The Alpha & Beta’s Regret – Chapter 153

Rafe POV

He and Jack were sitting in the Luna suite up on the fifth floor, they had been going to put the boys down to sleep in Lucis room, so that they could sleep settled and comfortable until being woken up by Hannah when everything had died down.

He’d walked into her room carrying little Rafe with Jack right behind him, only to come to a complete halt at seeing the complete destruction of the room. The entire loungeroom was in bits and pieces all over the place. The wall where he and Jack had written everything on, that separated the kitchen and dining areas from the living area was just gone, a gaping jagged hole was all that remained.

Shards of it were all over the place, not just in here but in the dining and kitchen as well. They had known that she was up here, but clearly had no idea of just what had been going on inside this room. It was clear that her powers were very strong. That what they had felt; the packhouse shaking and the loud bangs was her up there, destroying everything before her.

It seemed that Luci’s witch powers likely rivalled that of Hannah’s. Perhaps that was why Hannah was teaching her, needed Luci to learn to control it, he supposed. He heard

Jack murmur “Sweet Goddess.” As they both stood there looking at the damage she had wrought in just a matter of a few minutes.

“We’re not going to be using this room.” Rafe commented as he saw all the windows blown out and not just in the kitchen and dining, he could see the balcony doors in the bedroom from here were also blown out.

He could tell from the damage to only one side of the room where she had been standing, or roughly so, this side of the room was completely untouched by damage, though there was scorch marks on the floor, and as he moved his eyes over the floor, he found exactly where she had been standing.

Rafe could see four distinct sets of prints on the floor, three around one, likely Hannah and her sisters had tried to stop her or contain her or something and hadn’t been able to.

“Nope.” Jack stated “Best we find another room.”

“The Luna Suite.” They’d both said a moment later at the same time. They had looked at each other and smiled.

Then just turned and made their way down the hall to the Luna’s Suite, where they’d put both the boys in bed and sat down to wait for Luci to return, knowing she would come for the boys.

They would likely be her first priority; want to see them and make sure that they were okay. He and Jack stayed in that room with the boys. He smiled at the twins, even in a deep sleep state they curled into each other, heard Jack chuckle softly and told him a moment later “Sirens sleep in a big pile on their lake or ocean floor.”

Hed smiled himself, then wondered about that, frowned a little. He and Jack would want to sleep in the same bed as Luci every night and likely be unable to keep their hands to themselves once she was theirs. How was that going to work if the twins were in the same bed as them? Guess that was going to have to be discussed and worked out.

He was sitting waiting for Luci, though he was worried about her and didn’t like that she was off on her own, even with the triplets and Jo-anne going after her. It was usually the Alpha and his Unit to protect pack members. He knew Jack was worried as well, the man barely sat or stood still, was up prowling around inside the Luna Suite.

Many hours passed as they sat or stood around waiting for everyone to come back. It just made both he and Jack more restless the longer they were all gone. He felt the moment Luci, Hannah and her sisters returned to the pack.

Saw Jack look right at him as well there had been nothing and then suddenly the connection to the four of them snapped into place.

“One of us has to stay here with the boys,” Rafe stated, it was just past midnight. He knew Jack would be desperate to see Luci, saw that man’s eyes glaze over and frowned when he only connected to Rafe himself, not to Luci.

He could feel Luci out there but Jack couldn’t seem to mind-link to her, so he tried himself and couldn’t, felt fear roll off Jack. “Let me try the sisters.” Rafe stated, putting a hand on him to try and calm that fear that was welling inside Jack that something was wrong with Luci.

He connected himself to Aalyiah and Giannah, couldn’t get Hannah, but he could feel her out there along with Luci.

They were all together and he could tell they were at Hannah and her sisters’ home out in the forest. ‘Aalyiah, Giannah, what happened?’ he asked.

‘A lot.’ He heard Aalyiah state ‘Both Hannah and Luci are unconscious, is all.’

He felt more worry roll through Jack. ‘Are they hurt?’ he asked, as fear started to really creep into himself.

