CHAPTER 49
A Love Reawakened The Alpha’s Regret
Chapter 49
Angela
The sun shone brightly through the slightly closed window and I forced my eyes open. The room that was previously dimly lit the night before was so bright I could barely keep my eyes open. I stretched my body on the mattress before I placed my feet on the dirty floor.
I turned to see Reina still sleeping soundly beside me and just like that, I remembered everything that had happened within the past twenty four hours. I kissed her on the forehead, she said some incoherent words that I found funny.
My brain froze and I panicked. I picked up my phone to check the time and see if I was late to take Reina to school but then I soon realized it was only six in the morning.
I guess weâll be having early mornings for the next few weeks. Before I could get into the bathroom, I heard some ruckus downstairs and a knock on my door.
I opened the door to two strange women smiling at me.
âHello,â I couldnât even find any other words to tell them.
âHi. We need to clean the room,â one of them responded.
At the same time, Mason came out of his room.
âYou can clean here for now,â he pointed to his room. âIâm sure Reina is still asleep in there,â
âAh, yes, the two women turned and walked into the room Mason had pointed to. âThanks,â I told him.
âItâs not a big deal,â
âAlpha Mason, right?â
He laughed. âPlease, call me Mason. I prefer that. Let my pack members be the only ones to call me Alpha Mason. It gives me the chill when someone else does.â
âOoh, I started but stopped. âDid you call the cleaners?â
He squinted his eyes as he stared at me intensely.
âYouâve given up hope on him, right? I would too if I were you,â he suddenly said.
I was about to ask him what he meant when I heard another ruckus coming from downstairs along with Dariusâ voice.
Before I could control my feet, I found myself running down the stairs towards Darius. I was happy to see him and was stupidly shameless about that. Wasnât I avoiding him days ago? What changed?
âWhatâs going on?â I managed to force the words out of my mouth rather than the âyouâre finally here that I wanted to say so badly.
âWhat does it look like?â He asked grudgingly.
I looked around to see more people cleaning up, and changing some of the furniture as well. Some locked rooms downstairs were already opened and being cleaned.
âDid you bring them here? When did they get here?â
He looked at me, and opened his mouth slightly but stopped.

As he walked closer to Darius, I moved back. He whispered something to him with a smirk on his face but Darius rather had a frown still etched on his face.
âFine!â
He groaned.
âSee you around, Angela, Mason waved at me and I waved back
Both Darius and I were silent. Neither of us said a word but continued staring at those people working. Each time my eyes glided to his, I almost begged for him to look at me but he didnât. His eyes were focused on those men.
âDo you still hate me?â I suddenly asked. I bit down on my tongue to stop th the question but it was too late. I didnât even mean to ask that. It was a thought that slipped out.
That made him look at me and maybe 1 stopped hating myself because I asked that question.
His eyes held many answers that his mouth didnât open to give.
I wish I could read him so easily.
*Depends on your definition of hate,â he finally answered after what seemed like an hour but was just a minute or two.
âAbout what happenedâ¦
He raised a finger. âNot today, Angela,â
âThen, when?â
âI donât know. I just donât want to hear it. Youâre trying to make up excuses and it wouldnât make a difference,
âIt would make every difference if you trust me. Iâm being accused wrongly,â
âBy who?â He spat.
I took a deep breath. He was the one accusing me wrongly. He was the one who had refused to hear my side of the story. F was the one who threw me out of his house because Daisy couldnât stand me.
âAnswer this, Angela. Did you or did you not try to run away from the pack?â
1 balled up my fist. âyes, I tried to run away but itâs not the way you thought,â
He shook his head as he smirked. âIâm busy, I donât have the time for chitchat. Is Reina ready for school?â
âCan we talk about us first?â
He laughed bitterly. âMe and you both know there was no us and still no us. I already told you, that Reina is the only tie that binds us. Letâs focus on her,â
âDid you come back to do all these because of the message I sent to you?â
âWhat message?â He asked.
âI
ve a paper to Azalea to give you
He looked clueless for a second but then realization hit him.

Chapter 49
âI tore it. I didnât bother to read it.â
âWhy?â I asked. I was so close to tears.
âBecause Iâm sure it wasnât something important. Was it not?â He asked nonchalantly.
I stared at him for a few seconds. I could feel the tears prickling at the back of my eyes. He was really acting like the ashole
that he was.
âIt was important to me even though it wasnât important to you
One of the cleaning guys came to ask him about the key to a room. He told them he would fetch it for them later.
Then, why are you here! Donât you have a mansion to laky with?â I asked angrily.
This is my house. Angela. I have every night to be here. Moreover, Iâm not here for you. Iâm here for Reina. I donât want to wake up tomorrow to discover you ran from the pack again with another man and my daughter,â
âWhat?â I asked bitterly. What does he take me for? A slut?
âI would rather die than allow you to leave, his eyes searched mine. With my daughter.
