If this goes on, as their grandmother, this is going to make me feel useless.”

Zi Yi smiled as she walked up in between them and looked at the sleeping babies. She said, “They are still just babies, so they need a lot of sleep if they want to develop properly. When they get bigger, it’s going to be hard for a single person to take care of them both.”

“You’re right, Yiyi. However, I feel happy even just by looking at them all day.”

She checked the time and said, “Forget it. I’m going to make some breakfast for you. I can’t forget my dear daughter-in-law just because I have grandchildren now, right?”

“Heehee. You’re the best. I love your cooking.”

“Good.”

After Mrs. Lu left, Zi Yi and Lu Jingye stood next to the crib looking at the babies.

Zi Yi reached her hand out to touch Guoguo’s tiny fist above her head. She smiled and said, “You can’t bear to be away from them. If you have to go on business trips, what’s going to happen?”

“I will try my best not to go.”

Zi Yi noticed the serious expression on Lu Jingye’s face. She turned to hold him by the neck and said angrily, “Now that you have babies, you don’t love me anymore.”

Lu Jingye hugged her by the waist and said in a deep tone in her ear, “They are our babies. That’s why I love them.”

They were the fruit of their union, so he loved them.

Lu Jingye did not say this out loud, but Zi Yi knew what he meant.

She leaned her head against his chest. “I can’t bear to be away from all of you either. I wish I could take you wherever I went.”

Lu Jingye smiled as he touched her head.

A grunting sound could be heard coming from the crib.

Zi Yi left Lu Jingye’s arms. She looked at Guoguo and asked Lu Jingye, “What’s wrong with Guoguo?”

“She peed.”

As Lu Jingye spoke, he went to bring a fresh diaper to change her.

Zi Yi stood beside him and watched.

Guoguo opened her eyes.

Lu Jingye carried her and said to Zi Yi, “Go make some milk.”

“Is she hungry?”

“Uh huh. Otherwise, she won’t be able to sleep.”

“Oh okay.”

Zi Yi went to make some baby formula and handed Lu Jingye the bottle. Just as they were about to feed Guoguo, Tangtang woke up as well.

Tangtang did not make noises or cry often. He simply moved around to remind the adults he was there.

Lu Jingye spotted Tangtang, so he said to Zi Yi, “Go prepare one more bottle of milk. Tangtang is hungry too.”

Zi Yi went to make another bottle of milk. When she came back, she wanted to carry Tangtang.

Lu Jingye hurriedly said, “Don’t move. Feed him while he’s on the bed.”

Zi Yi felt annoyed. “Why are you allowed to carry Guoguo but Tangtang has to lie on the bed?”

“Do you know how to carry babies?”

“Yes, I do.”

As she spoke, Zi Yi carried Tangtang.

Lu Jingye felt nervous just looking at her.

Zi Yi carried Tangtang and sat down beside him. She proceeded to feed the baby deftly and said, “See? Told you I could do it, right?”

Lu Jingye finally felt a peace of mind and continued feeding Guoguo.

When the babies were done eating, Lu Jingye taught Zi Yi how to burp Tangtang.

After they had fallen asleep, Lu Jingye and Zi Yi finally went downstairs.

The others were already downstairs.

Second Master Lu said, “Your third uncle and Little Ming have already left. Other than that, Nangong Yu is going as well.”

The moment Second Master Lu mentioned Nangong Yu, Zi Yi was caught by surprise. “Didn’t he say he wasn’t taking part? Why did he change his mind?”

“It was the marshall’s decision.”

A few days later, the second batch of trainees gathered at a farm in a rural area in the capital.

The remaining candidates clearly looked confident.

For the rest of the week, Zi Yi genuinely spent all her time at the base. When she missed Lu Jingye and the babies a lot, she would have video calls with them.

Seven days later, only eight people remained after eliminating over 90 candidates.

“Miss Zi, you eliminated so many candidates. How are you going to operate the spaceship?”

Some of the eliminated candidates did not take it well.

“I’m usually pretty good. I just wasn’t sure about the test environment since it was my first time.”

“I think so too. How could you decide so quickly that we don’t make the cut?”

Zi Yi looked at the indignant candidates and said, “I didn’t say you were no good. I’m just saying that you can’t be the first batch of people in outer space. If you like, you can continue training here for half a year and undergo testing again.”

“Half a year? That long?”

“I think I’m ready to do a second test now.”

The moment Zi Yi heard what they said, she smiled and said coldly, “Do you really want to undergo a second test? If I didn’t give you fear decompression therapy, some of you would have probably gone crazy by now.”

She said to a number of people, “Now, you will proceed with the next level of training.”
