CHAPTER 124
A Love Reawakened The Alpha’s Regret
Chapter 124
Angelaâs POV
The existence of Dariusâ father in the world was a danger to our pack. He was ready to sell everything and everyone out even when he was the Alphi of the Pack. Imagine what he would do now that he doesnât give two shits about us.
For the past three days. Darius had started investigating how his father was able to communicate with his mysterious stepbrother. Only four people knew of his fatherâs existence aside from me and Darius. Charles, Azalea, Stanley, and Mason. Whatever way the man had called his brother, one of us had helped him out and every one of us became a suspect aside from Darius himself.
âAre you
you okay, Angela? You look deep in thought,â My mom touched my shoulder. I turned to her.
âIâm okay, Mamaâ
We were at the hospital that afternoon. My mom hadnât been feeling too well so I had to take her to the hospital.
âAre you sure? You can tell me anything.â
I shook my head. Ti good, mama. Iâm just pregnant,â I announced
I hadnât told her yer for different reasons but I realized there was no need to keep the news from her anymore. Her mouth dropped open and her eyes went wide: She
e stared
at me in silence for a few seconds. I couldnât help laughing âThis is such great news, Angela,â my mom said. She was beaming with great joy and it was good to see her so happy.
I know, mama,
âGoodness gracious. Iâm so happy for you and Darius
âThanks, mom. Iâm glad youâre happy,â
âOf course Iâm happy. Donât be silly. This calls for a celebrationâ
I stopped her, âIt doesnât. Wait until the baby is here. Reina is already feeling bad about the whole pregnancy newsâ
o have
She nodded. âItâs normal. You and Brittany almost killed each other while you guys were growing up. You kept on asking me why I decided to another child, especially one like her. Iâm sure Reina would do just fine.â
I agreed
Brittany and I were always at each otherâs throats growing up. Fighting like a cat and rat. The first time Iâd gotten drunk and sneaked into the house. at night, sheâd seen me. I thought she would snitch to my parents but to my surprise, she didnât. If I had known, I would ve confessed to my parents rather than trusted Brittany because, for the four months that followed, Brittany threatened the life out of me and got away with a lot of things just because she knew my secret.
âIf we canât have a party, can we at least have dinner with Darius family?â
I smiled. âSure, dinner wouldnât hurt but no one would mention the babies since Reins would be
present
âDonât spoil this girl toâ¦â she suddenly stopped.
âThad you say babies?â
âSomething like that but itâs still a secret. We havenât told anyone yet.â
She bumped her head like a child and grinned widely at me. âOf course, Of course, the repeated, tapping her feet on the floor.
It was enchanting watching my mom beamed with excitement like that after such long, struggling months. It has been tough on her. âYou can go in for your tests now, Mrs Johnson, Halle came out from the doctorâs room and directed
my mom t
towards the laboratory.
She took a seat beside me.
âIs her illness serious?â I asked her. Halle shook her head.
âNo, itâs nothing serious. We just need to carry out some tests to rule out a few things,â she explained.
Chapter 124
Thanks,â
âWhen are you coming back for your ultrasound? She suddenly asked.
That was when it occurred to me that I shouldâve gone back to the hospital after a day or two but because Reina already told us I was having twins, nothing else seemed to bother me.
âIn a few days.â
âCoolâ she became silent. âI ended things with Charles,
To me, that was good news but I couldnât say that out loud. My feelings didnât matter, hers did.
âHow are you feeling!â
âNot as bad as I thought I would feel. I feel like I let go of a stumbling block that I thought was my wings.â
I laughed. A lot of people around me were more poetic than I gave them accolades for.
Iâm guessing you and Jude are good now,â
âWe will be. He saw me kissing Charles and heâs pretty mad at me,
âI donât blame him, I answered sincerely and she pouted,
Iâm trying to do my best to get him to trust me,
Trust? âYou have to be sincere with him. Itâs a big deal trying to get someone to trust you. Sometimes, youâll even have to hide your true self but thatâs a terrible way of going about it. You have to show him your true self so he can see you for who you really know. Let him know how sorry you are as well. Donât just tell, show,â
âHe came over last night because he missed me,
âYou guys talked about it then,â
âWe didnât do much talking. Our mouths did..â
I stopped her before she could continue. âIâm not about to hear you talk about nasty stuff. I still have Darius to deal with at home. I canât listen to you here and still go home and listen to Darius. Itâs too much, especially for a pregnant woman.
âDonât act so innocent. The nasty stuff made you pregnant, she glared at me. âTWICE
âShut up, you bitch,â
She laughed. âIâm glad weâre becoming close again, Angela,â
I smiled widely at her. âMe too,â
I waited for my mom while Halle went on to attend to other patients. Once my mom was done, we had to wait for like an hour for the results, Once it was out, we were called in by Halle.
âI thought the male doctor would be attending to us,â I queried.
âYes, he shouldâve been but the issue is a little sensitive. I was thinking we should keep it within ourselves,â
Her statement made me be alarmed for obvious reasons.
âWhatâs going on, Halle? My mom asked and I looked at her. She was in a panic state.
âI promise itâs not lifeâthreatening. So, please take a seat first,â
My mom and I sat down. âWe ran a few tests to rule out some things that we thought could be wrong and only one test came back positive. Itâs a rare case but weâve seen it happen a few times,â
âWhich is?â I asked.
âYour momâs pregnant, Angela,
