CHAPTER 95
A Love Reawakened The Alpha’s Regret
Chapter 95
Angelaâs POV
The urgency in my momâs words was nothing compared to the pain her words carried. They werenât even only words, they were a plea. A plea for help or salvation. I didnât wait to drop the call before I barged out of the house and walked back to my momâs place.
I was lucky enough to meet her and Reina at the front door, locking up.
âMom, whatâs wrong?â
When she turned to me, I could see the tears in her eyes. She had been crying.
âI donât know, Angela. Nothingâs making sense. They called me and asked me to come to the hospital. They said Brit was at the hospital and she wasnât fine,â
âThey??â
âSome warriors,â
âIâm sure sheâs okay,â
âI have a bad feeling about this,â she answered. Even though I had no hope in me, I still went ahead to assure my mom that everything was fine.
I locked my hands with Reinaâs and she looked up at me. Her words from this morning about Brittany came back to me and I wanted to ask her but I decided till later. Something more urgent was going on and I couldnât wait to get to the hospital to see it was something minor.
We finally got to the hospital and we were welcomed by Azalea.
âMadam, your sisterâs name is Brittany, right?â
âYesâ
âYes,â both me and my mom chorused.
âOne of the warriors recognized her afterâ¦â he paused.
âAfter what?â I asked him.
âAfter she was dropped off at the packâs gate some minutes ago by a strange car. Sheâs in a critical state and I think to go in to see her first,â He suggested while looking at me.
âWhy canât I go see her?â My mother asked.
Gently he responded. âI donât think a mother should see her daughter in such a state,â
My mother gasped and she began crying again.
âHow critical are we talking?â
âWhatever it is that you think critical is, think worse,â

No!
âMaâam, please take a seat,â A nurse walked my mom to a seat at the reception before she could collapse while I asked Reina

I did as Azalea suggested and took that big deep breath. I looked through the open curtain. Brittany was in a horrible state. 1 almost collapsed into the floor but Azalea held me up. I shook my head. There was no way I could look at her twice. The bruises the big gash on her head, her twisted leg, the missing toenails. Words became replaced by bile in my throat.
I had to rush to one of the bathroom stalls to throw up. Tears rolled down my face and I had to steady my breath to be able to breathe properly.
I rested my back against the wall and covered my mouth before I finally allowed the tears to flow. I wailed for Brittany and 1 wailed for my mom. The pain, the burden, the discomfort, and the uncertainty in the days to come.
How would my mom feel when she sees her daughter in that position? The only daughter who was with her when the stupid me left her behind? She lost her husband so early in life and is she supposed to lose her daughter too?
I shook my head in response to my own question. We wonât lose Brittany. She wonât leave us.
I washed my face with water and walked out of the bathroom. Azalea was waiting for me.
âAre you okay?â He asked patiently.
No, Iâm not okay but I have to be strong for my mom,â
âYou should,â
We both walked silently to where Brittany was. She was already placed on life support and Halle was her attending physician.
âDo you think you can go in now?*
Yes,
I walked into the room and took another look at her. I knew this image of hers would haunt me for my life. Maybe if Iâd tried so hard to stop her from leaving, Brittany would be hale and hearty and not this wounded person I was staring at.
âAngela, Halle placed a hand on the small of my back.
âHelp her, please,â I begged.
I would roll on the floor, eat dirt, or sleep in the drainage just to save my sister.
My eyes lingered on her lifeless body and the more I looked at her, the angrier I got. What couldâve happened? What couldâve gone wrong? She was a smart girl. She was a good girl. Whoever dropped her off at the gates definitely knew who she was. This wasnât a case of coincidence.
Iâll do my very best to save her, Angela but sheâs in a life threatening condition. Not even her wolf can save her right now. Only a miracle can,â
I nodded. âThen, I need a miracle. She canât die, Halle. She just canât,â
âSheâs such a good girl. She doesnât deserve to be in this state,â
âWhat couldâve happened to her?â

âBefore she was intubated, she woke up for a few seconds and repeatedly murmured Zackâs name. What do you think? Is he her mate? Was there any relationship between them?â
I suddenly had a thought. âdoes she bear a mark?â
She shook her head. âIt was the first thing I looked for. If she had a mate, his closeness to her would help her heal a bit faster but I found nothing,â
Without saying a word to her, I walked out of the room. Before I could walk out of the hospital to carry out my mom stopped me.

âHowâs she?â
âSheâs bad, mom. More bad than you can think,â
She nodded. âSheâs a strong girl. Sheâll be fine,â
I hugged her and she hugged me back tightly. âIâm sure sheâll be fine,â
âI should go see her,â.I couldnât stop her from seeing Brittany. She was her daughter after all.
After she left to see Brittany, I sat down with Reina. She was dozing off and waking up at intervals. My poor baby girl.
âIs Aunt Brit okay?â She asked before I could make the call I wanted to make.
I forced a smile. âSheâll be fine,â
âI told Daddy she was hurt and he also said she was fine,â
I frowned. âHow do you know Brittany was hurt?â
âI saw it,â
âSaw it? Where?â
My eyes went to the phone for a second and I realized Zack had already picked up the call.
âHello Angela,â
âZack? What happened to my sister?â I left Reina and walked away from her.
âAngela, listenâ¦â
âDonât you fucking deny you know nothing about what happened? She was closest to you before she suddenly left the pack and even now your name is all she keeps on muttering so you fucking better start talking,â I halfâlied
There was silence for a little while.
âI canât talk about it on the phone, Angela. Itâs not safe. We need to meet. What happened to Brittany is bigger than what it may appear to be. I canât come into the pack because Darius banned me,â
âIâm sure he did that because he didnât trust you,â
âYes, he didnât trust me with you. He thought something was going on between us. That was why he asked me to leave,â
His explanation sounded reasonable but I couldnât trust him fully.
âIâll get to decide where we should meet,â

I turned back to see Reina sleeping soundly on the cold metal c and kissed her.
âMama,â she murmured. She was still sleeping and talking.
âYes, honey,â
âDonât leave me, mamaâ
âI wonât baby, I promise,â
