Chapter 40
The Heiress’ Return: Six Brothers at Her Beck and Call
Chapter 40 Dr. Genius Was Born In A Poor Family
The medicine store looked much better inside than outside.
Initially, Ethan was worried that the place was too dirty for Dalton to get treated. But it was clean and
neat, with an oldâfashioned layout.
There were wooden cabinets in the middle, making it look like an old house in Kingbourne, resembling
a pharmacy from the olden times.
Dalton looked around the store before his gaze landed on a painting. He casually played with the
beads on his wrist.
Seeing this, Wynter walked over to him and said, âItâs a replica.â
âBut could it be real?â Dalton said with a playful look.
Wynter smiled. âWhat if it is?â
Dalton stayed silent, staring at the painting as his eyes darkened.
Even in her tangled sleeping pose, Marieâs youth and beauty stood out, mirroring the deep emotions
Picasso poured into his painting.
If he hadnât known that the real âNude, Green Leaves and Bustâ had been purchased by an overseas
collector, he might have thought this painting was the real deal.
Dr. Lopez was intrigued. âOpening a foot massage shop like this in a modern city is quite an idea!â
âMedicine store,â Wynter corrected him.
Dr. Lopez quickly rectified, âThis medicine store is quite something!â
âWynter, is that you?â
Margaret walked out of the room with her cane. She was surprised to see so many people, but then
she smiled. âAre all of you Wynterâs friends?â
Ethan was quick to respond, âYes, friends!â
Margaret nodded and then glanced at Dalton. âAnd this gentleman too?â
âHeâ¦â
Before Wynter could speak, Dalton nodded and said, âYes.â
âWynter, you have so many friends over, but you didnât even tell Grandma,â Margaret

jokingly complained while looking at Wynter.
âI could have asked Wolf to buy more ingredients and prepare a nice meal for you all.â
Wynter brought over a wheelchair for Margaret to sit in, âGrandma, theyâre not here for a meal. My
friend is feeling a bit under the weather. I brought him here for some moxibustion.

As an experienced doctor, Margaret could tell a lot from Daltonâs complexion. âWynter, your friend, heâs
just feeling unwell?â
âJust unwell,â Wynterâs eyes twinkled.
âHe has a weak spleen and slow digestion. Iâll give him a massage. Donât worry, Grandma, I wonât do
anything reckless.â
Margaret patted her hand and said, âYou must remember Grandmaâs words.â
âI remember. For minor ailments, we do massages. If thereâs a serious problem, we donât prescribe
medicines or do massages.
âWe send them to the hospital across the street. Our medicine store doesnât treat serious illnesses.â
Wynter smiled softly.
Wynter didnât remember much about her past. She did recall Wanda whispering it in her ear when she
had just woken up.
Wanda said that Margaret had once caused the patientâs death and warned her to stay away from the
medicine store. This incident weighed heavily on Margaretâs mind.
Ever since Wynter started getting involved with the medicine store, Margaret had been worried. She
was afraid that another accident might occur. 1
Wynter lowered her gaze, feeling that this matter wasnât as simple as it seemed. However, it had been
a long time since it happened. She needed to find the right opportunity to investigate further.
Margaret didnât know what Wynter was thinking. She thought Wynter just got distracted again. She
gently touched Wynterâs hair and smiled. âMy granddaughter is such a good girl.â
Wynter bent down a little to let Margaret touch her hair, looking very obedient.
Dr. Lopez was shocked watching this. Was this the same Dr. Genius who usually looked at everyone
so seriously?
Ethan also looked concerned. âSir, her grandmaâs legâ¦â
