CHAPTER 43
A Love Reawakened The Alpha’s Regret
Chapter 43
Angela
Heâs supposed to be dead. The one man, the only Alpha who called me just like that was dead.
That man was Luke Darkwood. Darius Darkwoodâs father. The former Alpha of the pack. The same man who was supposedly dead along with my father and others.
I attended his burial. Didnât I? I saw his picture lying there along with others.
âWh-who are you?â I stuttered, finding it hard to believe that it could possibly be him. Even though itâs been five years since Iâve heard his voice, I could never forget it.
The same voice that addressed us every year at the start of school, held meetings in the town hall while my father sneaked me in. The same voice that had dinner with my family on some nights, I could never forget the first voice to tell me I would regret mating with her son.
The same person who came into the house five minutes after Darius left and told me to leave the pack as I should have and never return because I was a disgrace and embarrassment to my parents.
âAre you doubting who I am?â
âMaybe, I replied. I wasnât listening to ghosts, right? He was really here.
âYou know who I am, Angela daughter of Johnson, you shouldnât doubt it,â
âWhat if I do? Youâre supposed to be dead.â
I
He laughed, the sound of his voice echoing through the room. âAm I now? Was my funeral a befitting one? Did my son at least throw me a nice funeral like he promised?â
I wanted to tell him the funeral was okay but at the same time, I had a lot of questions. âWhat are you doing here? Did Darius put you here? Does that mean my father is alive too?â
He hissed this time.
âToo many questions, young girl. Iâm just an old, weak wolf. Take it easy on me and yes, Darius threw me here.â
âWhy?â I asked.
âWhy else? Because he wants to take over my pack,ââ
He spat with hatred.
For a second, I believed him. The next second, I doubted it. The third, I believed him, the fourth, I doubted him but by the fifth, I threw my worries into the air and decided to ask him about something else more important
Darius was brutal, like Iâve been told but now, Iâm beginning to see it. He threw his own father into prison and lied about lus death just so he could take over his pack. How barbaric can Darius get?
âThatâs. I stopped since the words became too heavy to speak.
âUnbelievable Believe it, chuld. You and I both know Darius was evil since he was a child. Only you saw the light in him and at the end of the day, you realized it was just darkness disguised is light,â
I took in a deep breath and collapsed to the floor. I tried facing the direction where I believed the voice could be coming from. The pain in my back and stomach was still bad

Chapter 43
âThat young lady who just left is Daisy, daughter of my Beta, right?
I mumbled out a yes.
Ab she is still obsessed with him. They are perfect for each other,
I knew
At his words, a strange and deniable feeling overclouded my senses.
âPerfect?â I could almost spat.
âTheyâre both darkness. They embrace each other and theyâll destroy each other. Funny how I think her darkness would destroy Darius first,â he ended it with a weak laugh..
âI canât seem to believe that even though it might be true,â
Can anyone be any more heartless than Darius? Maybe the devil could be anyway..
âWhy did he bring you here?â
I shrugged her as if he could hear me. Iâm not sure why Iâm here. He said I did something that I know nothing
about.
He snorted at my r
response.
âI didnât mean this godforsaken place. I mean this pack. I told you years ago not to ever come back. Why did you?â
I ran my hand through my hair. Why did I come back here again?
Ooh! It was because of Reina. I clamped my lips together. There was no way I was about to tell this man about his grandchild. How would he feel if he heard that? Wouldnât he feel more terrible about life? Would it give him hope? I doubt that. I didnât let that sit in my mind for too long befored pushed it to the back of my head.
âBecause of my mother. Since my father died, it hadnât been easy on her,â I half lied.
âOoh,â he replied.
At the mention of my father, I realized I should ask him the question that was at the tip of my tongue.
âWhat about my father? Is he still alive?â
I asked. My heart began beating rapidly with every second that it took for me to get an answer. What if Darius imprison my father somewhere as well? Why would he spare my father if he could get his own father jailed? Those questions ran through my head.
âYour fatherâ¦â
Before he could get those words out, hurried footsteps rushed in after the door was thrown open. One by one, I saw the packâs warriors coming towards my cell room. The door was opened and they held me by the hands, walking me out of the place.
I looked back, hoping the wind would carry to me an answer to my question but I was lying to myself, nothing of such happened.
âYou were not supposed to be brought here. Weâre taking you to the place you were supposed to be,â Azalea explained as I was being taken away
âWhat?â I asked.
âThe warriors misinterpreted the Alphaâs instruction. They took you to this Prison instead of Moonlit cell,â

Oh my goodness! I wasnât supposed to be there. I wasnât supposed to know Dariusâ father was still alive. Another secret that I might get killed for if found out
âDid you hear anything?â Azalea asked.
âWhat?â His words took me by surprise.
âDid you hear anything while you were there?â I walked into the new jailroom and Azalea stood outside the door.
âI heard nothing.
âAre you sure?â He asked again.
I frowned, as if feigning ignorance.
âNothing. Nada!â I lied through gritted teeth while I forced my feet to remain plastered against the f*cking cold tiles.
