Chapter 301
His Lordship Alexander Kane
Chapter 0301
Outside Sunlight Club, a ridiculous spectacle was taking place.
Hovering about 50 meters up was a private chopper, perfectly still in the sky. A Ledger family bodyguard stood at the open cabin
door, eyes nearly popping out as he watched Andrew and Hec Hunter rolling around below.â Andrew? And the two Envoys? What
in the world happened to you guys?â
Andrew, Hec, and Hunter were fighting back tears. Without a peep from Alexander, they did not dare to even try
standing up.
âWhat's going on with them, rolling around on the ground like that?â
âHey, ainât that Mister Kane from New Chesire Group? Those three are making a scene on the ground. Did they
cross Mister Kane or something?â
âCheck it out, everyone! Thereâs a chopper up there! And look at the side, itâs got âZabaleta Ledger familyâ
written all over it...â
On the side of the road, cars kept pulling over to watch the commotion, and shoppers paused, staring in
disbelief.
*The Ledgers here in Ol' Mare?â one whispered, eyes wide. âI heard theyâre big shots. What brings them to our
neck of the woods?â
âBig shots or not, they canât just throw their weight around here,â another scoffed. âA helicopter? Big deal. We've seen fighter jets
in Ol Mare before!â
The crowd's biting comments stung like knives. Andrew, Hec, and Hunterâs cheeks flamed with shame.
They had been chased halfway down the street, skidding across an intersection before finally disappearing from sight. Only then
did they pick themselves up, let the helicopter drop a ladder, and climb aboard, teeth
clenched in anger.
âAlexander...â Andrew muttered, nursing his injured hand inside the chopper as he glared at the Sunlight Club below. âWe'll
report back to Mister Marcus Ledger in Zabaleta. This Alexander, whoever he is, is going to pay
dearly.â
Two hours later, at the Ledger familyâs mansion, Marcus was livid. He hurled priceless antiques across the
room, shattering them against the walls
âIncompetent fools!â he bellowed. âYou've dragged the Ledger name through the mud by making a spectacle
on the streets of Olâ Mare!â
âFighter communityâs Grandmaster, raking in over a hundred fifty million a year... The Ledgers pay you a fortune, and this is your
best? What good are you to us if you canât even handle a B-list star?!â
Andrew, Hec, and Hunter knelt on the floor humiliated.
+15 BONOS
They had pushed themselves to the limit, but Alexander was a nightmare they had not anticipated. It made sense then why
Wanda had bolted to Olâ Mare, a place even the devil would think twice before entering.
âMister Marcus Ledger.â
Andrewâs head was low, eyes burning with a fierce resolve. He suddenly looked up, his words biting. âThe underground in Ol
Mare is a fortress, and Alexander... His power is off the charts!â
Marcusâ brow furrowed deeply as he stared down at Andrew, âEnough babbling, what's your point?â
Andrew quickly averted his gaze, his tone venomous, âSir, you let Kelvin off easy before, not wanting to stoop to his level.
However, heâs Wandaâs agent. Close to her, very close.
âIf we use him as bait...â
He did not get to finish. Marcusâ eyes sparked with interest, and he bellowed, âBring me Kelvin, now!â
In a flash, two Ledger bodyguards appeared, dragging a tightly bound Kelvin into the living room.
âMister Marcus Ledger!â
Kelvin had been trapped in the Ledger familyâs basement for over 24 hours. When he caught sight of Marcus. hope flickered in
his eyes, and he begged, âYou're a man of great understanding, please donât judge us small- timers by your standards.
âI admit, I messed up with Wanda. I shouldâve kept a better eye on her. Iâm begging you, Mister Marcus Ledger! Have mercy on
me, and let Wanda off the hook, too...â
With a swift kick, Marcus sent Kelvin tumbling across the floor, laughing cruelly. âYou're knocking on deathâs door, and you still
want to beg for that little traitor Wanda? You're a loyal agent, Iâll give you that. Why didnât I notice that before?!â
Knocking on deathâs door?
Ashiver ran through Kelvinâs bound body, and he struggled to rise, his face drained of color. âMister Marcus Ledger, I swear I had
no clue about Wanda running off. I've got no beef with you, and Iâm hoping you can look
the other way, I...â
The sound of a harsh slap echoed as Kelvinâs cheek stung from the impact.
âClueless? Please!â
Marcus shook his aching hand and spat on Kelvinâs face with contempt. âYou think Iâm an idiot? Wanda couldnât have made it to
Ol Mare without your help. Iâm done wasting words on you. Clean her up and bring her to me by tomorrow night, or get ready to
pick up your parentsâ bodies.â
