“Your wife? Are you freaking kidding me? She divorced you and you are still calling her your wife? Where the hell was she when I was being a very good girlfriend to you all these years?”

“Stop all these, Vanessa. I don’t have time for your tantrum.” He was about to exit the restroom but she stopped him.

“You are mine now, and don’t even try to force yourself on her just because she’s rich.”

“You don’t get it do you?” Cole said, staring at her in disbelief.

“I don’t care! Just stay the hell away from her!”

“Hailey is my wife and no one is going to take her place away from my life or my heart!” Cole shrugged Vanessa out of the way, leaving her behind.

Tears rolled down her cheeks the moment Cole was out of the picture. With her back against the wall, Vanessa slid down her ass landing on the cold floor. She opened her purse and took out her phone. With shaky hands, She located a certain number and dialed it immediately.

“Mom!!!!” She cried.

“My love, What is it? Who hurt you?” Connie’s worried voice came through.

“I lost it all, Mom.” She sniffled.

“Lost what? Talk to me, my love. How did the meeting go?”

“Terrible! Hailey is back.”

“Hailey? Isn’t she dead already?”

“She’s back. She owns ENROL. She is the new CEO of the company and now She wants to take Cole away from

me.”

“What?”

“How’s that even possible?”

“I don’t know, mom. Grandfather made her the heir and not me. She owns ENROL. She is taking over everything. Dad couldn’t even look into her eyes because he was so ashamed and Cole kept running after her.” Vanessa

cried.

“I’ve come so far and I don’t want to see all my efforts get wasted. This is really a slap to my face. She can have the company for all I care but there is no way I’m losing Cole to her.”

“Please come home, sweetheart and let’s talk about it. I’m going to talk to your father. There is probably a mix- up in your Grandfather’s will.”

“What if She tells Dad that I beat her up and made her lose her baby?”

“Come on, Sweetheart. Your Dad didn’t believe her when she tried to defend herself that she was drugged and ended up in the same bed with Cole. What makes you think he’s going to believe her now?”

“Hailey is rich now. It’s not going to be long before she becomes anyone’s favorite.”

“How rich?”

“I just said she owns ENROL”

“You should see her, Mom. Hailey looks way out of our league. Her handbag is a limited edition. That shit is almost a hundred thousand. I never believed there was karma but this is what it’s starting to look like.”

“This is so hard to believe. Where did she get money from to start up a company? Your allowance was five times more than what your father used to give her. Nothing is adding up.” Connie said, feeling confused.

“She is probably screwing someone who’s funding her lifestyle. It doesn’t even matter because I deserve all the good life she’s living and not her. She is the stepdaughter. She should suffer.”

“Come home, my dear. Let’s talk about this properly.”

Connie heard her daughter crying.

“I don’t want to lose Cole.”

“Then you need to make him marry you as soon as possible.”

Vanessa sighed deeply. “It’s so hard to get in bed with him.”

“How hard can it be, Vee? You implicated your step–sister. Why is it so hard to get it done for yourself? Try

harder!”

“Four years is more than enough time for you and Cole to get together and form a family. I don’t know what your both spent so much time doing?”

“What now? Are you blaming me, ma?”

“Who the hell knew Hailey was gonna rise from the dead?”

Cole met his Itam by the elevator.

“Sorry boss. I went to attend some calls.”

“Where is Hailey?”

“She left with her boyfriend.”

“What a fucker.” Cole approached the elevator and pressed the button twice, waiting impatiently for it to open.

“What’s going on Sir?” Itam asked, really concerned.

“There is no way I’m going to let her leave me again.”

“You mean the company?”

“She’s my wife dammit!!!”

Itam frowned. The door to the lift opened. Cole entered and as confused as Itam was, he followed suit.

The lift started going down before he let those words out of his chest.

“You guys are married? Where? How?”

“You are not even wearing a ring and I don’t remember her wearing one. That’s why those office her.”

Cole turned to face Itam. “They dare flirt with my woman?”

“Sir, Hailey isn’t just any woman. I told you earlier that she was the brain behind most of our projects. She was calm and loving. No sensible man would see a good woman and let her pass by.” Itam completed his sentence before he realized that he had gone too far, indirectly shading his boss.

“I’m sorry, Sir, what I mean is that…..”

“Give me their names. The names of everyone who had a crush on or flirted with Hailey. They will be fired.”

“And if I find out that you had a crush on her, I’m going to murder you.”

The door to the elevator opened. Cole glared at Itam before exiting.

Itam continued to stare in shock because he had never seen his boss this possessive and upset over a woman. Cole’s weird behavior earlier upon seeing Hailey started to make sense with him.

Snapping out of his thoughts, Itam exited the elevator and ran after his boss out of the building.

“Fuck!!!!” Cole cursed, seeing Hailey’s car just drove off.

He reached for his phone in his pocket and traced the number of a private investigator. He found it and dialed immediately.

“I need every truth and dirt I can find on the owner of ENROL Enterprise! Hailey.”
