Chapter 262
Married by Mistake: Mr. Whitman’s Sinner Wife
Ava was unconvinced. She wanted to argue further, but after she heard what Jeremy said, the expectations in her heart went out immediately.
She looked at Madeline and became dispirited after seeing her charming face.
âIs this really not Maddie?
âNo, thatâs impossible.â
Ava glared at Jeremy angrily before gritting her teeth. âJeremy, this must be a trap. Sheâs definitely Maddie! Youâre the one whoââ
âEnough.â Madeline interrupted her with a cold voice. âI donât care what happened between you and Madeline, but it has nothing to do with me. Listen closely, Iâm not Madeline Crawford.â
After she said that, she lifted her beautiful eyes and looked at Jeremy. âIâm going to give myself a break today. I wonder if you have time to accompany me, Mr. Whitman?â
Jeremy looked into her mesmerizing eyes and smiled. âIt would be my honor.â
After he said that, he grabbed Madelineâs hand.
Everyone around them made way for them conscientiously. Then, they watched as Jermey left while holding Madelineâs hand.
Ava and Daniel ran after them immediately. However, they only saw Madeline getting into Jeremyâs car with a grin on her face.
âHow is that possible?â Ava was furious and frantic. âDan, letâs follow them.â
Daniel looked in the direction where Madeline left and was smiling softly. âSince Maddie is alive, Iâll still accept her no matter what she has becomeâ¦â
Jeremy stopped the car near a park in the suburbs. After Madeline got out, she let out a long sigh of relief.
âItâs such a pain in the butt to look the same as Mr. Whitmanâs ex-wife,â she said in an annoyed tone.
Then, she lifted her head while looking like she was confused. âWhoâs that man just now? You look like you know each other.â
Jeremy looked at Madeline and averted his gaze with a fake smile. âA rich guy who canât forget about my ex-wife.â
When Madeline heard that, her heart skipped a beat.
âCanât forget.â
What a beautiful term.
It seemed like there was still someone in the world who still could not forget about her.
However, for the past ten years, she was only thinking about this cold-blooded man in front of her.
âGod loves to play jokes on me.
âI donât love the person who loves me. On the other hand, the person I love doesnât love me back.â
After such long and repetitive torment, the people who got hurt the most were the ones who gave their hearts to the wrong person.
âDan, you still havenât forgotten about Maddie.
âShe doesnât deserve you keeping her in mind.â
After Jeremy noticed Madelineâs silence, he said profoundly, âYou seem touched, Miss Vera.â
Madeline came back to her senses and smiled. âIâm just surprised that thereâs such an exceptional person who loves the ex-wife that you despised so much.â
âExceptional?â Jeremy seemed to be unhappy with that word. He chuckled coldly, a dark tide surging in his eyes. It was crashing against Madeline. âI had a question for you last night, but I didnât have the opportunity to ask you,â he said as his slender body approached Madelineâs thin frame. Then, he trapped her between himself and the car.
His intense gaze enveloped her confused face with a hint of mystery. There was so much love in his eyes.
âVera Quinn, do you like me?â
