Chapter 875
Lord death is now back home
Chapter 875
By now, she had seen and experienced much. She could clearly feel
that the man standing before her, Bob, was no ordinary individual.
There was a distinct aura about him, something that set him apart from
ordinary people. Yet, Bob appeared cautious, even somewhat fearful in
the presence of Chris Shelby. Esther couldn't understand what Chris
Shelby could possibly have to be afraid of.
However, Chris Shelby remained silent. She also stood quietly by his
side, saying nothing. In the presence of outsiders, Esther was always
mindful to maintain the dignity of Chris Shelby, the head of their
household.
With a cold look, Chris Shelby glanced at Bob and emotionlessly
asked, "What brings you here? Did that old man send you?"
Cough, cough!
Bob couldn't help but feign a cough.
What a difficult position the young master put him in! In all of Amerosia,
only Chris Shelby dared to refer to Todd Shelby as an "old man".
Bob didn't respond. There was no way he could respond to that!
"This is an invitation from the old master for the young mistress,â Bob
said, pulling out an invitation from his pocket and offering it to Esther
with both hands.
"For me?" Esther was surprised.
With a friendly smile, Bob replied, "Yes! Young mistress, the old master
wishes to invite you over for a visit! After all, you've been married to the
young master for so many years and you haven't yet visited your
husband's family..."
"Shut up!" Chris Shelby glared at Bob before he could finish his
sentence, "Speak nonsense again, and I'll tear your mouth apart!"
Hearing this, Bob promptly closed his mouth. He knew all too well that
Chris Shelby was a man of his word.
Esther rolled her eyes at Chris Shelby, then smiled at Bob, "Thank you,
elder!" She took the invitation from him. Her husband was good, but he
seemed to only know about fighting and killing, not even treating elders
with courtesy.
Seeing Esther accept the invitation, Bob's face lit up with a smile,
âYoung mistress, I shall take my leave now." With that, he turned and
ran off, afraid that if he lingered, Chris Shelby might indeed slaughter
him!
As Chris Shelby watched Bob flee, he snorted coldly. If it weren't for
Esther being there, he certainly wouldn't have let the old man off so
easily.
Esther opened the invitation. It was written simply: âInviting Esther to
join the Shelby family for a casual meal.â
Esther turned her head and scrutinized Chris Shelby, "Dear, I don't
recall ever hearing about you having family. Weren't you a vagrant?
How can there suddenly be a âShelby family'?"
Cough, cough! Seeing Esther's gaze, Chris Shelby, like Bob, pretended
to cough. He knew that if he didn't provide a reasonable explanation
today, Esther wouldn't let him off the hook.
Chris Shelby could only sigh and say, "Dear, do you remember the
story I told you about the vagrant?"
Esther's face turned serious. Of course, she remembered.
Chris Shelby had once told her that there was a young man, born into a
well-off family, living a carefree life. He had a father who loved him, and
a mother who loved him. He could have lived a carefree life forever. But
one morning, the loving father he knew suddenly changed and drove
the young boy and his mother out of their home. The boy and his
mother were left helpless and homeless, and ultimately, the boy's
mother died of illness due to hunger and cold.
And the boy, all alone, wandered from the north to the south.