“No, Luci is exhausted completely is all. She has been in her true Triune state for many hours, used a lot of power this evening. Hannah is recovering. She was injured, we’re healing her as is Luna Jo-anne.’

‘Everyone returned safely then? Jo-anne herself?’

‘Is unharmed, as are Giannah and myself. Hannah was an unfortunate accident, will be okay.’

I’m glad to hear all three of you returned safely, Aalyiah.’

‘Thank you Alpha, as are we. The odds were not so good originally’

“Luci?’ Jack asked.

“You may come and get her Beta, she’ll likely be out cold for a long while, perhaps a whole day. She’s been through a lot. Emotionally and physically exhausted the three of them.’

“A whole day?’ Rafe frowned.

‘Hannah would likely know how long, but..!

‘Is unconscious herself.’ Rafe sighed ‘I’ll send Jack. About the twins?’

Well wake them in the morning, let them sleep for now!’ She disconnected the link.

His eyes were on Jack, “Go, but in human form Jack, no walking around naked with her”

Watched as Jack raised an eyebrow at him and Rafe smiled and shook his own head, “She’ll be naked,” he saw Jack smile a little now “No marking her either while bringing her back.” He pointed right at Jack knowingly.

Saw Jack smile at him now, then he was just gone, literally raced off out of the suite to go and get her to bring her back to the children. Rafe could feel him moving at full wolfen speed to get out there to Luci.

Though coming back, he strolled rather casually, it took him all of 10 minutes to get out there to Hannah and her sister’s place, but almost an hour to walk back into this room with her in his arms.

Luci was all tucked into him, leaning on his chest. Rafe noted she was wearing a dress,

, “They dressed her before I

got there.” Jack told him as he walked over and laid her on the bed next to the boys. Brushed her hair from her face.

Rafe walked over there himself to sit on the bed behind Jack, smiled as he watched not only her but the twins all roll towards each other, were so well connected to each other a good strong family bond. Much like her and Addi had, he thought.

He was sitting right behind Jack on the bed, rested his chin on Jack’s shoulder and slid his arms around his waist, and just sighed softly as he hugged him. This was the first time they were all in a room alone together. “This is our family,” he half whispered

He knew Luci had read everything on that wall, now knew everything and was praying damned hard to Selena, that she was going to wake up and want them as much as he and Jack wanted her. Knew that she understood it wasn’t that they had abandoned her on purpose now, and he knew that she loved them. Otherwise, why would she go off in an all Alpha rage to punish those responsible for all that had happened.

Jack leaned back against him and sighed softly, he felt more settled than he had before going to get her. “We need to be here when she wakes up.”

“Agreed, though who knows when that will be.”

It was a long night and both he and Jack slept on the soft green chaise that was up against the wall, didn’t want to overstep the boundary of being in that bed with her when she woke up. Didn’t want her freaking out about them being so close.

He was woken just after dawn by Addi’s voice coming through a mind-link ‘Rafe, what is wrong with Luci?’

‘She’s unconscious Addison, accessed all of her Triune powers and will be out for a while is my understanding of

‘Oh… will need you to come down to the front gate for me.’

“Where are you?’ he questioned; he knew she wasn’t yet inside the pack, hadn’t picked up her return but was obviously close enough to connect a mind-link to him.

‘On my way back. I’m not alone and I know the packs closed to visitors. I had some trouble, saved a few people and now they need sanctuary. Bring some clothes.’

Rafe frowned, at the front gate? She should have come back from the North or North East according to where she was. But let it go, would find out what was going on soon enough ‘On my way.’ He told her.

‘Where is Luci?’

‘In the Luna Suite.’

‘What! What did I miss?’

‘A lot.’ He sighed a little, We can talk about it in person.’

‘Is she your Luna now?’

‘Not yet.’

‘Alright.’ Was her only comment.

He left Jack with Luci and the boys, to go down to the front gate, he didn’t really want to leave that suite if she woke up and only found Jack there, it might not go down so well.

