Chapter 442 - Buying Information

“Heheh… Heheh…” The innkeeper smiled wildly, hugging the crystals, attracting everyone’s attention. This innkeeper was indeed money-minded that he was unafraid of offending those from the Heavenly Tiger Hall and was not at all afraid of being arrested by them.

Only Sima You Yue and the rest could tell that this inn was no ordinary inn, and that that innkeeper was no ordinary man. Even if this innkeeper was that money-minded, he wouldn’t be willing to risk his life for money. “This is your room! This is the key, and feel free to call us should you need anything.” The butler said while passing the keys to Sima You Yue, before exiting down the stairs. Sima You Yue passed the keys to each person. After receiving their keys, they went into their own rooms to rest.

Sima You Yue looked around the house before returning downstairs. When the innkeeper had caught sight of her, he smiled at her. Sima You Yue walked over and placed a bag of crystals on the table. When the innkeeper saw the jewels, he smiled happily and said, “Do you have any needs?”

“I’ll trade fifty crystals for some information.” Sima You Yue said unhesitatingly.

The innkeeper looked at the crystals and then back at Sima You Yue, saying, “I don’t know that much about the Heavenly Tiger Hall myself. If you give me this much, you’re not getting much in return.”

“I don’t want to hear about the Heavenly Tiger Hall.” Sima You Yue said. She had already heard what she needed from Zhou Shu Ren, and did not need much more of that.

“What do you want to know then?” The innkeeper asked.

“I want to know about the outsides of the Heavenly Tiger Ridge.” Sima You Yue said.

The innkeeper’s eyes shone, saying, “How would I know about the things outside of the Heavenly Tiger Hall?”

“Aren’t you from the Heavenly Tiger Ridge? How could you not know about the goings-on there?” Sima You Yue smiled, saying, not giving him a chance to deny his identity. “If you’re not interested in the crystals, then there’s no point continuing this conversation.” With that, she proceeded to remove the crystals, but not before his hand scooped them away.

“Ask what you want.” The innkeeper said.

Sima You Yue saw that the innkeeper had a rather hesitant look on his face and smiled, asking, “I want to know if there is any other way to leave the Heavenly Tiger Hall other than through the Hall’s transportation array.”

“There is.” The innkeeper replied.

“How? Sima You Yue asked.

“The Heavenly Tiger Ridge is very small. If you ride a flying beast, you will reach in a few month’s time.” The innkeeper replied. Sima You Yue frowned – what kind of terrible answer is that?

“Are there no other transportation arrays?” She asked.

“No.” The innkeeper shook his head. “The Heavenly Tiger Ridge is very secluded and backwards. There are not much resources for refinery, and so those of power do not wish to come down here.”

“How did you get here then?”

The innkeeper hesitated for a moment before he said, “I am stuck here. Who knew that after I arrived that the Heavenly Tiger Hall’s transportation array would break down. I was also too lazy to ride a flying beast, so I just decided to stay.”

“The transportation array to the Heavenly Tiger Hall is broken?” Sima You Yue was shocked.

“Yeah.” The innkeeper looked at Sima You Yue, saying, “Were you hoping to ride on the array to get out?” Sima You Yue nodded in response. They had come to the Great City to borrow the transportation array. But now that it was broken, how were they going to leave?

“You guys are really bold. You want to use their transportation array, and you’ve even beaten up their family member.” The innkeeper said.

“In the Flower City. It’s a place that is one level greater than the Heavenly Tiger Hall.” The innkeeper said. “The Cloud City is above the Flower City, and a level greater than that would be the Innumerable Green City. The Innumerable Green City and the other cities form the city center.

Sima You Yue could tell that the innkeeper was very familiar with all this information and guessed that this innkeeper was not as ordinary as he was trying to portray himself to be. But she was not interested enough in his private matters to care to know more.

“Do you want to know how to go to the Central City?”

The innkeeper never thought that Sima You Yue would ask about the Central City and said, “The Central City isn’t on good terms with the South Seventh Province, and it’s hard to travel between these two places.”

“There should be a transportation array that can bring you there, right?” Sima You Yue asked.

“There is, but not just anyone can use that array.” The innkeeper said.

“Tell me what kinds of people have been able to.” Sima You Yue’s reckoning that this innkeeper was no ordinary person was growing stronger and stronger. He simply knew too much about the other areas.

“The one that is closest to here would be the Innumerable Green Temple.” The innkeeper said, somewhat proudly. “This Innumerable Green Temple is this area’s greatest power, and it watches over the cultivation of the area. Sima You Yue raised a brow. He’d even been to the Central Circle? How could someone like this simply remain here? Then again, no matter what the reason, she believed that it couldn’t simply be because of the broken transportation array, or simply because he didn’t wish to ride on a flying beast.

Following that, Sima You Yue managed to gain more information regarding the Flower City and the Innumerable Green Temple from the innkeeper. The innkeeper told her everything in detail, but asked for a doubled price in return. The more she heard from him, the more it confirmed her suspicious that he was not a simple person.

“Innkeeper, if there ever comes a day when you would like to leave with us, I will be asking for a high price.” Sima You Yue smiled, saying. It would definitely not be easy to earn money off her, especially for this innkeeper. He kept his mouth shut if there was no payment. Although two hundred crystals were not a big deal to her, she didn’t like having others take advantage of her.

The innkeeper knew that she was saying that this price was high, but he never considered the possibility of leaving with them as a reality. Although he was tired of the place, he found himself trying to find reasons to leave.
