1040 Side Story

When the spaceship jumped through space, Tangtang and Guoguo were asleep.

By the time they woke up, the spaceship had already arrived at the third space.

Standing by the window and looking at the boundless universe, Guoguo’s eyes were filled with incomprehension. “Why does it look the same as the space we were in? I thought that the stars here would look more beautiful than those in our space.”

Martha, who was standing by their side and taking care of them, said with a smile. “It’ll look the same when seen from a distance. It is composed of various planets, but the technology here is much more developed than ours. Many planets here can accommodate intelligent bodies and many of these intelligent bodies have their own separate planets.”

Martha looked at the two adorable children with a smile on her face. For children as young as five years old to have such awareness and motivation, probably only a few intelligent bodies from the higher civilizations would possess such attitudes.

Just then, Runge walked over from the side.

“Leader.” Martha greeted him.

Runge looked at Tangtang and Guoguo. “In half a month, we will be approaching a planet with life forms. We will alight and replenish some food and energy.”

“Really? Can we finally stop eating nutrient solutions every day?”

Guoguo nearly jumped for joy.

Runge saw her elated appearance and felt somewhat remorseful deep down inside. These two children had been surviving on the nutrient solutions together with them for a few months. It was indeed time for them to find edible food for the children.

“Yay! Guoguo loves fruits the most.”

Guoguo happily clapped her hands together and started jumping around.

Even Tangtang revealed traces of expectancy.

Half a month later, Runge ordered the spaceship to approach the planet that was several times larger than Earth.

When their spaceship was about to dock on the planet, they received attacks from the lifeforms there.

Fortunately, their attack wasn’t too powerful. Under Runge’s forceful maneuver, the spaceship managed to dock.

After docking, Runge sent some people down to negotiate with the native planet.

Soon, his subordinates returned to report. “Leader, the lifeforms on this planet have agreed for us to remain here for a few days.”

Since the negotiations were done, Runge brought the two children down.

When they came out of the spaceship, they saw a group of lifeforms that resembled elves who had horns on their heads standing opposite. These people did not seem tall and the tallest among them was only around a meter and a half.

After they alighted, one of them walked out with a crutch in hand. He then started talking for some time.

Fortunately, everyone onboard had undergone training for many different languages and it just so happened that everyone could understand what they were saying.

The one who stepped forward was the Elder of the planet. He said, “We can allow you convenience and stay for a few days. However, you can’t rob us of what we produce. Else, don’t blame us for being rude.”

Runge got a female subordinate to step out and answer. “Hello, we are only passing by here and we want to replenish some food and energy. You can rest assured that we will find these ourselves and we will never rob you.”

After hearing what the woman said, the lifeforms quickly discussed among themselves and agreed.

After they agreed, all of them left.

The moment they left, it was as though they were the only ones left on this planet.

They did not see a single native of the planet or any buildings.

“Where do these people stay? Why haven’t we seen any of them even after walking for so long?”

“Perhaps their buildings are invisible. The lifeforms here don’t seem to possess any attack power. Since they lack the means to attack, they would surely have the ability to protect themselves.”

As the planet was too big, Runge took half of them out to find food and energy.

The remaining half was left behind to guard the spaceship and protect Tangtang and Guoguo.

A day after Runge’s group left, Guoguo who had been obediently staying on the spaceship could not hold back anymore. She looked at the planet outside the spaceship and pulled Tangtang’s sleeve while speaking excitedly. “Brother, I want to go down and play,”

Tangtang said with a stern expression. “No. Uncle Runge told us not to run around before he left.”

Guoguo pulled his sleeve and acted coquettishly. “We won’t rush around, we’ll just play near the spaceship.”

Even Martha who was standing by the side supported her. “Tangtang, you guys can go for a walk near the spaceship. There are people keeping watch in the surroundings. What’s more, there are no aggressive lifeforms here. Don’t worry.”

Tangtang thought about it for a short while before he looked at the eager Guoguo. “Only the surroundings.”

Guoguo assured him. “Only the surroundings.”

Tangtang grabbed Guoguo’s hand and alighted from the ship under the protection of several people.

It’s been a long time since she had seen any plants and Guoguo felt that everything was novel. In particular, she saw a huge flower growing on a tree.

“No. We can’t be sure if the tree and flower are poisonous or not. Don’t touch it at random.”

The group continued walking around for some time. Soon, they arrived at the edge of a forest.

Just then, all the plants emitted fog and soon, a layer of fog headed in their direction.

Just when everyone was feeling amazed by the new species of tree they saw, Tangtang suddenly furrowed his brow and shouted, “It’s not fog. It’s poisonous gas. Everyone, quickly return to the ship!”

Having said that, he grabbed Guoguo’s hand and was about to turn around.

However, the fog intensified and rapidly approached them.

Everyone was shrouded in smoke in an instant. Subsequently, their bodies turned soft and they lost consciousness.

By the time Tangtang woke up, he discovered himself in a closed space.

A whimper could be heard next to him and was followed by Guoguo’s voice. “Brother, Guoguo’s head feels dizzy. It’s uncomfortable.”

Tangtang breathed a sigh of relief after hearing her voice.

He quickly turned to Guoguo next to him.

Both of them were lying on the ground. With the exception of them, there was no one else around.

He got up on his feet and walked to Guoguo’s side and pulled her up from the floor.

Guoguo also noticed that they were no longer where they were previously and she asked in surprise, “Brother, where are we? Is there such a place on the spaceship? It’s so cold.”

She then quickly leaned against Tangtang while her small body was still shivering.

Tangtang held Guoguo’s hand and said, “Don’t be afraid. Father told us that if we arrive in an unfamiliar environment, we have to stay calm and survey our surroundings.”

“What if we fall in the hands of bad people?”

The two of them laughed. After laughing, both of them turned silent.

Guoguo leaned her body closer toward Tangtang.

“Brother, are we captured by those lifeforms that look like elves?”

“Those lifeforms did not seem to be scary people, but did they capture us?”

Tangtang held Guoguo’s hand and walked around. He wanted to check how they could escape from this place.

Guoguo also took a look at their surroundings.

Tangtang and Guoguo could not understand him.

After the giant came closer, they noticed that he was holding two cups of puree-looking food. Moreover, his appearance was similar to Earthlings, just that he was taller. There were also some unknown markings drawn on his face which made him look particularly scary.

Guoguo hid behind Tangtang out of fear.

Tangtang blocked Guoguo and looked at the man warily. He wanted to see what the other party was trying to do.

Before the man walked over, his finger tapped on the wall and soon, a table with two chairs appeared.

The man pointed at the two cups on the table before making an eating gesture.

Tangtang and Guoguo did not move.

The man seemed to get angry and slammed the table. A crack was formed on it.

The two children subconsciously trembled.

The man seemed to be satisfied with their reaction and turned to leave.

After the man left, Tangtang stared at the door. Once it closed shut, he quickly ran over.

Guoguo followed his footsteps.

“Brother, what are you doing?”

“I’m trying to see how to open this door.”

Guoguo followed him and searched together.

Both of them searched all around the wall but did not manage to find anything.

“Could it be that it can only be opened from the outside?” Guoguo furrowed her brows.

“Mhmm.” Tangtang thought for a while and headed to the dining table. While walking, he said, “That man should have bought food. Let’s eat first.”

“What if it’s something inedible?”
