Chapter 10
The Heiress’ Return: Six Brothers at Her Beck and Call
Chapter 10 Wynter Embarrasses the Yates family
Leaning against the bike with her legs, Wynter casually looked over. She exuded a strong presence
that demanded attention.
Ewan glanced at her. He held back his irritation as he shoved the bank card into her hand. Then, he
said lowly, âWynter, take the money and go.â
Today was Yvetteâs apprenticeship in medicine, and he didnât want any unforeseen incidents.
Wynter was initially lounged casually and unimpressed. She couldnât help but smirk at his words.
Fifty thousand? Offering assistance? Taking the money and leaving?
The Yates family seemed eager to cast her as a pennyâpinching âpoor relativeâ at any cost.
Just when everyone thought Wynter would take the card and leave, she surprised them all. In one swift
motion, she tossed the bank card back at him, decisive and precise!
The crowd froze.
Wanda couldnât contain herself, screaming, âWhat are you doing! Weâre trying to help you. Donât take
advantage!â
âHelp me?â Wynter propped her chin. She was smiling softly. âMs. Scott, Iâm not interested in acting out
your drama.
âMr. Yates, you should keep this money for Ms. Scott. After all, she seems quite demanding as a
mistress.â
âYou! Youâ¦â Wandaâs chest heaved with anger, nearly causing her to say things she shouldnât have.
Ewan clenched his fists, his anger barely restrained. If not for the presence of others, he might have
acted.
Wanda wasnât Ewanâs first wife. He came to the city for business and caught Wandaâs eye, leading to
their passionate relationship.
Noticing the Scott familyâs influence in Southdale, Ewan abandoned his wife back home on the
outskirts to marry Wanda. However, nobody would openly admit to these facts.
Wynterâs words ruined Ewan and Wandaâs loveyâdovey image! How could they have underestimated
Wynterâs resilience and strength?
Chapter 10 Wynter Embarrasses the Yates family
The expressions of everyone present darkened. Even Hilda furrowed her brows, unaware of the
situation.
Yvette, who had been brought back to the family, knew the truth behind the situation. Being smart, she
understood that it wasnât the right time for Wynter to continue speaking.
She gently said, âDad, Mom, itâs dinner time. Letâs go inside.â,
Yvetteâs words snapped Ewan and Wanda back to reality.
Ewan knew how to create a good image in public.
He looked at Wynter and said, âConsidering where youâre from, you lack sophistication. We wonât
engage with you at that level.â
Then, he turned to Wanda and remarked, âBe more cautious when helping others in the future, lest
your kindness be mistaken.â
Wandaâs hostility was evident as she continued to gaze at Wynter.
Wynter held Wandaâs gaze, her stunning appearance and enigmatic eyes leaving others puzzled.
Wanda was almost losing her composure again due to her attitude.
âMom, donât be upset over an outsider,â Yvette remarked, linking her arm with Wandaâs. â Madam
Gibson has a relaxed demeanor. She wonât lose her temper over some rumor.â
This was a gentle reminder for Wanda to stay composed without risking her image.
Wanda quickly got it, sighing. âIâve totally screwed up by trying to help.â
Yvette reassured her, âMom, youâre not wrong. Nowadays, people have big egos. Handing a bank card
directly might make sensitive folks feel disrespected.â
Was she implying Wynter was too needy? Wynter looked at them.
Yvette was quite sneaky. Yet, earlier in the morning, she had seen Wynter through the car window,
knowing she was here to treat someone. Had Yvette already forgotten?
