These people had lost the chance to be the first batch of people to enter outer space.

“You don’t have enough people. You need to recruit more. Where do you plan on recruiting them?”

Zi Yi leaned her chin against her hand, thought a little, and said, “A lot of countries are interested in working with me, so I will get them to send their people over.”

Lu Yunxiao felt this was a good idea. He nodded without speaking further.

Zi Yi and Lu Yunxiao proceeded to leave the base but as they walked, someone came running toward them.

It was Qin Ze.

Since Qin Ze was running swiftly, he had to bend over to catch his breath with his hands on his knees when he got to them. After catching his breath, he finally straightened his back and asked Zi Yi, “Did you give them testing today?”

“Uh huh.” Zi Yi asked, “What were you running for?”

A look of annoyance for missing the test emerged on Qin Ze’s face. “I wanted to take part in the test as well. Why didn’t you tell me about it?”

“Aren’t you undergoing training? Why do you want to take the test?”

Qin Ze paused briefly before he said sadly, “I thought about it. I want to take part in the interstellar expedition. I don’t want to continue working stuck in the lab as a researcher.”

Zi Yi looked at him for a few seconds before she nodded. “Fine. You can join the next round of testing. I just want to make things clear. Judging from your physique, I doubt you can take it.”

“I haven’t even taken the test. How can you say I can’t take it?” Qin Ze looked at her confidently. “I think I can handle it.”

Zi Yi did not try to hurt his ego this time. She nodded and said, “In that case, you should start working out. Physical endurance is included in the tests.”

Qin Ze was delighted. He grinned and gestured okay as he said, “Don’t worry. I’m sure I’ll pass the test.”

The moment he finished his sentence, he ran out. As they watched him from behind, they smiled.

Zi Yi sighed. “Look at how excited he is. Perhaps he might just pass the test and enter space with you.”

Lu Yunxiao glanced at her and said nothing.

The two of them went straight back to the Lu residence.

Eldest Master Lu, Third Master Lu, and even Lu Ming were there.

When they saw them, Third Master Lu smiled and greeted them first. “You are home?”

Zi Yi greeted the elders.

Lu Yunxiao also nodded politely to them.

Eldest Master Lu looked at Zi Yi and said with a serious expression on his face, “The higher-ups have their eyes on your candidates. Everyone has seen today’s testing. Do you really have to be so stringent?”

“Uh huh. If I go easy on the selection criteria now and they can’t handle it in space, they might lose their minds out there.”

Eldest Master Lu stopped debating the subject with her.

Third Master Lu said, “Little Yi, what is your selection criteria? Do you think Little Ming can go for testing?”

Zi Yi looked at Lu Ming as he sat there expectantly. She asked, “Isn’t he taking part in the upcoming international military exercise? Why would he want to work with me?”

“Sister-in-law, the testing doesn’t clash with the military exercise. Our future battles will definitely take place in outer space. I want to be the first batch of people to go out there.”

Any courageous and upright man would want to be the first batch of men in space.

Zi Yi nodded and replied, “Fine then. When I have the second batch of candidates, you can get tested with them.”

“Ok.”

Lu Ming promptly beamed from ear to ear.

After the conversation, they went to eat and during the meal, Third Master Lu mentioned the military exercise.

Since he was one of the people in charge, he would go over along with the troops.

“We’re going over two days in advance and people from other countries will probably do the same. The conditions on the islands are perilous and considered public areas, so when we get there, we need to set up the command center in advance.”

Zi Yi asked, “Who’s in charge of the foreign troops?”

Third Master Lu replied, “People from Country D said that Major General Runge is leading the team. However, we heard recently that he turned them down.”

When Eldest Master Lu finally came back, he did not go home at all. She was so anxious that she kept waiting outside Eldest Master Lu’s compound. She only managed to see him striding through the door at midnight the next day.

Eldest Master Lu watched as Yang Yuelan ran over and automatically frowned. “What are you doing here?”

“I…” Yang Yuelan burst into tears out of sheer indignance. She wiped her tears. “Father, after Zhiheng was taken, I haven’t heard any other news about him. Can you find out what they have done to him?”

“What could they possibly do to him?” Eldest Master Lu felt angry. “Little Yi is working on saving him. If not for her, he would be long dead.”

Yang Yuelan did not expect these words from Eldest Master Lu. She was angry and worried. Her lips trembled as she said in tears, “It wasn’t because of me that he’s like this. Why would I hurt Zhiheng?”

“Hmph!”

Eldest Master Lu knew exactly what these women had done to Lu Zhiheng. He spoke with a fierce look on his face. “He’s undergoing treatment now. Don’t even think about seeing him. Feel free to go back to the Yang family if you like.”
