Chapter 142
Alpha King’s Lost Luna
Chapter 142 Respect her
CAS SANDRA
Thankfully, obtaining permission for Becky to leave Anemond wasnât difficult in the least. After I told Asher all about the new chemical compounds and the potential research that my a*sistant was planning to conduct in Wild Crawler, the Alphal Kingâs eyes widened, and his l*ps parted in surprise.
âWow,â he said. âYes, by all means, she is welcome to go to Wild Crawler. Any bit of information she can get will be helpful. She has my permission to leave for however long she needs.â
With the kingâs blessing in mind, Becky went straight to work right away and packed her belongings. Marley and I advised her on the right things to wear and supplied her with warmer coats and sweaters just in case.
âWith it being near the border, thereâs a lot of forests, so the weather is going to be a lot colder,â Marley explained as she exchanged coats with Becky. âThis has a sherpa lining so itâll keep you nice and warm.â
âThank you, Marley,â Becky thanked my friend happily. âI really appreciate it.â
âOf course,â Marley replied with a wave of her hand. âItâs no big deal, honestly. Just canât have you freeze to death out there.â
Becky giggled. âI appreciate it.â
Once she was all packed, we helped her gather her luggage up and bring it to the front of her motherâs house. Jane watched us carry her suitcase and studied us
with a look somewhere between concerned and curious.
âCas sandra?â she prompted me, and she waved me over to where she was ated in the parlor.
I glanced at Becky, who was lost in conversation with Marley, and then walked

âYes?â I wondered.
Jane seemed hesitant for a moment and then gave me a worried smile.
âIs my Becky going to be safe in Wild Crawler?â she asked me quietly. âSheâs never left Anemond before. Iâm a little nervous for her. I know she can handle herself, of course, but Iâm her mother.â
âYour nervousness is totally valid,â I a*sured her. âAny mother would be worried about their child leaving for the first time. But sheâs going to be perfectly safe there. Itâs a quiet Pack, full of a lot of good people. Theyâre going to take care of her, Jar I promise.â
Jane began to nod in relief, and then she touched my arm gently.
âThank you, dear,â she said. âI appreciate it.â
âOf course,â I replied. Beckyâs mother may have been insistent when it came to her daughterâs future as a wife, but she was still very kind and understanding. She clearly cared for Becky.
Finally, after her luggage was handled and she said goodbye to her mother, Marley and I escorted Becky to the town square, where a car and a guard were waiting for her.
As the guard loaded up her luggage, we both gave her huge hugs and then she got into the car. Becky waved to us as the car drove away, and once it was gone, Marley and I turned back to walk back to the clinic.
But before we could leave, Silas Moses appeared, almost out of nowhere. His golden eyes were fixed on the car as it drove off, and once it was gone, he turned to
âCas sandra Keller?â he asked politely. âMay I have a word?â
I stared back at him in surprise and then glanced at Marley. My friend looked

just as shocked to see the Beta as I was.
âI have something important Iâd like to discuss with you, Cas sandra,â Silas continued as Marley suddenly shot daggers at him with her eyes. Her mouth had drawn into a thin line and her irritation radiated from her. She clearly disliked Silas, not that I could blame her. I wasnât a huge fan of himself given the circumstances.
I stood there for a moment and debated my next move, but ultimately decided that speaking with him was the best option. Though I was no longer in the palace, I was still a royal healer and needed to be polite with the upper-cla*s members of Anemond.
âOkay,â I said. âWe can step over here.â
I then turned to Marley. âWait for me at the clinic?â
My friend continued to stare at Silas but nodded her head.
âFine,â she remarked. âIâll see you in a little while.â

She offered Silas one last glare and then left. Once she Silas led me over to a nearby bench beneath a large tree. We sat down, and nervousness rose within me. What did he want?
âSo, where is Becky going?â Silas broke the silence finally.
âSheâs going to the Wild Crawler Pack,â I explained shortly. âShe has some business to attend to.â
âWild Crawler,â he repeated back. âIs that your hometown?â
I was a little taken aback but I nodded.
âM/ sister told me so,â he explained.
Adalyn. Of course, she had told Silas all about me. The mere thought of her made me a bit uneasy. Though Silas conducted himself politely, he was still a Moses.

Could I trust him?
Silas seemed to pick up on my concern right away and smiled at me.
âIâm not here to spy on you or intercept information on her behalf,â he a*sured me. âAlthough thatâs what she wants. Iâm not her pawn, Cas sandra, I swear.â
âThen why are you here?â I asked directly. But before he could respond, I realized the reason. He was here because of Becky. He was actually concerned
about her.
âIs Wild Crawler a safe place?â he wondered quietly.
I laughed lightly. âThere are hardly any safer places in Wegalla than Wild Crawler. Sheâs going to be perfectly fine.â
As Silas nodded, I lowered my voice.
âWhy didnât you come over when we were saying goodbye?â I asked gently.
âI didnât think she would want to see me,â he replied.
As his expression saddened, I was reminded of what had happened during the celebration, and before I could stop myself, I blurted out the question weâd all be wondering.
âDo you truly like her, Silas?â
The Beta nodded again without hesitation. âSheâs all I can think about. Not being around her⦠itâs awful. The pull is irresistible. I canât explain it. Itâs unlike anything Iâve ever experienced before.

All I could hope was that he would do right by Becky and be the man she
