CHAPTER 74
A Love Reawakened The Alpha’s Regret
Chapter 74
Darius POV
All through the past few years of my life, I thought nothing affected me but ever since Reina and Angela came back into my life. Iâve discovered that those two might be the end of me. Everything about them affected me.
I was turning weak. It should scare me that I wasnât the Darius that I used to be but Iâve realized that my weakness was only reserved for them. The moment I turned my eyes away from the two of them, the world could crumble under my feet and I wouldnât bat an eye. As long as they were safe, that was all that mattered.
When Angela ran away from me yesterday night after my wolf came out, it killed me. I went after her but sheâd locked. the door before I could even walk in and explain to her. I saw the fear, the shock in her eyes, and the fact that I caused it ruined me.
person
I knew the monster living inside of me but I controlled that monster not the other way around. The only other who could control him was Angela but that would only be possible if she marked me. Even without the mark, Iâd found both me and my wolf surrendering to her more than enough times.
âAlpha,â Azalea bowed before I could get to his side. He was holding a white document. Just exactly what I wanted to
up
Weâve been and about these past few days searching for the members of the Resistance group that decided to kill two of their own people just to prove they were f*cking stupid.
âAzalea, are they ready?â
âYou know me better than that, Alpha,â
I smirked.
Although at first all our investigations yielded nothing, the moment we started offering money in exchange for information, the people began talking. Some of their words were mere suspicions while others were certain about the names we mentioned. Funny and crazy enough, Angelaâs name came up twice and that was because she was seen with another suspected member of the pack, Halle, on more than one occasion.
Today, I will be interrogating Halle and Peter, another suspected member of the Resistance Group.
âYou can talk to the lady first,â Azalea suggested.
âItâs about time we bring Luana to this pack. She knows how to deal with female criminals,â I said, referring to one of the best female warriors Iâve met. She was a member of Masonâs pack.
âWe both know Alpha Mason wouldnât release her for anything.â
I clicked my tongue. âThat bastard,â
Azalea smirked.
I looked into the interrogation room through the glass door. When we first came to this pack, the interrogation room looked really boring but as soon as I transformed it into my taste, it became a hell hole. If the criminals are too comfortable, itâll become difficult to get them to talk but when fear is included in everything around them, the opposite happens.
I could see from where I was standing that the Halle girl was uncomfortable. She kept looking around the room, staring at the door as well at intervals.

I opened the door and walked in.
âAlpha Darius,â
1 rested my back against the door. âyou must be Halle.â
âDr. Halle.â
âReally?â I raised an eyebrow acting as if I was surprised to find out she was a doctor.
âI canât afford to be in here, Alpha. The pack has only two doctors and the longer I stay here, the more lives that could
be lost.â
I threw one of my hands into my pocket and I smirked. âYouâre making a really good bargain, Dr Halle. I wouldnât waste too much of your time so once weâre done here, you can move along to a good cell room.â
Her eyes widened at my last statement. âWhat?â
âYouâre a member of The Resistance, arenât you?â I said.
âNo, Iâm not,
âIt wasnât a question. It was a f*cking statement,â
âI know nothing about the resistance. Did Angela say I did?â
I frowned. On second thought, I decided to ignore that part and ask another question. Then tell me why twelve members of this pack believe you are?â
âMaybe theyâre making a mistake. Iâm not a member and neither do I know anything about the Resistance,â
âAnd you want me to believe you. Why?â
âIâm a doctor in this pack. I treat the people here and I have their best interest at heart, So, why would I endanger their lives when I could be saving them?â
âBecause you donât believe in the idea of me being the Alpha of this pack,â
She became silent. The Resistance had a goal and that was to throw me out of the pack.
âIâm not the biggest fan of you. Youâre a dangerous man and I think every werewolf on this part of the universe would be a witness to that. You kill anything that crosses your path and 1 donât believe you have the mental capacity to lead a pack. Still, I wouldnât join the Resistance,â
She spewed all at once. I respected the honest review of Darius Darkwood but it still didnât change the fact that she could be a member.
âTell me, between me, the famous murderer, and the Resistance, who has killed more members of your pack in the past year?â
âIâm afraid itâs you. The Resistance is against you. Theyâre doing all these to get rid of you, so directly or indirectly, youâre involved in those deaths as well.
I smirked. âThatâs all I needed to know, Halle,â
She was confused. âWhat?â
âYou donât belong to the Resistance but you have this belief in them. Thatâs enough to support my reasons for getting

you arrested.â
What are you
âWhat are you talking about?â
âI had the plan of inviting you in because I found out that Charles was at your apartment yesterday.â
The shock on her face was so evident that I could read it in just one glance.
âDid Angela tell you? She did, right?â
âAngela knew,â
âShe didnât tell you,â
I clenched my jaw. Angela knew Charles was in my pack and she didnât bother to tell me about it. The betrayal stung but I quickly covered it up.
âUntil youâre ready to talk about the Resistance, have fun in the cell room,â
She was saying something uninteresting but I didnât listen. I walked away and left one of the female warriors in charge. before Azalea led me to the other suspect.
Peter was the son of one of the respectable elders in the pack. He was also one of our warriors. When his name first started coming up, I couldnât believe it.
âFinally found out my little secret, didnât you?â He laughed menacingly as I walked in.
âUnfortunately for you, I did, and guess what, itâs not that little of a secret. Itâs so big it killed two of your friends,â
He suddenly became sober. âThat wasnât supposed to happen. That was a mistake. It was a terrible mistake,â he murmured to himself.
âI guess youâr
youâre not denying being a member,
âNo,â he answered proudly. I didnât miss out on the switch in his different expressions.
âGood! Now, give me the other names, on second thought, I said. âI donât bloody need the other names, give me the name of your leader. Thatâs the one person Iâm interested in finding.â
He threw his head backward and began laughing.
âWeâre like the wind, Alpha Darius. You know of us, you feel us, you feel our impact as well but you can never catch.
us,â
I grabbed him by the collar. I was done playing games with him.
âTell me who the f*ck your boss is or I swear that Iâll tear you into pieces and feedâ¦â
He suddenly coughed out blood. I paused and dropped his collar.
His body dropped to the chair as he continued coughing up blood. Azalea rushed into the room and pulled me away from the guy.
The fit he was having suddenly stopped and the room became silent. Azalea walked closer to him and checked his pulse at his neck.
âHeâs dead, Alpha,â
