CHAPTER 33
A Love Reawakened The Alpha’s Regret
Chapter 33
ANGELA
The flash drive was empty. Not even one video was on the flash drive. I could see my life flashing right in front of me. I donât understand or even be able to comprehend how the entire thirty-plus videos disappeared from the flash drive overnight. It wasnât just videos from the nanny cam but also videos from Reinaâs previous birthdays since she turned one.
I couldnât even think about that at the moment because if I did, my anger would intensify and I would break down in tears. Who would have done something like this? I canât seem to bring myself to think of one person who would benefit from me being disgraced like this. No one even knows about the nanny com except for Reina. I made sure to warn her not to tell anyone about it or the location.
âWhatâs going on? If you have nothing to show us, let us know and stop wasting our time.â
I turned to see all five of the elders staring at me impatiently. âGive me a minute please,â I begged.
Was a minute enough to save my life? Would I really get punished for something I didnât do? I didnât even touch her. She had barged into my room that day after I dropped Reina off to my mom. She asked me where she was and I told her It wasnât her business and that was when she saw red.
âWhat do you mean Reina isnât my business? Reina is Alpha Dariusâ daughter and whatever belongs to Alpha Darius, belongs to me.â She had yelled.
Although I had a terrible headache coming in and heart palpitations, I turned to him with a confused look on my face. Did this girl just call Reina her property?
âReina belongs to nobody other than herself, especially not you. You should leave while Iâm still being nice,â I replied.
She looked me down, scrutinizing me with those big rond eyes of hers. âAlpha Darius already gave me the right to Reinat for today, a crazy b*tch like you has no right to her,â
I was taken aback by her words. âAlpha Darius must have been mistaken. You should leave, Daisy,â I coaxed her by speaking gently.
âTell me where she is so I can take her and I will leave,â She bargained. Her negotiation wasnât getting to me. The memory my dark moment was getting to me and I wasnât ready to fight her while I fought those memories.
âYou do realize Reina is not a toy but a person. You canât just have her because you want her,â I said.
âI donât care. Give me Reina or I wouldnât take it lightly with youâ The more she had spoken those words that day, the more surprised I had gotten. Nothing could top the surprise I had when she pulled a knife out of her back.
I moved away from her. She was acting crazy, really crazy.
âAre you planning or stabbing me? If you do, you still wouldnât know Reinaâs whereaboutsâ
She laughed hysterically. âI would cut myself and scream to everyone that you did it,â
âWhat?â I asked in disbelief.
Before I could blink the second time, I heard a tiny slashing sound. Blood gushed out from the veins in her upper hand. My scream mixed with hers before I quickly covered my mouth with my palm. I heard footsteps coming up the stairs and the next moments that happened went by in a blur as tears threatened to fall from my face. The knife had also fallen to the floor, soaked in her blood.
âMiss Angela,â A new voice called out, drawing me out of the memories of that horrible day.

I turned to look at Darius for help, he had his infamous smirk on his face. He must be feeling so proud of himself. Wondering why I was looking up to him for help when I already told him to shove it up his a*s. Maybe if I hadnât been so stubborn. I would be out by now but thanks to my craziness, Iâm standing in front of these elders with no evidence and sweating like I was tied down next to a coal station
Darius kept his eyes on me as he stood up from his seat. His eyes didnât leave me even as he walked towards me. He got to my side and nudged his head towards the computer.
âItâs empty?â He asked with a wide grin. He looked suspicious and he acted suspicious as well. That gave me a moment to actually think he did it.
âYes,âI answered.
âYou told me to shove my help up my as,â He whispered, his eyes lingering on my lips. Why the f*ck was he acting that way in front of everyone?
âYes! I did but can you please remove your head from your a*?âs not a hat,â I whispered back, keeping my voice incredibly low. Talking back at an Alpha is punishable by the rules of the pack but talking down on the Alpha can lead to banishment.
âShould I put it in your a*s? My mouth I mean. Itâs still part of my head,â His eyes went to my breast and I wish I could smack him in the head so bad.
âDarius. Iâm serious,â
âWill you say thank you after I help you?â I took in a deep breath after which I nodded. He was acting like a f*cking child.
âIf that is what you want,â
âI donât want your words, I want you like we agreed on in my office some days ago.â I looked back at the elders who all had hard glares on their faces for me. âLook at me baby, donât mind these old geezers,â He muttered and I could feel his hot breath on my face.
âFine, you get what you want,â
âGood girl.â He winked at me before he looked away.
It was Darius. He formatted my flash drive so I could be at his mercy. He did it and he loved doing it. I confirmed my suspicion. I could swear that he would pay for this.
He turned to the elders and began speaking so fluently and comfortably with them. He ended his appeal with âMiss Ange here is the daughter of late Johnson who we all know worked diligently for the pack till his last moment. I believe he would be disappointed if we go ahead to punish her daughter without giving her a chance,â He stopped, letting his words soak in. âIf something like this repeats itself again, I promise to investigate more about it and give out the punishment as deemed fit. This time, letâs give her a second chance,â
They all deliberated on the issue for a while. âThen, we will leave you to give her the appropriate punishment after more investigation of this case as well,â
They agreed so easily that it scared me. During Dariusâ fatherâs time, the elders were always at Lockheed with him, arguing about issues but this was different. They might be scared of Daris by the way.
âShe would be thoroughly punished as promised.â He replied, staring deeply at me as if he could look into my soul.
That statement might sound innocent to the elders, but to me, it didnât. I knew it had a double meaning and I thoroughlyâ understood its double meaning.
