“Making the soup.” Sima You Yue prepared those things swiftly before placing it into the pot to boil. When it started to release fragrance, she put the mushrooms in to boil.

As the soup was boiling, she came beside the bull and cut off a piece of its meat and took some water to wash it clean. Then, she cut it into thin strips and placed it onto a tray.

Han Miao Shuang took a piece of it and was so surprised that she couldn’t speak when she saw that it was sliced so thinly it was almost transparent.

Su Xiao Xiao had been captivated by Sima You Yue’s practised actions ever since she started working, and subconsciously stopped what he was doing.

“Smells so good!”

The fragrance wafted out from inside the pot, drawing Han Miao Shuang’s attention immediately. She threw down the piece of meat in her hands and ran over to the huge pot and lifted its lid. As she did, a denser fragrance of the meat came pouring out, filling the entire courtyard with its delicious smell.

The place just beside the courtyard belonged to Xu Jin and the others. Those two who were upstairs, fast asleep, were woken by the delicious fragrance. They rolled around on their bed for a moment before they finally could not help being hooked by its wonderful smell. They crawled up from their bed and looked out the window.

They saw three of them gathered around a pot in the courtyard happily while eating. Even Xiao Xiao had placed his broom down. This was something they had never seen before.

Sima You Yue looked at the two of them who were eating so happily and sighed inwardly. This was her first day to the sect, but she had yet to see her teacher and had already fought with others. After that, she was kidnapped and dragged over and relegated to be their chef.

“Xiao Xiao, are you done sweeping the courtyard?” Xu Jin leaned on the window and looked at the three of them grumpily.

“Master, I’ll continue cleaning the courtyard later. I’m going to eat Little Junior Brother’s cooking first.” Su Xiao Xiao had a piece of meat held between his chopsticks as he dipped it inside the soup for a few moments. He then dipped it into Sima You Yue’s handmade seasoning before eating it boiling hot. He even had to blow out hot hair when he placed it into his mouth.

As for Han Miao Shuang, she didn’t even raise her head as her eyes and hands were wandering around wantonly.

Xu Jin watched his two disciples and had not yet decided whether or not he wanted to go down to try it out when Jiang Jun Zhe beat him to it and dragged his half-awake body down the stairs.

“Let me try.” Jiang Jin Zhe pulled Su Xiao Xiao away and sat down in his place.

Su Xiao Xiao wasn’t mad as he took out a chair and placed it somewhere else before continuing his battle with the delicacy.

Sima You Yue took out a pair of chopsticks and a bowl, handing it to Jiang Jun Zhe. That guy watched what Xu Xiao Xiao and the others did and knew how to go about eating it.

“Little Junior Brother, only after eating your cooking do I know now how distasteful the things I’ve ever eaten are. Why did you not come earlier!” Han Miao Shuang lamented.

“Delicious! Delicious!” Su Xiao Xiao agreed.

“It’s truly not bad.” Jiang Jun Zhe’s eyes were now fully open. He was no longer dazed as he was before.

“Hey you brats, why didn’t you invite me if you were eating!” Xu Jin didn’t hold back anymore as he came running down.

“Teacher Xu.” Sima You Yue stood up and offered her seat up to him. The four of them completed the table seating perfectly.

“Little Junior Brother, cut another portion of meat for me!” Han Miao Shuang called out to Sima You Yue.

Sima You Yue wandered helplessly over to the side to cut out another two portions of meat. Then, she thought for a bit before taking out some chicken and spirit beasts. She chopped them up and added them to the pile. Then, she took out some more vegetables from inside the spirit pagoda and added them to the plate.

These guys ate portion after portion, and what initially began as a simple shabu hotpot for Han Miao Shuang, turned into a massive feast for the four of them.

The four of them ate from morning till the afternoon, and they only stopped when they could eat no more.

“Xiao Xiao, go clean up. You Yue, come here.” Xu Jin watched as Sima You Yue kept the things away and waved at her.

Sima You Yue was happy for someone to clean up instead, so she placed her things down and walked over.

Xu Jin took out a toothpick and placed it in his mouth, saying, “Did you cause trouble again when you went out today?”
