Chapter 44
The Heiress’ Return: Six Brothers at Her Beck and Call
Chapter 44 Wynter Got Into A Fight
As soon as she heard this, Wynter dashed out from the door before anyone could react. She moved
fast, grabbing a wooden stick nearby. Her eyes were cold and fierce.
A crowd had gathered in the alley. All of them were neighbors who had just returned from
the market.
âWhatâs going on here?â
âTheyâve come to find Margaret Yates, saying she had caused someoneâs death.â
âIt canât be.â
âWhy not? Traditional medicine is hard to tell.â
âI just had my neck treated by her yesterday. Could something have gone wrong?â
âIf this is true, we canât go to her anymore.â
Margaret listened to the murmurs around her. Her hand clutching the cane had turned
white, and her legs were trembling.
The accuser laughed arrogantly, âNo wonder youâre living so carefree here. Seems like nobody knows
about your past deeds.â
He shook his head and mocked her, âYou think itâs still the same as before? Traditional
medicine is on the decline. And you dare to compete with the Gibson family?â
âI donât know what youâre talking about. Move over!â Margaret said coldly, trying to walk
away.
The man blocked her path and verbally abused her, âStop pretending, old cripple. Wasnât it your idea to
send that girl to the hospital?â
Wynter? Margaret abruptly raised her head. âAre you talking about Wynter?â
âI donât care what her name is,â the man sneered.
âI wouldnât be here if my aunt hadnât asked me to come in person. Old cripple, you must be
eager to attend the Yarwood familyâs medical seminar, right? Here, take this!â
He threw an âinvitationâ at Margaret. âIf you think youâre capable, then go treat Mr.
Yarwood. Letâs see if you old hag canâ¦â

Before he could finish his sentence, Wynter kicked him. The kick landed him on his knees, hitting the
ground hard!
âWho dares to kick meâ¦â The man tried to turn around in pain.
Wynter pressed her hand on his shoulder. She said indifferently, âMe.â
âYou!â The man couldnât stand up and tried to swing a fist.
Wynter leaned down and pressed harder. She said slowly, âWho did you just call âold hagâ?â
The man was in so much pain he started sweating. The pressure on his shoulder felt like a mountain.
He couldnât move even a tiny bit.
âWhat⦠what does this have to do with you?â
âI donât have much patience. Better watch your tone, or elseâ¦â Wynter got close to his ear
and said, âIâll dislocate your bones.â
The man sensed that she was serious. The joints around his shoulder were already out of place. He
widened his eyes in pain. âMiss⦠Miss, letâs talk nicely.â
âWynter.â Margaret was worried that the neighbors around were all watching, which
wouldnât be good for Wynterâs reputation.
But Wynter didnât care about it. She said calmly, âGrandma, such wicked people should be punished,
so they canât harm others.â
âLook who it is, the fake heiress who got kicked out!â
The man was sweating but scoffed, âYou better let me go. Grandmaâs got a shady past, and the
granddaughterâs got no shame. Letâs see who can leave when the police arrive!â
The word âpoliceâ made Margaret step forward to pull Wynter away.
She took a deep breath and looked at the man. âGeorge, youâre here for me. If you have something to
say, say it. Leave my granddaughter out of this.â
âIâve given you the invitationâ George Gibson shook his arm and said arrogantly, âThe Gibson family is
generous.
âWeâre not sneaky like you, treating patients secretly. Now, my aunt is giving you this chance to openly
suck up to the Yarwood family.â
Margaret looked at him and asked, âWhatâs Hilda up to now?â

âYouâve ended up like this. Who would bother with you?â George sneered.
âIf youâre not confident in your medical skills, just admit it. Youâre probably afraid of using the wrong
medicine and killing someone again, right?â
His words stirred whispers and accusations around them.
Margaretâs hands froze, not moving.
George laughed mockingly, âI knew you wouldnâtâ¦â
âThree days later? At the Yarwood family?â A teasing laugh interrupted him.
