Return of the Crowned Heiress Chapter 504
Return of the Crowned Heiress
Imogen slapped a hand over her mouth and shook her head. âI said I wonât let Felicia marry into the family. I wonât allow itâ¦â
Johanna could barely contain her frustration.
But on second thought, her schemes hadnât been in vain since Felicia and Imogenâs relationship had turned hostile. They couldnât be on good terms again, especially with Archieâs death looming over them.
Now, Stephan was caught in a dilemma. Would he choose his sister or his lover? No matter which side he supported, the other would be abandoned.
Felicia was bound to be sacrificed.
When that time came, taking down Felicia and her family would be far easier.
Johanna smirked at the thought. She softened her tone to comfort Imogen, saying, âImogen, donât cry. I didnât mean to pressure you. Believe me, no one feels your pain more than I do. But as for Stephanâ¦â
Before Johanna could finish, a maid rushed in. âThereâs been an incident, Ms. Russell!â
âWhat incident?â Imogenâs heart sank
âItâs Mr. Russell! Heâs gone missing. They say heâs injured and his whereabouts are unknown!â the maid shouted.
âWhat?â The news hit Imogen hard. Her vision blurred, and she nearly fainted.
The maid hurried to support her, cursing herself for delivering the report so suddenly. If anything happened to Imogen because of this, she would have to bear the blame,
Imogen clung to the maidâs sleeve desperately. âExplain! What happened?â
The maid had no choice but to reveal everything. âTen days ago, Mr. Russell led a team to a remote rainforest. However, only one member of the team managed to send a message back. He said Mr. Russell is injured and now missing!â
Injuries and disappearances⦠These words only brought bad luck.
Imogenâs heart went cold. All her anger and resentment were replaced by overwhelming guilt and worry. The thought of Stephan potentially being in danger while she had been berating him sent waves of regret crashing over her.
She had even threatened to sever their sibling bond, oblivious to the risks he might be facing.
Imogen pushed the maid away. âHave you sent anyone to search for him? Do it now!â
âDonât worry, Ms. Russell. Weâve deployed search teams. Weâll find Mr. Russell. I promise!â the maid promised.
But no reassurance could quell her anxiety.
âIâm such a useless sisterâ¦â Tears streamed down Imogenâs face as dark thoughts crowded her mind. She felt lost
The last time she had felt this way was when she learned of Archieâs death. Back then, Stephan had immediately arranged search
teams.
This time, Stephan himself was missing.
With no one else to lean on, Imogen realized for the first time how much she had depended on her brotherâs unwavering support over the years. She had taken for granted her carefree life and sense of superiority as his sister.
How could she have been so ignorant?
Imogen took a deep breath. âPrepare a plane. Iâm going there myself!â
