Chapter 121
The Heiress’ Return: Six Brothers at Her Beck and Call
Chapter 122 Who Made Mr. Yarwood Stop the Meeting
Wynter remained calm. âHeâs on a business trip.â
At that moment, Susan turned into an ally. âMrs. Yates Senior, I can testify that Wynter isnât lying to you
about this. I saw him get into a fancy car with my own eyes! It has to cost at least six million dollars!â
Wynter hadnât made the connection between the Maybeck and six million dollars. She was currently
typing out a text message to her incredibly attractive patient. The message was simple.
âI need to borrow you for a while.â
âHandsome Patientâ replied almost instantly with, â???â
Wynter then replied, âIâll explain later.â
Handsome Patient texted back, âOkay.â
Now that she had permission, Wynter felt at ease.
Still, Margaret was concerned. âHe seems to come from such a good background⦠Wynter, what if he
mistreats-
âHe listens to me,â Wynter cut in curtly.
Margaret was elated. âThatâs great! Thatâs really great!â Only then did Wynter let out a
sigh of relief.
Margaret then continued, âBut why canât I help but feel like something is off? How long have you known
each other?â
Wynter said without batting an eye, âHe fell for me at first sight.â
Susan clapped her hands together. âThat makes perfect sense. Look at our Wynterâs beauty. Who
wouldnât fall for her?â
But Margaret wasnât so easy to bluff. âIâve never seen him look for you.â
Wynter waved her phone. âWe talk online.â
Susan added, âI know! You and him video call each other, right? Thatâs what all young couples do these
days!â
Wynter smiled minutely, thinking to herself, âAunt Susan, keep going.â
Margeret pondered it for a moment. âThen give him a video call now.â
This caught her off guard. Wynter thought of a stalling tactic. âLet me ask if heâs free.â
Margaret nodded along with Susan. Their eyes were filled with anticipation.
Wynter typed out a text, âCan you take a video call right now?â She added a smiley emoji, hoping he
would pick up on it.
When he saw the emoji, he knew that she wanted him to reject her. It was settled. then. He was not
going to follow her plan.
Handsome Patient replied, âSure.â
Margaret was overjoyed. âHe said yes!â
Wynter never thought that things would go south!
âWynter, call him!â Susan urged.
Wynter was speechless. Fine. She was going to call him. After all, he was the one who agreed. She
pressed the video call button. Soon, the call connected, and ant image appeared on her screen.
It was a man wearing a dark suit sitting in a leather chair. A pair of goldârimmed glasses sat on his
nose. His gaze was piercing. It looked intellectual, but also
sensual.
He was graceful and handsome in a way she couldnât describe. There was a giant projector screen
behind him and a floorâtoâceiling window to his right.
It looked like he was
in the penthouse of a skyscraper. She could even see the financial districtâs landmarks outside the
window.
âAre you in a meeting?â Wynter cocked an eyebrow. âIâll call you back then.â
Daltonâs elegant face appeared on the screen. He said with amusement in his voice,â No need. I
happen to be taking a break.â
Taking a break? The other people in the conference room didnât so much as dare to make a loud noise.
Still, they were very grateful to the caller. She had saved their
asses!
Before this call came in, they were all on edge, unsure of whether they were going to
be their bossâ next victim.
Daltonâs gaze swept over the people around the table. The look in his eyes was enough to make the
branch managers silently pack up their things and leaveâ¦
However, they still wondered who this caller was. Who had enough charm to make Daltonâs gaze
soften like that?
âItâs not a bother at all. My colleagues have left.â
Before the door shut completely, the others could still faintly hear his deep,
melodious voice. Max even wondered whether his boss had been possessed. What a terrifying
mystical force!
Dalton got up from his leather chair, revealing his black slacks and black shirt. His collar was slightly
undone. Through the screen, he appeared even more aloof and handsome to Wynter. âWell, what is
it?â