Though surely shed understand him having to go and attend Alpha duties, sighed to himself would rather be there in that room waiting on her to wake up.

Ducked to the mud room to pick up a hand full of clothes, had no idea for how many or if they were male or female.

He found lan standing out the front of the packhouse waiting on him, two cars already there. “Morning Rafe, Giannah said I should go with you.” Rafe nodded, “Alright, did she say why?”

“Nope.” He shrugged and the two of them drove down to the front gate in two cars, they had to wait a good 15 minutes before Addison and her band of women walked out of the forest line and on to the road that led to the pack gate, stepped out just a few metres from the gate. They were all naked bar one, had come in beast form, why they needed clothes. And that girl who was dressed had her arm linked with Addisons, was smiling as she walked along, she wasn’t all that much taller than Addison either.

His eyes moved along the other three women as he handed out the dresses, two of them were definitely family, mother and daughter he could smell that. The other was tall and had many scars, sighed internally at the multiple marking scars on the woman.

Yes, sanctuary was needed it appeared. They all also smelled of rogue to him “Rafe, lan.” Addison greeted them ” This is Rhyse, Zoe and Lidia, they all need sanctuary from Victor, I’ll explain that up in the office.” she stated at his shocked expression. Then she looked to the girl attached to her arm “This young lady is Silla, my new Siren daughter. Luci’s new sister.”

Rafe stared at the girl for a moment and then shook it off ” Ladies.” He greeted them and waved them inside the pack.

He didn’t really understand Silla, knew Addi only had two actual children Luci and Thatcher. But she had stated Siren daughter, she must have found another siren up there, survivors. That must be nice for her, though she mentioned Victor, she really did need to explain that to him.

She smiled up at him “I adopted her.” she chuckled “Victor is not going to be happy when he wakes up.”

“Victor?” he asked with a full frown as his eyes once again moved passed the women here “Sanctuary is granted, hop in the cars. I’ll initiate you into the pack, and safety will be granted.”

He knew Victors pack was south of his, realised Addison had not been at the lake where Terence had dropped her off at. Something had happened to her in all likelihood, Luci was not going to be happy.

“Where have you been Addison?” he asked, getting in the car.

She smiled right at him as she hopped in herself, “Ah, I got snatched by Victor at my lake. Stupid man put me in a cell with Zoe, who is his actual goddess gifted, she rejected him years ago, even more stupidly he put me across from Silla’s tank” She snorted fully amused now.

“Tank.”

“Yes, that’s where she lived, under the packhouse… Where are the boys, I’d like to introduce Silla to her new family.”

He glanced at lan who had Rhyse, Zoe and Lidia in his car with him and they headed back to the packhouse. Hed heard the man introduce himself to them, knew he would also have opened the doors for them, was a gentleman most of the time.

“The boys are sleeping, up in the suite with Luci.”

“Sleeping or unconscious?”

“Hannah put them into a sleep state with Luci’s permission, as is my understanding. Last night was a bit of a mess for everyone.”

“So the truth is finally out then.”

“Yes,” he sighed heavily “Many deaths happened I imagine.

” He still didn’t like that he’d not been there to help Luci or look out for her.

“Those two?”

“Are headless…at Luci’s hands.” He thought about that for only a moment “Popped their brains inside their heads from my understanding.”

He heard Silla giggle in the backseat, and wondered if all Sirens could do that. Shook it off was a question for another time.

“Hmm…when did you tell her.”

“We didn’t, she went into her room, and found out everything on her own, I had plans to tell her last night, kind of didn’t go as planned.”

He heard Addison sigh, “Right..did she kill any that didn’t need to die?”

“Not inside this pack. I don’t know about the other pack.

That would be a question for Hannah and her sisters, Jo-anne perhaps.” He shook his head not even he understood what had happened up there in wolf valley pack.

Alright, have the boys woken please, but let Luci wake naturally please Rafe.”

“I’ll mind-link Aaliyah.” He nodded.
