CHAPTER 145
A Love Reawakened The Alpha’s Regret
Chapter 145
BOOK 2: CHAPTER 15
Rowanâs POV
After I left the breakfast hall, I went to check up on some of our old and new warriors training. As i got closer, I saw Gideon and Harriette. Gideon had his arm across her shoulder.
That pissed me off for an unknown reason. I gritted my teeth and barged through the mindlink connection to have access to Gideon.
âGet your hands off her or Iâll break every twenty seven bones in your hand,â I threatened, almost growling at him.
Gideon removed his hand immediately and moved away from home. He knew better than to piss me off. When I get angry, it gets bloody.
Just as I was trying to suppress my anger, I walked towards them to hear Harriette talking about the Werewolf King.
âHow did you know that?â I asked Harriette. Her eyes went wide before I saw her face become flushed. She quickly looked away from me and bit down on her lips from regret.
I always knew something was strange about her. Every time I tried to let it go, she always came back to prove that she was a strange girl from a strange town.
As for her story that was documented in the packâs log, Iâve sent people out to confirm if the pack existed and if she had existed as well. It wasnât a necessary move but with the strange and recent happenings, I had to do it for the sake of my sanity.
âI asked you a question,â I fisted my palm aggressively. Yet again, I didnât get an answer to my question.
The only person who knew who the guest would be was me. I was the only one who knew my father, the werewolf king would be visiting my Rogue pack in two or three days. Iâd only informed my men and close subordinates that someone was coming but I didnât tell them who it would be.
The only way Harriette would know is if she was there the night the King called me.
Iâd just finished a run that night when my phone began ringing. Iâd been avoiding his calls but for heavenâs sake, he didnât stop calling. âWhat?â I yelled into the phone.
âThat is not a good way to respond to your father not to talk of the werewolf king,â he spat.
Father? Was he ever my father? Was there a time he played the role of a father?
âWhat do you want?â I asked again.
âIâve been trying to reach out to you, son, but you never picked up my calls,â
The same way I tried reaching out to you as a child and you ignored me. No, scratch that, he thought I was a liar and I needed attention.
âMaybe that was enough to let you know that I donât want to hear from you ever again,â I snapped.
âRowan Greene. Can we have a civil conversation for once?â He asked.
I clicked my tongue. âIâll ask again even though I hate asking the same question repeatedly. What do you want from me?â
There was a second of silence. âWe need to talk,â
âI donât want to discuss anything with you. When you had the chance to talk to me, you didnât and now, I have nothing to say to you,â
âDo you know how much danger youâre in right now? Do you know how many people want you killed because of how foolish youâre living your life?â
He screamed. He still believed I was throwing a tantrum by starting a rogue pack,
I laughed. âLet them come for me. Iâm here, waiting,â
I was no longer the little boy they damaged. I wouldnât wait around to get tossed around one more time.
âRowan!â
âSay goodbye, Your Highness because Iâm about to drop this call,â

Chapter 143
Calling him father was a big task for me. He failed woefully as my father and I hated him for that. All he had to do was protect me but he never did that.
Iâm coming over to your ridiculous rogue pack in a few days,â
He announced.
Fuck! I cursed under my breath.
âYou wouldnât dare take two steps into my pack, your highness. I donât care if youâre the werewolf king or not, Iâll deny you access,â
I threatened.
âIf I donât accept your denial, what would happen then?â
âDonât make me say it,â I answered.
I would be forced to raise my claws against him. It would turn the entire werewolf world against me if I attacked him but I wouldnât sit back and let him provoke me.
âIâm not coming as the Werewolf king. Iâm coming as your father,â
On second thought, I stopped. If there was one thing I knew about the King very well, it would be his blind stubbornness. Arguing any further would only strengthen his mind.
âFine. Do whatever you want, Your Highness. Come or not, itâs not my business but itâs my business if I let you into my pack because my pack, my rules,
I suddenly stopped in my tracks. The world around me suddenly became frozen. I could perceive a scent in the air. One that belonged to my âsupposedâ mate but she was nowhere around me at that moment. Even when I looked around and tried to move my hand around, nothing was there. It was weird but nothing prepared me for the mysterious scar on my neck the following morning.
Now, this woman who had been driving me crazy since she got here stood in front of me not giving any answer to my question.
âI only guessed. Since Gideon said it was an important guest, I also guessed it would be the werewolf king. I honestly donât know who it was,â she lied again.
âHarriette, I breathed out.
Her denial and lies were causing more damage to me than anything else. I wanted to hear the truth from her just once. The more she lied, the more she pulled me back into the darkness Iâd struggled and fought so hard to leave behind.
âIâm sorry, Alpha Rowan. I only said what came to my mind,â She bowed her head slightly and apologized.
The werewolf Kingâs unwanted visitation to my pack was already getting on my nerves. I didnât want to catch a glimpse of him not to talk of being in his presence. It reminded me of a lot of battles I fought to become who I am and each time I saw him, I lost a bit of my sanity. With Harriette not recognizing my wolf as her mate, and lying about almost everything, I knew it was only a little time before hell broke loose.
I turned on my heels and walked away from her. From everyone. As I walked into my office, a loud, piercing noise echoed in my ear. I held onto my desk for support but it was too late. I fell to the ground. I began hearing voices. They were echoing the life I once lived.
âLiar,â
âPathetic,
âToo stupid for a tenâyearâold,â
âI told you not to tell anyone, didnât I?â
âDaddyâs mad now,â
âCOWARD! Youâre nothing but a coward, Rowan,â That was the last thing I heard before I submitted to the pain one more time. Darkness enveloped me. Unconsciously and unwillingly, I gave the pain to Thorne who was ever ready to take the burden off me even when I didnât want him to.
Authorâs POV
Five minutes later, still in his human form, Rowan stood up from the floor and stared at the mirror behind him. His bright, black eyes had been replaced with Thorneâs red, wild eyes. The wolf smirked as he stared at himself.
âItâs my turn now, Rowan. Rest for the time being,â Thorne munnured.
