DARIUSâ POV
I noticed something was different with Angela. As soon as she laid eyes on the man who walked into the room a second ago, she became stiff. I grabbed her hand but she didnât look up at me. She kept on staring at her feet and her hands were twisted into a hard fist.
She was struggling to breathe and I could see sweat pulling at her forehead. The worst part was when I looked up to see the man smirking in her direction. Suddenly, I became interested in him. So interested I would love to break a few of his bones.
âIs that him?â
She didnât say a word but she grabbed my hand.
âLetâs leave this place,â I announced. That made Angela look up at me. She stared at me and I saw how red her eyes were. My feisty lady was scared of someone and it affected me so badly.
âOkay,â she didnât argue.
I held her hand tighter and walked us out of there. A lot of them turned in our direction as we left but f*ck them and f*ck their judgy stares, I wasnât going to let her stay in that place for any more minutes.
Before we left, I told one of the warriors who was a close friend of Azalea and had also followed us from Masonâs pack, to find out every f*cking information about that man for me in two hours.
I walked Angela back into the car and asked the driver to excuse us.
âLook at me,â I pleaded.
She raised those beautiful eyelashes and stared at me. âWhatâs wrong?â I asked.
She shook her head. âNothing. I just felt stuffy in there. I guess I got too emotional,â she tried covering it up but I didnât miss how her fingers trembled and shaky.
âThen, letâs find a place for you to calm down. Weâll leave for the pack by morning. What about late lunch?â
âIâm not that hungry, Darius. I just need to rest,â
âOkay, letâs do that baby,â
The driver joined us again. He drove us to a fiveâstar hotel in town. We got our keys from the reception and went into our penthouse suite.
âThis is too much, Darius. We couldâve used a place less expensive than this,â she argued.
I k*ssed her. âItâs all good baby. You deserve the best and only the best,â
I assured her.
As she took a shower, I waited outside her door. I was worried about her and at the same time, keeping my wolf at bay. It was getting impatient. It wanted to go back out there, hunt for the manâs head, and teach him a lesson he would never forget in a hurry.

She came out of the bathroom looking better and more relaxed.
âHow do you feel?â I asked, gripping her by the waist.
âI feel better but I could use a little sleep,â
I agreed. âLetâs get you to bed,â
âYou can k*ss me. Itâll make it all better,â
I lifted her and placed her on the bed before k*ssing her thoroughly. She placed her head on the pillow and she was out like light.
That got me concerned so I walked into the bathroom and saw her pills bottle on the sink. That confirmed my suspicion. She could sleep so quickly because she used those pills.
I walked back into the room, covered her better with the duvet, and walked out of the door. The guy I gave the assignment was already waiting for me. heâd gotten the manâs address. I locked the door firmly and left a warrior behind while I told the remaining three to follow me.
âHeâs a successful artist. Heâs a mentor to several kids and he has a home for kids who are into arts but having problems at home,â
That little information gave me the audacity I needed to get rid of him. He was the one who hurt My Angel. He has to pay back for what he did with his blood.
Fortunately for me, he was home when we got there. We could see his car parked in his driveway just like my warrior saw when he traced him back home from the funeral house.
âYou two, stay outside and man the door. No one is allowed in, not even if there are guns and bombs involved. You, come with me,â
I knocked on the door waiting for a response.
The man opened the door while he was on a call.
âYes, how can I help you?â
I smirked. âOh no, you wouldnât be helping me. Heavens will be helping you instead once Iâm done,â
He frowned. âWho are you? What gave you the right to come knocking at my door and spewing all sorts?â
He banged the door closed in my face.
All it took was just one kick for the door to fly open.
He was taken aback as the phone was still stuck in his ear and his mouth was widely opened. I removed the phone from his ear and ended the call for him.
âWhâwhatâwhatâwho are you?â
I looked around the house to see pictures of him and his family everywhere. He was smiling brightly with his two daughters and a boy and his wife in one of the photos.
âWeâre here to talk about Angela. Take a seat,â

âYouâre offering me a seat in my house,â he asked quietly.
âSit,â The warrior with me growled at him and he quickly plastered himself on the sofa.
âAngela Johnson, do you remember her?â
âThe name sounds familiar,â
I glared at him, revealing my claws and I saw him tremble. âI know her but itâs been a while since I last saw her,â
âRemember what you did to her,â
He swallowed hard. âI didnât do anything she didnât want. She told the police Iâd assaulted her but the truth was, she was in love with me as much as I was in love with her. I only did what lovers do. I thought she wanted it rough, maybe she didnât. The police believed me not her so Iâm sure I didnât do anything bad,â
I felt so nauseous at his words. The fact that he believed he didnât do anything wrong nauseated me. I wanted to kill him. I clenched my jaw so hard, it hurt.
I laughed.
âOkay. Now, hereâs whatâs going to happen. Iâm going to beat you to a pulp and when youâre queried by the police, youâll tell them that I didnât do anything you didnât want. I thought you love it rough so I gave you a beating the way you want it. The police would definitely believe me and not you. Iâm sure I wouldnât be doing anything thatâll be against your will,â
âWhat? Who are you?â
âYou donât need to know who I am but from todayâs henceforth, Iâll be your greatest nightmare, and trust me, Iâll always be here,â I pointed to his head. âYou touched whatâs mine. You hurt her. Youâll pay back in blood,â
I grabbed him by the collar and threw a fist to his face. I heard a bone crack but I didnât care. I did as I promised. Once I was beating him up to a pulp, I collected a pocket knife from the warrior and went ahead to trim his fingers while he screamed in pain. I did that so he wouldnât be able to draw anymore and make him the same way he messed my girl up so much an artist workshop scares her.
I shouldâve killed him but I wasnât up for a murder that day.
I was covered in his blood but I didnât care. I lifted up his head so he could hear me even in his nearâdeath state.
âI hope you rot in hell at the end of your life,â
