Chapter 1017 - Chapter 1017: Isn’t It Good That People Want to Be Like You?

It was a 20 minute walk to Metropolis University from Zi Yi’s villa. On the way, there was a lot of greenery to give shade, so it was not very hot.

Zi Yi walked for some time before she held Lu Jingye’s hand and said, “Ah Jing, shall I activate your mental energy in a couple of days? I’m heading to the base in a few days’ time, so why don’t you come along with me? You can train at the base for half a day and spend the rest of the day working.”

Lu Jingye held her hand tightly. To be honest, he could not bear to part with her. He pondered and asked, “Can the kids come along?”

Since the kids were small, he would rather bring them along with him.

Zi Yi also could not bear to part with the twins. She tilted her head sideways and pondered briefly. She blinked at him and said, “If you can convince Mom to let us take the kids then yes.”

Lu Jingye smiled. “I’ll do my best.”

After walking out of Metropolis University, they arrived at the shopping district nearby which had lots of shops.

The moment she spotted cold drinks for sale, Zi Yi pulled Lu Jingye into the cold drink store.

“Can we get a couple of cold drinks? It’s simply too hot.”

The two of them stood at the cashier inside the cold drink store. It was still school hours, so there were hardly any students outside.

But the moment they entered the store, they still garnered a lot of attention from the people inside.

“Those two look very familiar.”

“Other than the Goddess and her hubby, who else can it be?”

“AHHH! I’m so excited. I didn’t expect to run into the Goddess and her hubby here.”

“The Goddess is as pretty as ever. Is she going to school today?”

“I wish I could go over and say hi.”

Not before long, the students in the shop recognized her and felt thrilled.

Even the cashier felt excited.

After checking the menu for some time, Zi Yi asked Lu Jingye, “Ah Jing, what do you want to drink?”

“Iced water.”

“Who goes to a cold drink store to get iced water? Why don’t you have bayberry juice without sugar?”

“Okay.”

Zi Yi said to the cashier, “Give me one bayberry juice and one watermelon juice.

She took out her phone and tapped on it as she asked, “How much?”

“Five dollars… fifty.”

“Okay. I’ve sent the money.”

After the cashier prepared the drinks, she handed them to Zi Yi and asked excitedly, “Are you Zi Yi?”

Zi Yi nodded.

The cashier looked so excited that she nearly jumped for joy. She quickly asked, “I’m doing my fourth year in university now. I was wondering if I should continue doing a doctorate. Can you give me any suggestions?”

“What do you major in?”

“Environmental engineering.”

“Each area demands a different kind of research. Are you planning to do something at a deeper level or not.”

“I naturally want to do deeper level research. In recent years, the environment has gone through severe damage. The ozone layer has become thin, the ocean temperature is fluctuating, and sandstorms are happening. The climate has also changed strangely. I want to study everything.”

“Do you have the ability to research everything?”

The woman suddenly stopped talking.

Zi Yi said, “No matter what. Just work within your limits. If you can become an expert in just one field, it’s considered an achievement.”

“I… I want to be like you. I want to be an all-rounder.”

Everyone could not resist laughing.

Even though Zi Yi did not laugh, she gave it to the cashier straight. “If you want to be like me, you need to come up with ideas that are more advanced than this time and age. Also, you need to make your ideas a reality. Can you do that?”

The woman’s face promptly turned red.

Zi Yi took the drinks and walked toward the entrance with Lu Jingye. As they walked, she said, “If you can improve any of the problematic areas, even just one of them, you’re considered good. Otherwise, stop having these unrealistic dreams.”

The woman looked at them from behind as they left. She clenched her fists tightly and said loudly, “I will definitely succeed.”

Her voice was cut off by the glass door.

After walking out of the cold drink store, Zi Yi said, “That girl was a little in over her head.”

Lu Jingye took a sip of the drink in his hand. He still preferred plain iced water. He spoke with the drink in his hand. “Lots of people want to be like you. Isn’t it good?”

Zi Yi nodded. She pondered and suddenly came up with an excellent idea. “My research lab and aviation research base both require talent. Maybe I can talk to the Headmaster about it later. I can choose up to a hundred people to train every year.”

Lu Jingye contemplated for some time and said, “If you really want to do it, you can start two classes in your name. You should accept students from all over the world. Anyone with ability should be permitted to enter your class.”

“Great idea!” Zi Yi’s eyes lit up. “That way I won’t have to blindly search for talent. If I groom them personally, I can send robots to give classes. I won’t have to worry that normal teachers are unable to teach what I have to offer.”

The more Zi Yi spoke, the more excited she got. Her footsteps unconsciously quickened.

“Let’s go see the Headmaster now.”

The Headmaster had called some school leaders over and were in the middle of a discussion.

Zi Yi was a legend at Metropolis University. She had done the school proud. Also, the resources available on campus could compare to the best schools abroad. It made sense no one was interested in foreign student exchanges.

Everyone started talking about this.

“Little Yi’s the best advertising any school could ask for. We have the most applicants in the country this year, so even students with good grades were unable to get in. Considering this, no one wants to go on foreign exchanges.”

“Exactly. Even though Little Yi doesn’t have time for school, she’s still our student. A lot of people want to get in so that they have the chance to see her. No one wants to go abroad.”

The sound of knocking could suddenly be heard at the door. Everyone automatically turned to look.

Zi Yi smiled brightly as she stood there and asked, “Are you saying bad things about me behind my back?”

Everyone froze briefly before they burst out laughing.

Zi Yi and Lu Jingye walked in holding drinks in their hands. Everyone automatically looked at the drink in Lu Jingye’s hand.

Zi Yi took a sip of her drink and said, “Ah Jing and I have something to discuss with the Headmaster.”

The Vice Dean smiled and said jokingly, “Just the Headmaster? Does it mean we have to leave?”

“No, feel free to stay.” Zi Yi smiled brightly as she said, “It’s nothing big. I wanted to ask the Headmaster if I could start two classes in my name. I will plan the courses for those classes. After the students graduate, they will be sent directly to my research lab and aviation research base.”
