CHAPTER 76
A Love Reawakened The Alpha’s Regret
Chapter 76
Dariusâ POV
Putting aside my thoughts and the betrayal, I walked up to Angela on the stairs. She looked so beautiful, so peaceful. I didnât want to keep staring at her like a creep. I decided to take her to her room.
She didnât even notice I was there until I picked her up bridal style in my arms. She stared awake. She tried to struggle but once she saw it was me, she stopped struggling and allowed me to take her to her room.
I put her on the bed and placed the duvet on her. She kicked it away and I tried it again. She waited for a few seconds before she kicked the duvet off her body and grabbed me by the collar.
âYou wouldnât even look at me now,â she said.
I managed to look her in the eyes for a few seconds before I looked away. âGo back to sleep. Why were you sleeping on the stairs anyway?â
âWhy do you think I was sleeping on the stairs? If youâd come home when you were supposed to, would I have slept there waiting for you?â
A smile found its way to my lips but I quickly coughed to cover it up.
âYou shouldnât have. Go back to sleep,â
âNo!â She stubbornly refused. âYouâve been avoiding me. You leave the house before I wake up and you return when Iâm in bed. Now that Iâve caught you sneaking back in, you wonât even look at me.â
âCan you let me go, Nibbles?â She was still holding on to my collar stubbornly.
âNo!â She yelled.
âYouâll wake Reina up, I huhsed her.
âShe sleeps like a log. Iâm sure she wouldnât wake up. Now, why are you avoiding me? Is it because of what I said?â
She asked.
âMaybe,â
âYou donât want to talk about your wolf? Is that it? Is that why?â She sounded disappointed. I could hear her voice breaking at the end and it made my heart ache so badly.
She dropped my collar and moved further away from me.
âGet out!â She commanded
I nodded. I stood up straight, ready to leave the room. It was enough that Iâd seen her and that Iâd taken in her scent. I could continue avoiding her because that was the best thing to do. If I brought up the topic and I heard the truth from her, it might kill me.
Before I could turn and walk out, I saw a lone tear fall from her eyes and I could swear I felt my legs shook with a deep intensity.
âWhy are you in tears?â
I f*cking hated seeing her cry.
âYou are the reason.â
âIâm always the reason, arenât I?â I asked. I sat beside her on the bed and cleaned her tears away.
She tried k*ssing me. I removed my lips from hers.
âWhat? Fine! I donât want to know about your wolf anymore,â she cried.
âEnough with the tears, baby,â I begged.
âThen stop being so mad at me,â
âIâm not mad at you. Iâm⦠Iâm just disappointed, I confessed.
âBecause I got scared of you and your wolf,â
I took a deep breath. âNo! Itâsâ¦â she k*ssed my forehead. She k*ssed my nose. I stopped her before she could k*ss my lips.
âCan you tell me please?â
She gave me a puppy look that brought me to my knees.
This woman was killing me! She has so much power over me that she didnât know. I avoided her because I was trying to avoid this.
âYou saw Charles, didnât you?â I asked. She froze up and quickly looked away from me.
âWhy didnât you tell me?â
I asked her.
She was scared of something, I could tell. I knew Angela and I knew her response to fear. Nothing was different this
time as well.
âI wanted to when I came to your office with Reina days ago but you were already on your way to find him so 1 decided not to tell you,â
She said.
I nodded. I trusted her enough to believe she was telling the truth but something else was scaring her.
âDid something else happen that youâll want me to know?â
She hesitated then shook her head. âNothing happened,â
We stared at each other for a while and she gave me a really big smile.
âAre you okay? I heard what happened with that warrior,â
âDo you believe I killed him?â
She laughed. âYou didnât. If you did, theyâll hear it directly from you,â
I k*ssed her neck. âThatâs my girl,â
âDo you want to talk about your wolf?â
âThereâs nothing to talk about, baby. My wolfâs dangerous. More dangerous than you know. What you saw that day is

its usual, normal form. You donât have to be scared of him. He loves you as much as I do.
There was much more I was hiding from her but I wanted her to be ready before telling her or maybe I would show her rather than tell. I could only hope when I finally did she wouldnât run away in fear again.
She nodded excitedly. âSorry, I ran off. I panicked,â
Thatâs fine. I understand, My Angel,â
I k*ssed her. She k*ssed me back just as much. She threw her hands around my neck and placed herself on my lap. while her mouth didnât leave mine.
I dragged my mouth off hers and placed it on her neck, k*ssing the bite mark that I was so proud of. I k*ssed my way back to her lips. I could keep k*ssing her for a year without stopping or getting tired.
âDarius,â she moaned out.
âHmm,
I put my hands inside her top and dragged the clothes over her head.
âI need to tell you something.â
I groaned. âCan it wait?â
âI donât want to forget about it,â
She sounded serious. I stopped k*ssing her and looked at her.
The look on her face told me she was about to get defiant or naughty.
I squinted my eyes as I waited for her to talk.
âI need to leave the pack,â
âNO!â
