A Love Reawakened The Alpha’s Regret
Chapter 6
Angela
A sudden coldness hit me at the core and out of reflex, I tightened my grip on Reina. The image that came to my head at that moment was that of my daughter being pulled away from me.
I know Darius and what heâs capable of doing. It was why my parents first decided against our mate bonds. They didnât want their precious daughter to be involved with a man like Darius. He wasnât just a b*stard by paternal relation, he was an all- round b*stard. People feared him and his ruthlessness in the pack but I was too blind to see it and I lost myself in the relationship until he showed me his true colors and I saw him for who he truly was.
Now, heâs showing it again that heâs a b*stard.
âYou will do no such thing. Darius,â He had no right to threaten me.
I answered. My hands were clammy and I could feel my lips trembling but I wasnât ready to show it. Never will I show Darius my fear.
âThen, let me follow you home. He demanded with a smirk on the corner of his lips.
I donât want to have anything to do with you,â My shoulders tightened as I let out an impatient snort. I stalked away from him ready to leave in a huff. I was done having a conversation with him.
He wasnât listening. He just wants to do what he wants. Nothing else mattered. I shouldnât have believed him when he agreed. to let me leave the pack after previously refusing. I suspected his sudden change of heart but I underestimated what he could do.
âIâm pretty sure youâre aware I didnât come here alone, right?â
I shook my head, not in denial but in uttermost bewilderment. are you threatening me?â I asked.
âIf that is the only thing thatâll make you listen to me tonight, then you leave me with no choice, Nibbles,â
âI donât want to listen to you
you now or ever because youâre not listening to me either.â
âTell me, what do you want?â He stared at me, not blinking. His lips parted slightly as a silly grin was plastered on his face That look on his face brought back so many memories. Of us, tangled up in bed under the sheet or holding hands while walking around the pack. I bit down on my bottom lips and looked away, steering the memories away from my head.
âLeave me alone, Darius,â
âIâm afraid thatâll be impossible,â
âThen you left me with no choice. Iâm getting the cops involved, I threatened.
I was getting tired of arguing, waiting on a long pavement, and screaming my lungs out at a man who was not ready to listen. to me. I just want this to end, not for my sake but for Reinaâs sake.
Fortunately, a copâs car came into view as it was being driven down the road. I heaved a deep sigh of relief, believing I could finally walk away from here.
I raised a hand, stopping the car. It stopped and the driver, a young cop dropped down from the car and walked towards us.
How can I help you maâam? Is everything okay?â He asked, looking between me and the child I was holding.
âThis man right here is holding us against our will and threatening usâ

I complained, hoping Iâd be free of Darius tonight.

He turned to Darius and a wave of recognition set up on him. His posture suddenly became stiffened with rigid muscles and immediately bowed his head.
Alpha Darius,â
My mouth flew open and I unknowingly let out a loud gasp. It was unbelievable. What was the possibility that the cop knew
who Darius was?
âSorry for the inconvenience, officer. This lady and I are trying to sort out some indifference. You shouldnât worry about it,â
âYes, Alpha Darius,â He responded without arguing.
The officer turned to me and said, âSorry maâam,â
âCan you at least, give me a ride home?â I asked before he could walk away, hoping heâd act like an officer for once and not a
puppet to Darius.
He turned to look at Darius for permission to perform his duty of protecting the citizens of his state.
I snorted, still finding it hard to believe any of what just happened.
âYes maâam.â
Without any reluctance, I carried Reina into my hands and walked towards the officerâs car.
She was waving at Darius and he waved back. I gave the officer my home address and he drove off almost immediately.
A few minutes later, we arrived at my home. Reina was already sleeping. I found Darius resting against a car as we got down from the officerâs car. I was surprised to see him there but not shocked. The minute I told the officer my address, I knew something like this was going to happen.
*Surprised to see me?â He asked.
âNot one bit, Darius,â I answered. My building was an apartment complex. I lived on the first floor. It wasnât anything luxurious. It was just a one-bedroom apartment with a kitchen and room.
âYou live in this dilapidated building.â
âBack off, Darius,â
He moved away from me so I could open the door but stopped me before I could close it.
âI want to be a part of her life, Nibbles. I want to n
make up for the years that Iâd lost,â
âShe did just fine without you, sheâll be fine without you,â
âAre you finally admitting that sheâs my child?â
I clicked my tongue. âJust leave us alone, Darius. Please,â
âI want to right my wrong,
âFind somewhere else to do that,â
âWith or without your permission, Nibbles, Iâll make everything right again. Even if I get burned in the process. Iâm never letting go again. So donât try to stop me or else youâll get burned as well,â
