Chapter 802 - We Can Teach Her What Real Robots Are When the Time Comes

Every robot team had ten minutes to display their robots.

The internet who had been arguing fiercely had all remained silent when the respective teams were displaying their robots.

No matter to what extent the robot technology of these teams had progressed to, it was undeniable that they were all amazing.

When the BE robot club rushed over (they had encountered a traffic jam along the way) at 10 a.m, there was no grand welcome that they had originally expected. Instead, they were greeted by two members of the Robotics Association.

The BE robot team was instantly unhappy.

The group of people who had yet to alight from the car looked at the two people standing there and said angrily, “What’s with the attitude of these people? How dare they get two random people to welcome us?”

“This is being disrespectful to international friends. Aren’t they afraid the netizens will curse them to death?”

“If their leader does not come over and welcome us personally, we will not alight.”

“I should post something on my social media and let my fans see how the capital treats guests who came from thousands of miles away.”

Following that, someone took out his mobile phone and posted something on his social media.

The first one to alight from the car was the manager leading the team.

The manager asked the two people who came out to receive them with a not-so-friendly expression, “Why didn’t the leaders of your country come out to receive us?”

Zhang Hong smiled, but his smile did not reach his eyes. “Mr. Smith, the exhibition has already been ongoing for quite some time and our leaders are all spectating the exhibition. Moreover, they have to give advice to the various teams participating and they are unable to leave the venue.”

Smith did not realize the sarcasm in Zhang Hong’s words and he still continued talking in a displeased tone. “Didn’t we say that we were going to be arriving late? Why did you start without waiting for us?”

Zhang Hong revealed a surprised expression. “Mr. Smith, you should have seen and known about the time that the exhibition starts. Moreover, this exhibition’s start time had been set half a month ago.”

Li Chen added on. His words were not as polite as Zhang Hong. “Mr. Smith did not contact our country when we released news of the robot exhibition to tell us that your team will be coming to participate in the robot exhibition. It was only yesterday that you contacted us through your Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We are a punctual country and Mr. Smith can’t possibly force us to disregard punctualness, right?”

Smith furrowed his brows upon hearing that. There were various local media teams currently filming and he could not possibly say anything. He ended up saying, “It’s because our plane was a little delayed and coupled with the traffic jam, we couldn’t arrive on time. Otherwise, we wouldn’t have been late either.”

“Oh? So Country D only has one plane that flies to our country.”

His words caused Smith’s frown to tighten. He was burning with rage, but it was not an appropriate venue to lash out. He secretly took a deep breath and said, “Since that is the case, then did the Robotics Association arrange a display booth for us?”

“Yes, it’s been prepared. But all the teams coming to the robot exhibition have received their numbers and so you can only showcase your robots at the very end now.”

Smith felt that the team that showcased last was the main highlight of the exhibition. From the looks of it, it seems like the Robotics Association did not dare to offend them.

At the thought of this, he suddenly felt better deep down inside.

His expression also looked better than before. “It’s not a problem. We were late and so we ought to be the last team to showcase. In that case, I’ll go have a talk with the team members.”

Having said that, he turned around and went back to the car.

Li Chen looked at Smith’s back view and approached Zhang Hong. He sneered and whispered in a volume that only the both of them could hear, “This group of people really think that they are such influential figures? I can’t believe they even wanted our leaders to personally come out and welcome them.”

The corner of Zhang Hong’s lips curved into a sneer, but he did not continue on that topic. He merely said as though he did not quite understand, “I wonder what the leaders are thinking. How could they arrange for their team to be the last to appear?”

“These visitors are guests but if they had not gone through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who would be willing to care about them? Not only did they come uninvited, but they’re also acting as though our place is somewhere they can show off airs as they like.”

After that the both of them kept their mouths shut and waited for Smith to go back and have a discussion with the team members.

Smith got back into the car and said to the members, “Being last to appear is equivalent to being the finale. When the time comes, you guys should give a good show. Their development of robot technology is at least 20 years behind ours and you should let them witness what real robotics is.”

“As far as their robots are concerned, only they themselves think they’re good. Any random robots from our robot club are capable of silencing them in a second.”

“That’s right. If not because I wanted to come and have fun here, I wouldn’t have even come to this exhibition that poses no challenge at all.”

“I heard that the beautiful-looking woman is also participating in the robot exhibition today. We can teach her what real robots are when the time comes.”

“I heard that she’s very arrogant. Why don’t we compete with her robots and when she loses to us, we’ll get her to play with us?”

“This is a good idea, I like it. Hahaha...”

These people did not take this exhibition seriously at all. All of them were imagining the scene of having Zi Yi accompany them.

Smith waited for them to finish talking before he said in passing, “The identity of her man isn’t simple at all. You guys should take it easy.”

“It’s just a normal exchange of pointers and we’ll get her to accompany us to eat and drink if she loses. It’s not like we’re asking her to accompany us to bed. Manager, what are you so worried about? Haha...”

The more they talked, the more imaginative they were. As for the fact that the leaders of the capital did not come out to welcome them, they did not mind anymore.

Zhang Hong and Li Chen led the group of people into the lounge.

Zhang Hong said to them, “Everyone. There are still eight teams before you and the exhibition time for each team is ten minutes. You can wait in the lounge or you can also join the audience to watch the exhibition.”

“Why is there still such a long wait?” Someone expressed their dissatisfaction.

Someone also scoffed. “What’s there to see in this robot exhibition? I’m not going.”

Zhang Hong and Li Chen made eye contact with each other. Traces of displeasure flashed past their eyes but they still maintained a smile on their faces.

Just then, Smith said, “I wish to meet your leader and discuss some things with them. Can I?”

Zhang Hong nodded his head and softly said to Li Chen, “Remain here. I’ll lead Mr. Smith over.”

Li Chen nodded his head.

Zhang Hong led Smith to the audience area.

While walking, Smith asked, “Mr. Zhang, I don’t understand why the robot exhibition of your country is being held in a racing club. Isn’t it too casual?”

Zhang Hong did not answer his question. Instead, he asked, “Mr. Smith, did you watch the live broadcast of the robot exhibition?”

Smith paused for a second. In the car, they were only concerned about interacting with their group of agitated fans and so how could they be in the mood to watch the live broadcast?

However, he certainly would not say that. Instead, he said, “Of course, we’ve seen the live broadcast.”

Zhang Hong knew that he did not watch it and said, “Mr. Smith, you can go out and have a look yourself.”

Having said that, he kept quiet and sped up as he led him inside.

When they arrived at the entrance, Smith was shocked by the venue.
