Chapter 452
Married by Mistake: Mr. Whitman’s Sinner Wife
Jeremy never loved her. Not even a little bit.
When she was exposed for pretending to be the little girl back then, she was nothing to Jeremy. She was not even a stranger anymore despite them having a son together.
âYou look like you know somethingâs about to happen,â Jeremy said coldly. His tall body approached her as his overbearing aura terrified her.
Meredith shook her head innocently. âJeremy, I donât know what youâre talking about.â
She forced tears to well in her eyes so that she would look extremely aggrieved.
âJeremy, for the sake of our relationship and for the sake of Jack, can you get me out of here? I was really falsely accusedââ
âHeh.â
Before Meredith could finish, she was interrupted by Jeremyâs scoff.
âDo you know why youâre still alive?â he asked all of a sudden.
Meredith looked dumbly at the man who was getting more and more terrifying as each second passed.
âBecause Iâve been waiting for Maddieâs answer.â
ââ¦â Meredith widened her eyes in shock as her heartbeat accelerated from terror.
Indeed. Jeremy knew that Vera was Madeline and Madeline was Vera!
He called her Maddie so intimately. His eyes would even soften when someone mentioned her name. It was obvious that his feelings for Madeline were true.
âMaddie told me that she hates me. She hates me for all the things Iâve done to her. She hates that I always listened to your lies and caused her to endure so much pain that was even worse than the last,â
he said while striding forward. His body was emitting a domineering aura that made Meredith so scared that she backed away into the corner of her cell.
Jeremy reached out his hand slowly and grabbed Meredithâs neck.
He wasted no effort in lifting Meredith, and his narrow eyes were filled with a sinister glare.
Meredith lost the ability to breathe. Then, her toes were not touching the floor anymore. She widened her eyes in shock as her face went red. âJ-Jeremy, let me off. Pleaseâ¦â
âLet you get away with this? How?â
Jeremyâs fingers tightened their grip as the murderous aura in his eyes got even more intense.
âDo you know I fell in love with Madeline the first time I saw her in university? If you hadnât appeared and told me that you were the girl I made my promise to back then, I wouldnât have deliberately ignored her and treated her so coldly!
âBecause of that promise, I allowed you to hurt the woman I love most with no restraints. And because of you, I treated my own child as a b*stard child. However, the truth is that youâre nothing. Youâre not the girl I promised back then and youâre not the woman I love!â
Jeremy pursed his lips together, his eyes softening.
âMaddie has been the woman I love this entire time. Sheâs the little girl I met at the beach back then!â
When Meredith heard Jeremyâs firm and resounding statement, her eyes widened.
âHe knows! He knows everything!â
He even guessed that Madeline was the little girl back then!
Meredith felt like she was suffocating. When she thought she was about to pass out, Jeremy let her go.
She fell on the ground heavily. Her body curled up from pain as she coughed violently.
When she felt the strong killing intent oozing from Jeremy, she crawled to his feet. âJeremy⦠Cough, cough⦠I was wrong. Iâm begging you, please donât kill me. I donât⦠I donât want to die⦠Cough, I-I have a way to make Madeline hate you less. As long as y-youâ¦â
Jeremy towered above her and looked down on her. He spoke slowly, âIf you still think that Iâll believe what you say, then youâre extremely stupid.â
âN-No, Jeremy. I really have a way!â Meredith grabbed Jeremyâs pants in fear. âActually⦠Actually, the child Madeline had with you is still alive.â
