Sima You Yue glanced at him, not afraid that he would be angry.

“Are you so certain that I won’t be angry at you?” Di Zhe slapped her hand away while many pairs of eyes were watching.

“Yes!” She answered confidently, she wasn’t angry despite her hand being slapped as she passed him her handkerchief.

Di Zhe took the handkerchief as he wiped the blood from the corner of his lips, with the fresh scar still hurting.

“I wasn’t returning his past favours, I just didn’t want to forget the little warmth from that year.” Di Zhe explained.

“I know.” Sima You Yue understood how he felt. His life was filled with darkness, hopelessness and loneliness before he met Yu Ke Luo. Third Elder Di should have given him a good life as his Grandfather. He should have been the one protecting him, but it would be hard under those circumstances.

Also, he didn’t want to forget those times too as it was still his past even though it was dark.

“Thank you.” Di Zhe thanked her for standing up for him and for understanding him.

“You don’t have to thank me, but what is up with Meng Ru Ji?” Sima You Yue asked.

“Meng Ru Ji is one of Ghost Concubine’s men and he is also Meng clan’s second-in-command. We found out that he was helping the Ghost Concubine to contact the Prince from below, so we killed him. The Di clan’s finances has always been reliant on the Meng Clan.” Di Zhe didn’t explain much but Sima You Yue understood what was going on.

The Meng clan would not let this matter go since he had killed Meng Ru Ji. However,?they couldn’t do anything to Di Zhe so they vented their anger on the Di Clan by restricting them financially.

“Do you intend to deal with the Meng Clan as well?” Although it sounded like she was asking, her voice sounded confident.

“Yes.” Di Zhe admitted, “Ghost Concubine’s finances are heavily dependent on the Meng Clan. We will first have to deal with the Meng Clan before we can deal with Ghost Concubine.”
