CHAPTER 77
A Love Reawakened The Alpha’s Regret
Chapter 77
Dariusâ POV
âWhat?â She asked, her face masked with disbelief.
âItâs too dangerous. You told me yourself you saw someone creepy following you around the mall. Now, you want to go back to the same town thinking itâll be safe. How is that even possible?â
âIâm not going there to announce myself or maybe put myself in danger,â
âTrust me, danger go looking for people tooâ
She stabbed her finger on my chest. âIâm going to a funeral and once Iâm done, Iâll come back here,â
I shook my head. âUntil I realize itâs safe for you to leave, I canât let you go,â
âWhen is it ever going to be safe for me? When exactly, Darius? Can you tell me the time or the year itâll be safe? As far as I know, I have no enemies,â
I touched her thighs trying to lift her off my body and leave the room before she was able to compel me into believing she could leave.
âWhat are you trying to do?â She asked, searching through my eyes.
âYou need to go back to bed. Itâs late and I also have some work to attend to,â
âReally?.â She paused, âIâll let you leave once you give me the permission to leave this pack,â
I raised an eyebrow. âDid you actually wait for me because you missed me or because you wanted me to let for the funeral of someone I donât even have a clue aboutâ
She stood up from my thighs and adjusted her top.

âMaybe if you didnât walk out on me six years ago, you wouldnât have to be clueless about someone in my life,â
I stared at her. I couldnât believe she had to make a reference to that but I wasnât going to blame her. It was all my fault. She placed all her trust in me and I broke her.
âYouâre never going to let that matter go, are you?â
She took a deep breath. âIâm sorry I said that. My anger got the best of me,â
âNo, itâs fine. You should say more than that, in fact. I deserve it. I walked out on you. I disrespected you, I mocked you, so I deserve all the terrible things you have to say,â
âDarius,â
âBut still, my answer remains no. You canât leave. I donât have enough security to keep the pack safe and keep you safe at the same time if youâre not here. I canât spare my men for more than a day or two. Just stay where my eyes can be on you all day,â
âThen let me travel without the security,â
âAnd risk your life and let you stupidly get yourself hurt when you couldâve been safe,â
She glared at me.

Chapter 77
Fine. Iâll stupidly get myself hurt and I hope youâll be able to say I told you so,â
âWhat!â
âIâm leaving. Even if you say yes or no, your opinion doesnât matter anymore. Iâm leaving this pack and if any of your stupid, wild men try to stop me or come close to me as small as an inch, Iâll grab them and cut their throat,â
She demonstrated how she was going to do that with her hands and I couldnât help but marvel at the sight of it. I was beginning to have a bad influence on My Angel.
âYouâll do no such thing, Nibbles. Youâre not leaving and thatâs final. Enough with the argument for goodness sake,â
I spat.
âGood. Enough with the argument. Remember, you donât own me, Darius. Iâm a woman of my own. I get to do what I want when I want. You canât stop me,â
She was feisty, stubborn, and wild but getting through to her was harder than Iâd thought.
âNoâ¦â
âStop being such a big head. Stop being so stubborn,â she cutely stomped her feet on the ground.
âYouâre the one who needs to stop being so hotheaded. This conversation is not going to head anywhere if you keep being so stubborn. Donât make me tie you up to that bedâ I threatened.
âF*ck you, Darius. F*ck you and f*ck your stupid wolf. You both might be big but you donât scare me,â
She angrily walked into the bathroom.
I turned to walk out of the room but that was when I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror. My eyes were pitch black. My wolf had presented himself to her during the argument and Angela didnât panic like the other day.
I shouldâve felt proud of her but I knew I needed a run. Staying in that form might be safe for Angela but it was dangerous for others.
Pushing through the front door, I shifted into my wolf and dashed into the thick forest. I kept running for minutes, not even knowing where I was going in particular.
The thought of Angela being away for those few days was unbearable. Coming home to find her not there would be too much for me to handle. I desperately wish she would change her mind.
âAlpha,â
Someone pressed into the mind link. It was a female voice and I quickly recognized the voice as Daisyâs.
âDaisy, what are you doing out here?â
She walked slowly up to me. Her wolf was smaller than mine and that kind of made me realize Iâd never seen Angelaâs wolf.
âI saw you run towards the wood, so I followed you,â
âYou should go back. Itâs too dangerous out here,â
âI know, Alpha but I was just worried about you. I havenât seen you in the Alphaâs mansion for a while and Iâve been wondering if I did something wrong. Do you hate me now? Did Angela tell you I did something bad to her? I donât even see Reina anymore,â

This is not the good time to talk, Daisy. You should go back. Iâll come talk to you at the mansion,â
âWe can go out for lunch tomorrow,â
âSure, letâs do that,â
âThank you, Alpha,
I could feel some movement in the woods. I couldnât pick their scents and that made it difficult for me to know if they were from my warriors or an enemy group. I followed it without looking back since Iâd dismissed Daisy and it would be stupid of her to follow me,
The first thing I saw was a cave. Iâd always noticed that cave whenever I was patrolling but nothing seemed extraordinary about it so I never bothered to check. That night, something was different.
I walked deep into the cave and saw writings on the wall. A table was in the middle of the cave with books and a lamp. The writings on the wall revealed that it was the hideout of the Resistance group. I picked up a book just as I saw a shadow run across my line of vision.
Just when I wanted to run after it, I heard a gunshot and a scream rang out.
âDaisy,â I called out through the mind link but there wasnât a response.
âDaisy,
I ran back to where I left her or dismissed her to go back and I found traces of blood. I trailed after it and soon found her still in her wolf form wounded and bleeding.
âDaisy, stay with me, I tried examining her.
âHelp me,â she cried through the mindlink.
âI need help,â I commanded through the mindlink and more than 20 warriors responded.
Daisy was dying and it was my fault.
