Return of the Crowned Heiress Chapter 460
Return of the Crowned Heiress
Felicia fell silent again. Then, she burst out laughing. Some apologies were meaningless. An apology could neither erase the past nor heal the wounds of those who
had been hurt.
Of course, Felicia didnât bother figuring out what Dexter was apologizing for. She wasnât interested. Instead, she replied flatly, âAnything else?â
âWait, donât hang up! Your mom and I want to see you. Where are you now, Licia? Would you consider moving back home?â Dexter was desperate.
Felicia couldnât believe it. Was her ears playing tricks on her?
Dexter remained unaware of how laughable he sounded. âLicia, please give us another chance. Let us make it up to you, okay?â
So
Felicia cursed them and hung up the phone.
Myra hadnât even gotten the chance to say a word. Her expression darkened when she learned the call ended.
âSee? Weâve already compromised, and sheâs still ungrateful. Sheâs clearly holding a grudge against us!â Myra almost smashed the phone, but the device wasnât hers. It belonged to the landlord.
The old man quickly snatched his phone back and slammed the door shut.
On the way home, Myra grumbled, âWhat a waste of time, running around in the middle of the night! We said all the right things, yet she couldnât care less! That ungrateful girl. How could she be our daughter? Iâm starting to think sheâs a curse sent here just to make me miserable!
âWhat did I do to deserve this? Why does fate have to torment me like this-â
Myra complained in frustration. She couldnât help but feel wronged. Time and time again, she had tried to mend her relationship with Felicia. But Felicia always refused to yield!
How could she not feel angry over it?
After venting for what felt like forever, Myra suddenly realized Dexter had been silent the entire time. She glanced over at him. âWhy arenât you saying anything? Do you think Iâm wrong too?â
Dexter stopped in his tracks and shook his head.
âThen why are youâ¦â Myra looked at him in confusion.
Dexter sighed and looked at her. âI had a dream before I woke up. It was a vivid one. It felt so real as if it had actually happened.â
He began recounting the dream. He told her about how Felicia was brought back to the family, only for them to favor Kayla and declare that Felicia was adopted.
He spoke of how Kayla repeatedly framed Felicia, even faking her death and leading everyone to believe that Felicia had killed Kayla.
And finally, how they, as Feliciaâs parents, had driven her out of the house and allowed Arnold to send her to prison, where she endured unspeakable torment.
Dexter recounted the entire dream and didnât leave out any details.
Myra listened closely. The way he described it sounded real. She immediately protested, âImpossible! Thereâs no way Iâd ever allow something like that to happen. Sheâs still my daughter no matter what. How could I just stand by and watch her die?â
Myra was confident.
He shook his head. âBut what if that dream was real? Or rather⦠it actually happened in a past life?â
