Return of the Crowned Heiress Chapter 664
Return of the Crowned Heiress
Scarlet shifted gears and hit the gas in one smooth motion, sending up acloud of dust as the car sped off. It quickly vanished from view.
It wasnât until Maurice was completely out of sight that Scarlet finally spoke up, âBoss, do you really think he went to all that trouble just for a bottle of medicine? Doesnât that
âI donât know,â Felicia replied with a frown. Mauriceâs unpredictable nature always kept her on edge. Though he had toned it down a bit recentlyâeven letting Dexter and Myra go during the rainforest incident it didnât change the fact that Maurice was a dangerous man,
The best way to deal with someone like him was to stay far, far away.
A thought suddenly struck Felicia. She glanced at the back of her hand, where Maurice had patted her earlier. For some reason, that spot felt faintly itchy.
But after inspecting it closely, she saw nothing unusual.
Was it just her imagination?
Shaking her head, Felicia muttered, âI should keep my distance next time.â
Before long, the car returned to the Russell residence.
Later that evening, Stephan arrived home. Felicia, meanwhile, was in the bedroom, packing her belongings.
She had come here on short notice and had brought almost nothing with her, but after a few days of staying at the Russell residence, her things had somehow multiplied. Stephan had insisted on buying her clothes and essentials, filling up the walkâin closet with everything she could possibly need
Not wanting to bother with a suitcase, Felicia packed only the items she had actually used into a backpack.
As she zipped it up, the bedroom door swung open. Felicia looked up to see Stephan walking toward her, unbuttoning his shirt as he came closer.
The bright lights made everything feel a bit surreal, and even when he was standing right in front of her, his handsome features looked almost too perfect to be real
Felicia cleared her throat and was just about to look away when Stephan cupped her chin, thing her head upward. A moment later, his warm, dry lips pressed against hers. âDid you miss me?
e?â Stephan asked.
Felicia blinked and countered, âDo you want the truth or a lie?â
The answer was obvious. If she asked like that, it meant she hadnât missed him much. Stephan let out a small laugh, then teasingly bit her lip. âI knew youâd say that, you heartless little thing.
Felicia couldnât help but laugh. âAlright I missed you a little!â
To emphasize, she held up her fingers to show just how tiny âa little was. Stephan raised an eyebrow, smirking. âIs that y
idea of comforting me?
Felicia was tempted to tease him further but decided against it for the sake of her sleep. She offered a few sweet words, finallycoaxing a smile from his dark, brooding eyes. However, she underestimated Stephanâs knack for payback. That single comment led to him âteasingâ her all night long, leaving her utterly exhausted
It wasnât until down that Felicia finallyfell asleep, utterly drained
Today was the day she was supposed to return to Khagend, but with the Russell familyâs private jet at her disposal, she didnât bother setting an alarm. By the time she woke up, it
was dready noonâ¦
After washing up and eating, it was already 2:00 pm
âLetâs go,â Felicia said
She exchanged goodbyes with Imogen, who walked with her all the way to the airstrip behind the residence. âCome back anytime,â Imogen reminded her warmly-
Felicia didnât say much, only giving Stephan a quick glance before boarding the plane with Scarlet.
But just as they were about to step onto the aircraft, something caught Feliciaâs attention
From the other end of the airstrip, a strong beam of light flashed several times. Felicia instinctively turned to look and spotted someone on the mountain road holding up a mirror, using the sunlight to signal in their direction.
That person was none other than Johanna!
