CHAPTER 84
A Love Reawakened The Alpha’s Regret
Chapter 84
Darius POV
âWhat was that, Darius?â Angela asked as I walked towards her. She had been waiting for me a few distance from the restaurant. I wasnât mad at her for dining with that devil but I was more mad at myself for not warning her of the looming danger. On the other hand, I was so **g Horried about Mason. I trusted him to survive but if Mason couldnât protect his people, that was enough to kill him:
âWhat was what?â I feigned ignorance.
âWhat you did out there? It was embarrassing.â
I stopped in my tracks and turned to her. I hadnât realized that. I was too blinded with anger to actually see that it was out of line. âI apologize for that. I
didnât mean to embarrass youâ
âReally? is that going to fix what you did back there?â
âNo, Angela, it wouldnât fix it and neither will killing myself to prove to you that Iâm sorry about it,â
She opened her mouth to say something but stopped. I could see the confusion in her eyes. She grabbed my hand before I could walk away. âDarius.â
âListen, Angela. What I did must have been s** but trust me, it was for your safety and for the good of this pack. Stay away from Zack,â
âWhy?â
I was getting frustrated. The explanation I just gave seemed to have evaporated into thin air and gave no meaning or maybe it wasnât enough for her.
âI have no more explanations to give you now, just stay away from him,â
âyou canât tell me why I should stay away from him, maybe thatâs because you donât trust me enough.â
âI honestly canât afford an argument with you right now,â
âWeâre having a conversation, not an argument, Darius. Couples have conversations,â
âAre we?â
She raised an eyebrow. âAre we a couple?â I asked again.
I asked her in all honesty but she didnât have a response for me. She tried to talk but then she stuttered.
âDarius, you knowâ¦I donâtâ¦weâ¦â
My greatest fear was manifesting in front of my eyes. I could do anything to prove to Angela just how much I love her a but her hesitation at moments like this was exhausting.
Truth be told, if we were a couple, her mark would be on my neck right now.
âALPHA.â
Someone yelled from behind me. I turned to see it was one of the warriors running towards me.
âWhat happened?â
and how much I want to be with her

Chapter 84
âSomeone is at the gates requesting an audience with you, Alpha. I think heâs a rogueâ
âDid he tell y you his name?
âHe said to tell you heâs a vulture,â
Ifrowned. That was the second time I would be hearing that today. First, it was Masonâs email, and now, this strange rogue at the g
âVulture? Isnât that the symbol of the Rogue King Ryker?â Angela asked. I turned to her.
âRykerâ That was the b**d my father sold this pack to.
âIâve been researching since you told me about them. I wanted to know more,â
grabbed her shoulder before she could continue talking.
âGo to the school, pick up Reina, and go home straight. Understood? Do not open the door for anyone unless I say so,â
âDarius, whatâs going on?â
âNothing I canât handle. Just go.â
She nodded frantically and ran off towards the school.
I turned to the warrior. âAlert Azalea. I want the number of warriors at the gate doubled and every other warrior should be on standby. Close the schools for now and tell everyone to go home,â
On getting to the gates, the warriors had probably been alerted because the numbers exceeded the usual number of them who were on duty at the gate.
The man in question was standing outside the gate, his hands folded against his chest. He looked too regular to be a rogue King or even a King at all. He was wearing a shirt and a jean.
âI thought rogue Kingâs had at least a bit of a fashion sense. Arenât they chameleons trying to disguise at least as regular wolves?â I spat
âHonor is due to whom honor is due to. Iâm glad you know who I am before I got to introduce myself,â
I scrunched my nose.
âThat rogue smell never goes away, does it? No matter how much you try to clean up,â
I could see his fist clenching from the way the muscles of his arms appeared.
âI didnât come here to be disrespected,â
I scoffed. âthe moment you came to my pack unannounced, youâve ripped yourself of any respect, rogue,â
âI love visiting unannounced. It kind of makes my presence more special,â
I wasnât about to have a long conversation with a b**d like him.
âTo what do I owe this unpleasant visit to my pack,â
âThat pack is mine and we both know that,â
âI donât understand,â I asked, feigning ignorance.

âYouâre Darius Darkwood. Your brother holds the key to any information, and youâre the intelligent one which was the main reason why his pack rose to prominence so quickly. You know what Iâm talking about,â
I shrugged, acting as if I honestly didnât have an idea of what he meant.
âYour father sold this pack to me before his death and that makes me the eligible Alpha of this place. Iâm here to claim whatâs rightfully mine,â
âIâm not aware of any agreement between my father and you. If itâs your money you want back, state your price,â
He laughed. âThe state of the contract clearly stated that if your father breached the contract, he would pay back in a thousand folds,â
I snickered. âA thousand folds?â
I gritted my teeth and cursed under my breath. What the f**k was going through my fatherâs head when he sold the pack? What the heck was he thinking for heavenâs sake?
âUnfortunately, my father is dead. I believe no one is paying you a thousandfold of whatever. It was a deal gone bad, so sorry for your loss. Iâm sure that contract somewhere has a clause that stated the event of death which I believe my father covered perfectly,â
Iâd seen the contract. Although I didnât read it all through, I was more focused on the termination clause. I realized my father had to be dead before the finalization of the deal for the contract to be terminated.
âI donât work the human way,
âThen, maybe you shouldnât have signed the contract the human way,â
He moved a bit closer to me. âIâm sure youâve heard about your brother. He was just wasted like a chicken. He wouldnât want you to act as d a s he
did,â
My breath hitched as his words left his mouth. I closed my eyes to restrain my monster.
I signed deeply, âwhat a shame. Sometimes, we incur a loss in life but we gotta move on,â
My words took him by surprise.
âIâll be back for whatâs mine,â
I clicked my tongue. âYouâll have to walk through hell and back before you can have this pack. You might be a rogue but we both know who people fear more than a Rogue King-Darius Darkwood. Youâll meet me where your death awaits if you come back to this pack,â
