Cole spent the first couple of seconds, admiring the room. It was everything boys of their age would want their room to be like. It had the most beautiful pieces of furniture, it was spacious and very lovely. Cole did not doubt that Hailey had done so well to make the twins happy and comfortable. She has literally been the one providing for them since they were born and he suddenly started feeling jealous for not having a hand in it.

“Come to my bed, Enzo. So Daddy can read to us together.” Ollie said since they’ve got their separate beds.

Cole picked a bedtime story and went over to the double–sized bed. He covered the twins with the duvet.

“Dad, what happened to your arm?” Enzo saw it so he asked with so much concern.

Staring at his arm, Cole shrugged, bringing down the sleeves of his cardigan. “It’s nothing.”

Enzo sat up, tears were already welling up in the little boy’s eyes. “Are you sick?”

“No, no, please don’t cry buddy.”

Ollie sat up too. “Enzo falls sick sometimes and when he does, Mommy and Aunt Debbie have to take him to the hospital. Enzo hates hospitals because of needles and drugs. He hates it too when someone close to him is sick. He knows well about the pain and he doesn’t want anyone to feel the pain.”

Cole smiled, caressing Enzo’s cheek.”

“I am fine, buddy. It’s just a bruise but it is healing already.”

“Does it hurt?” Enzo asked, not feeling convinced.

Cole shook his head. “The doctor gave me some medications so I’m fine. I am just waiting for the bruise to heal.

“You’ve got nothing to worry about, okay?”

The little boys nodded.

“Will you live with us?” Ollie asked out of the blue.

“Yes, Daddy. Audrey’s parents live together. We should live together also,”

Cole smiled, “I want that too.”

“I am going to talk to your mommy about it, okay?”

The boys nodded, smiling. “They placed their heads on the pillows and Cole started reading to them.

They interrupted with so many questions which Cole was more than happy to answer. And the little boys finally fell asleep after thirty minutes when Cole started the third book.

He spent more than five minutes watching the boys sleep. He couldn’t believe that he and Hailey made such beautiful babies.

After what felt like forever, Cole rose to his feet, returned the books to the shelf, tucked the boys in properly, and then kissed their foreheads. He watched them sleep for one more minute before quietly exiting the room.

He found Hailey in the bar area of the living room, she was sipping from a glass cup. Cole approached her with his hands in his pocket.

“Hi”

“Take your leave!” She said, not taking a glance at him.

Cole frowned. “What do you mean?”

Hailey placed her cup on the bar counter. “Take your leave!” She said again, pointing

towards the exit.

“Are you kidding me? Isn’t this the part where you tell me why you have two boys who look like me in this house and I never knew about it?”

“I don’t know what you are talking about. Please take your leave.””

“I am going nowhere until you tell me what the fuck is going on!”

“Nothing is going on. Ollie and Enzo are not yours. Just take your leave and never come back into our lives.”

“I have had enough of you and your pranks, Hailes. God knows I have been so damn patient with you. What the hell did you mean they aren’t mine?”

“And why do you care?” Hailey glared at him, rising to her feet.

“I just got to know today that I have two children, twin boys, four

sold, and you dare ask me why do 221 know I have been a total jackass to you but do you really have to treat me this way without any sympathy?”

“For fucks sake, kids tend to look a lot like random people when they are little! Stop assuming that they are

yours.

Cole chuckled in disbelief. “I don’t know you to be a liar. Please don’t start now!”

“My head hurts already. Just take your leave.”

“Why did they call me Daddy?”

“Oh trust me, they are pulling your legs. They will definitely not remember you when they wake up. That’s kids for you.”

“Then who is their father!” Cole asked, trying to hide his hurt from her last statement.

“Why do you care?”

“Because I have a right to know.”

“No, you don’t.”

“Is it Tyler?” He asked even when he was almost certain that Tyler wasn’t their Dad as the twins looked nothing

like him.

“Why do you care?”

“I wanted children so I opted for Insemination. I carried them in my belly and birthed them when they were due. It was just me caring for them as their mother and father. Enzo and Ollie are mine only. That’s the info you want. Can you please take your leave? It is my bedtime already.”

“I am sorry you had to do everything alone but I am not leaving here. You can’t keep fooling me, Hailey,”

“Oh really?” She voiced out, folding her arms.

“I did the calculations and it makes sense.”

“What silly calculations?” She threw him a deadly glare.

“The night we made love.”

“We made love?”

“Stop giving me that innocent look Hailey, you know I am telling the truth.”

“What truth?”

Hailey chuckled in disbelief. “I can’t tell what amuses me the most. The fact that I just told you that the twins are MINE ALONE or the fact that you are just mentioning that night for the first time in our lives.”
